Xperia PLAY :: It Will Not Turn On
Feb 29, 2012I used my phone about 15 minutes ago. When I went to check the time it was off and now it won't turn on. Is their anything I can do to fix it or do I have to go out and get a new phone?

Dec 1, 2011My xperia asked my if I wanted to update the software, I pressed yes then later on when that was done, a message popped up saying that another part of the update would turn the phone off for about 30 minutes or so if I remember correctly. Now it will not turn on again. When I hold the power button it just vibrates for about half a second then pulses. Like vibrates for half a second then waits another 3-5seconds the vibrates again etc.*It's not a charging problem the green light shows when it's fully charged and that still operates.*I think it is rooted. I gave it to a friend to do it he said he put some of the root items on their but couldn't fully do it.

Nov 21, 2011I've had the phone for about 2 weeks, and for some reason the touchscreen is unresponsive. I don't just mean it freezes, I mean that it won't even light up or activate. Dec 1, 2011I was checking my phone one morning when it asked me to update, after that a message popped up saying that for the next update the phone had to be turned off for about 5 minutes. It never turned on again after that.I already posted a discussion notice about it not turning and the wonderful team member helped me and told me to flash my phone and try the updater. I've done both now and my phone is yet to turn on.I believe the flashing must of done something as now the LED light on the power button flashes red when I hold down it. But it still does not turn on.This has been really frustrating and the problem still continues to go on.Now when I try pc companion update service and hold the back button and connect the phone my PC doesn't recognize the device. Same message pops up if I just plug my phone in normally.

However, when i play Battlefield two and attempt to use both touch pads to move about, the game freezes and locks up until i cease touching the two game pads. Jan 25, 2012I phone recently developed a problem with touch screen becomming completely unresponsive. I googled and found its a common fault with Sony Handsets. Now let me explain the list of tasks i did in order to get it back to work but invane 1- Tested a new touchpad 2- Software update 3- Software downgrade 4- Deassembling and reassembling
i think i didn't miss anything but still its not responsive. It does sometimes response but if i do restart battery pull, open back case its unresponsive again. According to my knowledge its not a hardware issue as if its hardware and need new one i already tried that its software issue and it seems that entire screen is selected when i try to neviggate through the gaming keys. I am still unable to belive that sony ericsson has still not provided any fix for the issue. If anyone has any idea or any third party software for screen please advise.

Xperia PLAY :: Supported External Speaker For Play?
May 27, 2011I am looking to buy an external speaker to connect to my xperia play, preferably a sony branded one, but definately one that is portable enough to fit in my pocket.I thought I had found the one that fit the bill perfectly when I checked the sony site and found the MS 430 which is supposed to be fully compatible with the Xperia Play (it even doubles up as a phone stand, which is pretty neat).Now the problem is my jack is on the horizontal side of my phone (opposite side to the left flipper) and not on the top end as shown in the picture to connect a phone to this speaker.So therefore the speaker is not compatible with this phone, unless of course I have a unique phone with the jack in the wrong place or the phone is connected in the upright position, which wouldnt be very good when watching video playback.
