i reinstalled 2.1 to try and fix a few problems with some applications, but anyway i decided to clean out all my contacts and put them in fresh soo i erased the contants storage and now it wont show my contats when i put them in ?

Hi , I need to display only Sim contacts in phone contacts option rather than contacts that are saved in memory card. According to me knowledge there is a bug in these cell phone perhaps if you have any old nokia phone you may find this option.

If i have contacts on my SIM cards and in the phone the contact display lists all of them. I couldn't find an option to limit the display to the phone storage only. So i see duplicates. This is anoying. Even my 6 year old 3110 classic can do this! Nokia - where have you hidden this option?

I can then change it to display only one of my contacts lists (work or personal), but that requires several thumb fiddles every time. On my old Nokias it was possible to view the contact list with both the name and number of each contact when looking at the contact list i.e. When sending a SMS. Is it possible on the E72 to display the number too? At the moment all I can see is the name. I have had a quick look around the menus and couldn't find it anywhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just completed setting up my Moto XPE to my liking (almost) but noticed that my contacts are not set up "just right".
My contacts live in various places like LinkedIn, FB, MS and Google accounts. I have set up the Contacts app to synch with all these accounts. MS contacts was not straightforward as I use Outlook to access MS services and the contacts in there don't synch with the Android Contacts app. FB and Google don't seem to want to get along so that is another issue. So what I ended up doing is to set up my GMail app to connect with my Hotmail account but synch only the contacts as I prefer to use Outlook for my Hotmail emails.

When i receive calls from certain of my contacts, the display identifies these as unknown callers, despite the fact that they are known contact calling from numbers stored in my contacts. This only applies to a few of my contacts and I noticed it most recently after I had a problem disconnecting from a call with one of my contcats. Most of my contcats do display the correct caller id when they call.Â

Check under Settings > iCloud to see if the Contacts switch is ON (green side showing). If it's already on, switch it off for 30-60 seconds, then back on again. Your contacts should start showing up shortly...

I've added an additional Hotmail account and enabled syncing with Contacts, but for some reason, each of those contacts that belong to that account do not show a contact photo, it's just a blank square. Other information such as name and numbers etc are present.With the (primary) Microsoft Account i've used when setting up the phone, those very same contacts are displayed as they should be.

A small item I'd like to see changed is the way that the HTC People app displays the details of contacts. When a contact name is clicked on it brings up their details and unfortunately the way it displays the postal address just doesn't work. In a single line it displays a preview of their address and when clicked on only offers the option of viewing in google maps (not the actual address text). It is possible to view the entire postal address if editing - not a smart move and could lead to accidental deletion. Maybe there is another way of viewing postal addresses but I certainly can't figure it out.
It would be great if the full postal address was displayed in the contact details without having to edit or open google maps.
I'm probably just blind, but where is the setting (If it's still there) in the contact lists to have it only display contacts with a phone number? Otherwise I end up with every person I email on my exchange account on my contacts list.

It was there with my razr before the ICS update and then it went away and still not there when I got my razr HD. I liked that reature because I liked to sync all the contacts and then only show just the contacts with phone numbers.

The dialler just gives me phone numbers, Hangouts (which I hate!) just wants to start a conversation with people!I dl'd Contacts+ and that does the job! but I can't use that as, for some reason, once installed it sets my notification volume to zero and I can't change it!!!
I have taken my gmail contacts and sorted them into groups. For example Friends and Friends 2, where Friends are people I call all the time and Friends 2 are those I call once a year. On my D2G under Contacts>menu>Show/hide. It says "check the groups to hide." If I check Friends 2, should this not now hide all the contacts in the Friends 2 group?
In Contacts Menu there is also a "Show Group", and this has the options Create new Group, All contacts, favorites, Google, and Phone contacts. This is confusing to me. If I choose "Google" which I assume is all my Gmail contacts, shouldn't the Show/hide apply to those groups? This is not the case. I have checked and unchecked several groups to hide and they still display. I have also verified that the contacts are only in the groups that are checked. So they should be hidden.
I want be able to hide certain groups in contacts and only show them when I need them. I'm not getting this right. I have synced since organizing the the the Gmail contacts.
I have my Z5 now for 1 day, and I see a big difference in the screen from my Z1 and the Z5. There is too much red on the Z5. On pictures faces are red instead of normal skin tone. I have disabled the X-reallity mode on both phones.

I've worked out how to manually sync contacts profile pics from FB onto my contacts list, but it won't let me do it on my own contact details. (Basically, in text messaging, pics of my contacts are there, but I can't link mine to do the same).
