Xperia PLAY :: How To Relock Bootloader With ICS Beta?
Aug 8, 2012
I install on my phone ics beta and i cant relock bootloader. I use this method [URL] but after flash phone dont open ... After this i flashed again ics 4 beta on xperia play ... How can i relock bootloader on xperia play with ics beta?
I noticed there were 2 newer images on the Google developers page and thought I would flash the latest and greatest (MDB08M) since it wasn't coming down OTA. I enabled Developer Options and set USB debugging and OEM unlock, rebooted to bootloader, did a fastboot oem unlock, rebooted then back to bootloader and ran the flash-all.bat from the new image, rebooted and all was well. I re-enabled USB debugging and went back to bootloader to re-lock the bootloader and am getting an error:
... FAILED (remote: unknown command) finished. total time: 0.016s
Results of fastboot getvar version-main are blank:
version-main: finished. total time: -0.000s
I rolled back to MDB08K but it made no difference. I then tried rolling back to MDA89D and letting it pull MDB08K OTA but that too made no difference.
Rooting (or Jailbreaking if you're used to the iPhone) is pretty awesome - it enables you to use a whole bunch of apps that are previously offlimits (such as Titanium Backup - a piece of software that will back up all of your .apks. It also enables you to remove some of the built-in bloat that Sony stuffed onto the Xperia Play which frees up a bit more space for new apps (Who honestly needs the Chinese keyboard on their phone?!)The classic way to root a phone is to first unlock the boatloader and then through that, install a version of your ROM that allows root access. However, although SE are providing a way to unlock the bootloader on a Play, this is not ideal because:Unlocking the bootloader automatically invalidates your warrantyWhen you have unlocked your bootloader, the software update function on your phone stops working as SE consider your phone to be "modified"Most phones are SIM-locked to a particular network and are therefore not even candidates to be bootloader unlocked The solution is to root your phone without unlocking the bootloader. How? A new application called Gingerbreak does it all for you! Literally, all you need to do is download the Gingerbreak .apk, run it and enjoy your new rooted Play. I can confirm that it is 100% working and took about 5 minutes from start to finish.
I been looking into unlocking my bootloader on my z3 (so i can get updates quicker), however on different threads I keep reading that DRM apps such track id or remote play will not function, is this true?
The main reason I brought my z3 (over an Iphone/samsung s6) was due to remote play.
I just want to ask if there's a way to find out if my bootloader is unlocked? My TrackID stopped working when my friend borrowed my phone and upon searching here the only possible root cause it by having the bootloader to be unlocked but when I checked if I can update my phone via PC Companion it works fine loading and updating my FW/SW and now I really don't know what happened to this phone. I'm afraid that my friend did something to it and maybe he really unlocked my bootloader.
What I know is that the phone can upgrade into ICS using PC Companion, but what I would like to know is whether it's possible to upgrade my phone using the PC companion even if I have its bootloader unlocked. Since if I accept OTA upgrade, it might result to bricking it.
i want to unlock Sony Ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms But i m worried about warranty issue...Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty?
I'll just get right to it. When I enter the service menu, it tells me that: unlock bootloader allowed: no. I cannot unlock my bootloader. Now, nobody seems to know of any solutions to this problem. I know it is the carriers that are at fault, but I just want to know if it is *possible* to unlock my bootloader. If not, I will have to return this device for one that is more developer friendly.
i'm trying to unlock the boot loader of my xperia z3, i'm following the instructions on sony's site but i'm stuck: i connect the phone to the pc in fastboot mode (blue light on), then i open the command prompt window in the platform-tools folder of android sdk, but when i type fastboot devices nothing happens. If i try to enter my unlock code i get "waiting for device" forever.
I have rooted my phone with .42 firmware. The problem is that it seems like I have an unlocked bootloader so, when I update OTA to .62 the phone turns into a brick!nothing works. I have no idea how to upgrade to .62 while keeping the roo
I have installed custom ROM of gingerbread v27 on my x8. I followed correctly all the guides and instruction and was able to succesfully run the custom ROM on my phone. All the requirements are met. (baseband is xxx015, and manuf. code is 11w28). After 1 week of succesful usage, suddenly a weird thing happens to my x8. When i tried to insert a different sim, it will reboot itself automatically and would do this cycle continually. If i removed the sim, it would just boot perfectly.
So i decided to factory reset my x8 on CWM and reinstall the custom ROM but the same thing happened after that.
