Sony Ericsson :: USB Device Attached Malfunctioned
I've tried thousands of times connecting my phone to my PC but it says the one of the USB devices attached to the this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. I want to transfer photos and videos to my PC but I really don't know how.

LG :: 8500 USB Cable Unknown Device (device Malfunctioned?)
I bought my LG 8500 from telus (mistake number one) anyways, they didnt supply me with a cable and wouldnt even sell me one, denying they existed. I bought one off ebay and it came with drivers. To my knowledge, the same drivers on the official LG site.I put the cd in and I clicked the icon and it 'installed' and it said I could proceed by hooking the usb up to the phone. Anytime I do, a little yellow box pops up "unkown device" or "A device attached to this computer has malfunctioned".I have 2 usb ports in the front and 4 in the back. No idea which ones to use. When I do the device manager thing it has its own category under USB called "unknown device" and when I click it it says "there are no drivers installed".I did install them. Grrr. Someone help? I cant even get the computer to recognize the phone.

Sony Ericsson :: Z500a - Disassembly / Screen Attached To Top Faceplate?
I took the entire face plate off tonight, but I couldn't get the last part off, with the screen. I'm afraid to use force because I don't want to mess up the screen. I guess my question is: Is the screen attached to the top faceplate? I don't want to damage it, or take any chances. Whoever has previously taken it apart, please let me know if some force is required and it'll be fine, or if I should be careful because I might mess up the screen.

I am wondering what the limit is in sending 3gp files via standard video messaging from one SE to another, as with relatively small files of around 1 or 2mb i get 'video too long to send'. surely the limit should be on size and not length? I am wondering if there is a way around the problem, either by changing phone settings or via the web eg if any sites offer a sending 3gp to mobile service.

Nokia :: E65 Modem / Device Attached To System Is Not Functioning
I am not able to resolve the following problem which suddenly appeared. When I try to connect to the Internet, both bluetooth and USB modem say: "Error 31 A device attached to the system is not functioning" when connecting directly using a dial-up connection. When using Nokia PC suite it says: "Cannot create newtork conncetion" (maybe inaccurate translation from my language). However, connecting to Internet directly from the phone (browser, applications) is working, so the connection itself is well configured. Moreover, I am not able to install the INF driver for bluetooth modem which I downloaded ("Device cannot start (CODE 10)"), but USB at least connection would be fine. Any ideas?

IPhone :: If I Disable Data Services But I Have An External GPS Device Attached, Will My Phone Still Be Able To Use My Location
I don't have an unlimited data plan, so when I use my phone while traveling, every time I look on Google maps- or any other location-based app for that matter- it's using up my data plan and costing me money. I think it's stupid that Apple has tied the built-in gps inextricably to the data service- they could at least let the gps operate in a reduced capacity when data is unavailable. What is one supposed to do if one lives in or travels to a location with limited data network availability? At any rate, this is the world we live in, so my question is this: if I get an external gps receiver, and turn off my data service, will my phone be able to extract and use my location from the device? Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1

Budget isn't so big, so I thinking of buying a used model. I want to use it with a bluetooth GPS. Also, something that includes English and Spanish (or can be flashed like the w800 etc.). So no real requirements, except 'fast' enough to make the GPS software useable, and maybe a reasonable screen/battery life (for bluetooth). Also, what GPS software do you guys recommend for SE? Any free?

I have a w880i and I'd like to update it with SEUS of flash it with XS++ or setool2lite or some other flashing software. Ihave a problem with this phone, this phone generates a 'USB device not recognized' error whenever I connect this phone to my laptop (Windows XP Professional SP2).Has anyone come across this error before and thus know how to resolve it? I have tried numerous drivers for the usb cable and none of them work or do you think that this could be a hardware fault?

After recently updating my W705 I cannot get the PC suite to recognize it. There seems to be a problem either with installing the drivers for the device or the device not being recognized because it "doesn't have a signature".?! It can be recognized and connects properly when in USB mode, which is strange, but it no longer has a 'phone mode' option, only a 'PC mode' option. The phone works fine by itself but I need to restore all my data to it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software many times and checked my USB ports and cable. Any other ideas for me to try?

Is there a link in how to flash K790/K800 phones? I found the XS++software link and Wotan server software link on there site now how do I go about downloading the firmware is that something I pay credit on Wontan server and use there software to do? Do I just choose what firmware I want from the drop down list in the software wontan provides and AMR check box and click start/continue? While holding the "C" button or do I only hold it while wontan finds my phone and not flor flashing new firmware? Also when I install new firmware will I lose any files/applications/games saved to the phone?

I tried flashing my k790a, and totally screwed it up. Apparantly there are basically NO valid MAIN, FS and Custpak files anywhere in the universe for this phone. So I'd like to just grab my buddy's phone (another k790a, same carrier, same everything), backup his whole firmware, and restore it to MY phone. Any ideas how I can go about doing this?

Well as we all know both these phones have had there fair shares of problems, the k850 was cut off early and didn't even run a yearly cycle of sales, and now the C905 has now been cut off, currently 2, 3, phones4u, do not sell this handset anymore, they all did but have not for more than a month now, the C905 started selling in October (?) so the flagship device has had a cycle of 9 months. If the C905 was a real success the phone should be in the shops still, the C902 is still in all the shops, and so is the K770i, and the K800 isn't that hard to find either. So is it safe to say the C905 is the same as the K850?

So, I saved up some cash, and am selling some stuff to get about 300-350 pounds budget for a new phone. I'm very tempted to get the N97 mini. It has good audio quality (gsmarena tests) pretty decent pictures, WiFi, GPS, qwerty keyboard and a nice screen. What does SE have to offer that will give me good music, photos and connectivity? WiFi is pretty important and a qwerty keyboard is a big plus. Another thing that stops me from spending so much money on a brand new SE is their lack of updates when it comes to fixing bugs and adding features. I still see Nokia pumping out N95 firmwares that get new features and fixes. The SE phones I owned could've got new features but SE never bothered. Take smile shutter on the C510 for example, they could've and in my opinion should have also made an update to include the feature in it's bigger sister the C702. But they didn't. I don't want to spend 300 pounds on a device that will not receive updates and features after 6-12months.

P990i wireless LAN functionality. Advice please. I just had a look through the PDF manual for the P990i but couldn't find the answer, so I am hoping that someone here as the answers. 1. WiFi Ad Hoc network I note that one can connect to Hotspots but can one connect to an Ad Hoc network, say a laptop, and if so how/what settings (or is an app needed)? 2. WiFi file browsing I would like to be able to connect to another computer by WiFi, see the files on that computer and to be able to exchange files between the two devices by WiFi. Is this possible? 3. WiFi file transfer If browsing is not possible I would at least like to be able to send files from and to the P990i by WiFi. Is this possible? (I note that the Send option of the inbuilt file browser has options only for Bluetooth and IR) 4. WiFi back-up device I would be extremely happy if I could use the P990i as a backup device. What I would like to be able to do is to set my laptop or camera to automatically send files to the P900i by WiFi and for the P990i to receive them into a folder on the external Memory Stick. Is this at all possible?

4s microphone has malfunctioned on most outgoing calls for many months. People can't hear me for first 10 seconds of outgoing phone calls. I've synched w healthy Macbook Pro, replaced SIM cards, replaced iPhone 4s when Apple Store thought it was probably a hardware problem, called Applecare (no mic issue admitted). OS problem???
