Unable To Restore IPhone Through ITunes - Error Code 21
Jun 19, 2014
I am unable to restore my iPhone through iTunes. I keep getting an error code 21 after trying recovery mode. I've followed work around instructions on apple, but no luck. Also because the phone will not turn on I am unable to locate serial number for the device.
Well im on my iphone 4 and it dies then when i charge it it is stuck on the apple logo screen i talked to apple and said to restore it so i when i did it would give me an error code 4005. i run a windows 8.0 toshiba laptop 64 bit. its in ios 7.1. it starts whne it says waiting for iphone then the phone just keeps turning on and off
I have been having network issues with my iPhone 4S (the carrier name is stuck at "searching...") so i decided to restore the phone. But it ends with an error code (1). Is this to do with hardware or can be fixed through software.
Just a bit confused really just baught a second hand iphone 4 and ive connected it to my itunes account to restore it but everytime i try i get error code 6?
Ive deactivated all my security software, ive re installed itunes, ive even tried all 4 of my usb ports and i still get the same error code 6!
I have an Iphone 3GS. I replaced the battery and digitizer. When I plug in to Itunes the Iphone wants to "restore", but I recieve an error code 21, and it will not "restore.

On occasions, I can get the restore past the usual point where is would generate the error message, which then gives me the Apple logo on my phone, before iTunes then stops working (usual "something went wrong, checking for solutions Vista message).
I have tried all of the suggested solutions on the Apple support site but to no avail, after several attempts still getting the error message or hanging issue with iTunes.
While doing a restore of the iphone 3, error code 1015 was displayed nearing the end of the restore. What is the reason for this and how can this be rectified?
i was trying to update my i phone now is stuck on restore mode i have been trying to reset for the past four hour and nothing seems to work. it keeps giving me a error code 1604.
We just got our 3Gs's last weekend. This morning I checked some mail and came back to it a few minutes later.
All of sudden it would no longer power on. I know the battery was about 50% when I checked email. The phone has not been jailbroken.
Hooked it up to the PC (windows 7) and Itunes said it was in restore mode which I have no idea what this really is. Itunes said to go ahead an restore the phone.
I let Itunes start the process, but then Itunes gave an error code 28. I have no idea what this means. The phone has been flawless until this point.
I was having some problems with my 3g booting up so I connected it to itunes. It was in the middle of a restore when it was accidentally disconnected in the process. Now when I try to restore it again, I first for an error that said 1618. Now, the most recent error says error 21 unable to restore. What can I do to get the phone back up and running?
There is this 2G iPhone that is (almost?) bricked.
As far as I know, the phone did work until recently, was not dropped, but suddenly got stuck at this screen:
The owner is not computer savvy, and is unsure whether the firmware has been updated (by chance or not).
Right now the phone is stuck at the "Restore needed" screen. What have I done so far: Put it in DFU, iTunes finds is, and tells me it needs to be restored; I have downloaded the 1.1.4, 2.2, and 3.1.2 firmwares for the 2G; I have tried to SHIFT+RESTORE many times, and every single time it ends up giving me error 23.
I tried all of the above-mentioned firmwares, have tried with iTunes 9.0.3, 8.2 and 7.5 MANY times - with the same result: Error 23.
There is something interesting: when I tap the "i" on the screen, it shows a windows that says: IMEI: Unknown, and ICCID: Unknown
I have searched online for a whole day now, and people say that this is related to a hardware problem with the modem; others said that it could be fixed by flashing w/ older firmware and older iTunes version - both of which I have tried.
So bottom line is that after all I have tried I am still nowhere. And ideas what else I could try?
I put my iphone 4 into deactivated mode without removing the passcode first. When I connect to itune, itune complains about the passcode. However, on the iphone 4, only emergy call mode is available. There is nowhere I can input the passcode.
Tried to reset my iphone and stupid me got caught in the deadly loop. Now I am trying to restore back to 3.1.3 and getting the not eligible error. Tried to redirect itunes to cydia per zollotech tutorial but not working.
After upgrade an iPhone 4 to os 5.1, I can't restore the backup : while restore I get the error iTunes could not restore the iphone because an error occurred -1. I tried to reset the iPhone, but it restores alwayds whit os 5 and not 4. Each time I connect the iPhone, il runs un recovery mode, but recovery fails with error -1.
I was trying to restore someone iPhone and got an error 1602 on iTunes and now I can't use the phone. It is stuck with the iTunes sync symbol on the phone and can not be restarted.
Info: iPhone 4S, Windows 7, just shows iTunes sync on the phone