Then i decided that i would relock bootloader and that made the whole thing worse. My x8 won't boot at all and won't even charge. If i connect it to my PC it would just stay under flash mode (green light goes on for 10 secs and the off for 5 secs and then recycled).
For some time I'm trying to make the process of unlockbootloader lamentablemnte this does not work, I'm doing in windows xp with PC Companion installed and operating adb follow all the steps but when Fastboot recognize that the phone is stuck and does not recognize this, I thought at first it was the virtual machine and how he was making the USB connection but probe in a native windows machine and not turned. Would like the possibility that perform differently
I've been trying to unlock my bootloader but having no success. I've downloaded the android sdk but when trying to run fastboot, the command prompt says <waiting for device> and then nothing happens.
This is the command I am using: C:UsersJonnyAndroidandroid-sdk ools>fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
I'm trying to update my xperia pro using SUS but I get a message "the phone software has been modified" and refuse to check updates. I unlocked the bootloader a few weeks ago. What should I do?
I have rooted and unlocked bootloader xperia neo v. I can't turn on it.I'm using custom rom and kernel. It doesn't respond to power button, you can hold power button as long as want and no vibrate or red led blink. I tried to repair via update service, but it can't find my phone... Phone looks bricked..
I'm running android 2.3.4(official), If I unlock my xperia mini bootloader, can I update/repair my phone software through Sony PC Companion or Sony Update service??
So like many people I'd like to customize my phone with a different image to the stock. I've done this before with HTC phones, and earlier this year updated to the Xperia Z2, with the intention of flashing it when a stable build came out from Cyanogen.
Finally gotten round to doing this and after a confusing twenty minutes trying to get it into fastboot I learn that on its service page its rooting status, bootloader unlock is not allowed.
confirm if my phone would 'brick' or not if I used official Sony software to repair...I used the online service Da Vinci to unlock my bootloader...so if I use SEUS or PC Companion now...will it brick? How do I relock bootloader safely if I need to repair via SEUS? Would it be better for me to relock the bootloader then unlock properly via Sony? I did pay for the Da Vinci service, so I'm not in a rush to make a mistake! I'm planning ahead for the ICS update and just in case I want to reverse to 2.3.

There is the encryption key. This is not anything groundbreaking for the average user at this very second, but what it does mean to the average user, eventually, is that after Sony Ericsson stops releasing full version updates for our device (which is VERY likely to happen after the GB update scheduled for next month) The great people over at XDA developers will be able to provide us with full version updates that do not lack any features like they have to date. For example, when the 2.1 update was released, the devs at XDA got their hands on the code and released 2.2 for x10. However, the camera driver needed to be re-written for it to run at all...and even then it was not HD until recently because of a bootloader workaround. Now that the bootloader is wide opened we will see more updates, native wifi tethering, and if the hardware can handle it, we will see updates to full 4-point multitouch and 16million color displays. This also means we will be able to get full MIUI and CyanogenMOD support, and if you are really daring, you may even be able to make your x10 run WP7.Good things will come from this....development is still in the infant stages as this was just reported yesterday.
My message notification tone used to play all the way thru when I received a message now it only plays two seconds then cuts off I have tried changing the tone but they are all the same.
had my play for a few months now and love it. However, when i play Battlefield two and attempt to use both touch pads to move about, the game freezes and locks up until i cease touching the two game pads. FYI, im using the stock launcher and i recently reboot the phone so the stock games were deleted. its a canadian phone on the Rogers network. Should i just bring the phone in?
I have just recieved my Xperia Play from the repair centre and they exchanged it but the the power key is not working. It's stuck and I can't press it it's gone a bit inside
I phone recently developed a problem with touch screen becomming completely unresponsive. I googled and found its a common fault with Sony Handsets. Now let me explain the list of tasks i did in order to get it back to work but invane 1- Tested a new touchpad 2- Software update 3- Software downgrade 4- Deassembling and reassembling
i think i didn't miss anything but still its not responsive. It does sometimes response but if i do restart battery pull, open back case its unresponsive again. According to my knowledge its not a hardware issue as if its hardware and need new one i already tried that its software issue and it seems that entire screen is selected when i try to neviggate through the gaming keys. I am still unable to belive that sony ericsson has still not provided any fix for the issue. If anyone has any idea or any third party software for screen please advise.
- add a document/pdf file and/or a file stored in my download/other folder, while drafting/forwarding a mail
- download game/ improve location on GPS as it asks compulsorily for a Wi-Fi connection; but I have only 3G data services from my mobile service provider?
