I've been out of the phone modding scene for a while. Last I modded was my silly Moto E398 or something. So I was wondering if its possible to get my W810i have the 'Conversations' feature of the C510.
View 3 RepliesI have W810i and the problem is that it won't charge - i just want to make sure if the problem is in phone battery or faulty charger? The phone was turning itself off when slightly dropped on table and such. But other then that, it was working and today i brought it to the service and the repairman put other charger and it charged, but only after second attempt after he cleaned connectors a little. Now, i brought it home but it won't charge. The other problem is that it was charging only when i squeeze the connector into specific position, so i guess something with the connectors too, but i'm not sure which one, the charger or the phone. So, what do you think?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using c510 for past 6 months. My network provider is vodafone. Recently I changed to postpaid connection from prepaid keeping the same number for that I got a new SIM. When I inserted the new SIM on switch on itself it is asking for phone lock code.I haven't kept any lock code for my phone till now. And when I searched in the net for the default code i got it as '0000'. But when I enter that it says wrong code.
Then I inserted my old SIM for that it is working but its inactive since I got new one. I checked the phone security settings under settings->general->security->Locks->phone protection->Protection so as to turn off that feature.It was shown 'Automatic' neither On or Off. And when I tried to change that to off its again asking for the lock code. And I am not able to use my phone now.

Now my C510 don't show optimized charging. Is there any problem with my phone? What is the difference between optimized charging and charging?

This is the best new feature on a phone I've seen for ages. I have the W760i without this IM type feature. Is it possible to load this app to the 760 and if so where do I get it and go about putting it in?

My big problem is that Three claim that it has water damage (it hasn't) and probably won't let me send it back to them to get it reflashed (I've no idea what this means but it solved a similar problem in the past). Furthermore, I can't get my computer to recognize the phone when I connect it. Is this the end?

I've tried other chargers and other batteries which I know work.

I love Sony E. phones and won't have any other. My favourite is the W810i which I still have but for which I can't find any sync software compatible with Windows 7. Do anyone know where I can get this and, if not, what can I do to sync my mobile contacts with Outlook?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to turn off shutter sound in Aino? I was using Sony Ericsson w810i for more than 5 years, and then started using Aino from about 2 days ago. With the experience of w810i, I thought enabling the Silent Mode would shutdown the shutter sound, but it's not happening. I tried every profile, did everything I can, but still the shutter sound is still there. If Sony Ericsson team is reading this thread,please be good enough to enable that with the Silent Mode.

Apart from the occasional problem of the screen going black and restarting I didn't have any problems in particular.That is until this Saturday. I was having a discussion with a friend via sms. Everything was working fine until the phone stopped sending sms. It also hasn't been able to since then. I can normally write the message, and when I press Continue I normally go to the sending screen. However, when I press Send I return to the Messages screen and the message I just composed is nowhere to be found. Neither in Drafts nor in Sent. And of course it isn't sent to the receiver. As you can understand I am by no means able to send an sms message to anyone because of this. Along with this problem, since this Saturday any sms that I receive appear as blank when I open them in Inbox. As a result I can't read messages either (apart from the first words shown in the Inbox screen under the name) And that's it, I can neither send nor read sms messages with my Spiro. That makes my phone pretty much useless when it comes to messaging. I would very much appreciate any help or advice on how to fix this problem. I would also appreciate any information regarding the cause of this problem.I do not believe my network provider is responsible as my old phone (W810i) can normally send and receive sms messages.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm looking at replacing my creaky old K800i with a C510, but wondered if the C510 has a kind of joystick or if it's a D-pad "clicky button" arrangement? It's hard to tell from the videos and written reviews. I play a lot of games on my mobile and I like the feel of the joystick, so I was really hoping I could upgrade to another SE phone with joystick, but I guess they're falling out of favour (especially since many people had problems with the K800 joystick).

1. It's got a 512mb stick in it and I'd like to replace it with something with greater capacity - say 4gb or 8gb - do I can put a lot more stuff on it. I spoke to Maplin about a new stick and the chap there said, if the phone is that sort of age, I might be able to go up only to a 1gb or 2gb and should check. Does anyone know the answer please?
2. The handbook (which I have just downloaded) talks about a file manager function, but I can't see it on my phone - is this a problem?
3. I have gone through all the menus and can't see a function to let me format a new memory stick - can I use one without formatting it?

And it is already damaged to my SIM also (SIM was worked perfectly when I have this problem). So I bought a new SIM and insert it and again my phone gave me same error. But my new SIM is work properly in other phones now also. I already updated the firmware of the phone. But still it not detecting the SIM.

However, soon my mobile went dead and I submitted (Work order # SE310RT317708) this to Sony Ericsson Service Center (RT Outsourcing Services Ltd, Pune) on 7 Aug 2010. They informed me that there is some problem with the motherboard of the mobile and it need to be sent to the factory for replacement, for which they said it would take 15-20 days of time. However, now it is close to two months and till date I have not received my mobile. Upon repeated calling they just say it would be done in weeks time, dont know when that week would come. I also, called up your call center for the same (Ref # 88390486 and 88429925) and they said it would be done in a couple of days time, however, I have not received my mobile till date. My concern:Is Sony Erricsson so irresponsible towards its customers?

Also I found another bug.In the stand-by the alarm time with the symbol is shown on the bottom left.However,after calls,the call time is shown on bottom left and the alarm time goes above the date, and the logo overlaps the time.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've bought a SE c510 recently. Maybe a month ago. All was working fine until a couple of days ago, it started giving me error message. First, it will say Inactive Sim. Then, it will turn itself on, and give me this error message: "Insert Sim or View Demo Video first" It takes more than a couple of on/off remove battery cycles before it functions again. My Sim is definitely not inactive. Cause At times that I don't get this error, it works. I have also updated to the latest firmware as of 06/27/10. I still get the errors. Is there s aolution to this? I have been using SE Phones for a long time now and I don't usually have issues like this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a C510 Sony Ericsson Phone. I bought is about 7-8 months ago. Recenly it has started behaving a little weird. I couldn't figure out if it is a software problem or hardware problem. Some of the problems it is showing are:It is very slow. Actions take place after 5-10 seconds after pressing the keys. For example: To look for a name in PhoneBook, if I type 'R' after 5-10 seconds it will show names starting with 'R'. If I press the Dial button on some contact, the phone hangs (the screen also goes blank) until the other party picks up the phone.Sometimes the screen splits up in two identical sub-screens. Restarting the phone is the only options in this case.This is what I did to fix it:Formatted the memory card after backing up the essensital data (contacts and notes)When the above didn't work I did a Master Reset The phone got a little (very little) faster, But No significant improvement. This tells me that the problem is not software related. There is some problem in the hardware. Let me know what to do. today It showed a new problem: "While searching in the phone book If I have to look for a name say "Prashant", and to start with I press key '7' to type 'P', it types direclty the third letter on key '7' that is 'R'. And the name starting with 'R' show up. The same thing happened with every key (1 to 9). " I restarted the phone and it got back to normal. This is getting irritating. Tell me what can I do.
