I have updated to ICS and for me, it's all good and my phone is so smooth. But 1 thing that makes me sad about the ICS update is that there is no message notification in the lock screen. Where is it now? I hope in the next update they will include this. By the way, the camera is so good right now.
View 8 RepliesI updated my phone to lollipop 5.0, it is in general good till now, but i have two problems:
1) no notifications are displayed on my lock screen even for missed calls or sms's .. there is no any icon or symbol that informs me if i have missed any call or received a message ; and i have to unlock my phone every time to check
in the Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> i selected the option to show all the notifications.. but nothing changed
2) also on the lock screen , not widget for the walkman or the sound cloud to enable me to pause the players or to navigate to the next song
When I get a new text or email if I unlock my phone and touch the email or message app and read or delete it, it still shows the notification in the upper left. If I then lock my phone and unlock it again it still shows the notification on the lock screen. I have gone and cleared the cache and data from the message app and restarted. The only way it goes away is if I swipe it away on the lock screen or select it from the lock screen and view/delete after it opens.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI got the official 2.3.4 upgrade from the PC companion and am very happy with it. Part of the changes seems to be that I get new message notifications in the middle of my lock screen (meaning I press the power button and my screen goes from blank to the lock screen, and in the middle of that is a notification that says I have "New messages:1" with a envelope icon beside it. I've checked sms, email, whatsapp, skype, handcent, etc etc and I cant find any messages that are new. The notification bar is empty. I've also tried sending myself a message to see if it will clear, but it wont. I'd previously cancelled voice mail on the carrier side too.

The left portion of the image is the unlocked state; as you can see the notifications show up in the upper left corner of the screen. So its nice that you can click on a notification on the lock screen then swipe and it'll open directly into that app.
The problem i'm having is when i do this sometimes it just locks the phone. Screen turns off, and nothing happens. I will then press the home button and it unlocks and goes straight into the app as if i had unlocked it the first time.
I'm running as stock as you can get on the S6. Not even a theme. I can't seem to recreate the issue at will, but it does happen often but randomly.
Why doesnt my s5 turn off when I get a notification or when I check the time On lock screen. This been happening for the past days. I had about 55% of battery and when I got off work it was dead. I then later charged my phone and noticed that when I get a notification on the lock screen it won't turn off right after the notification showed. when I turn on the phone to check the time on the lock screen it doesn't turn off. it would usually turn off seconds later. This has been draining my battery. if I have a full battery at night and disconnect it and throughout the night I get a text message the lock screen would turn on and never turn off,and then in the morning I'm left with a dead phone or a 3% left, or when I disconnect the phone it doesn't turn of neither. How do I set it back to how it was. I already factory reset?

I use an app called no lock so it's easy to turn off when I'm at home and don't need the security. When I have the locking turned off and turn the screen off and on it doesn't ask for the pattern like it shouldn't. But whenever I select something in the notification bar i have to enter the pattern. I have tried different lock screens but it does it for all but the slide i think.

I currently have an old email notification stuck on my lock screen, and also on the live tile. I have deleted the email, refreshed the account, restarted the phone.
Both lock screen and live tile now no longer show new mail.
Will these phones be getting regular updates?
