Sony Ericsson :: Vivaz - Perfect Settings For Handset Required?
Sep 17, 2010Not really happy with Vodafone-branded Vivaz and H3G USIM:
- unable to access Skype and FB through H3G; when I click on FB icon, it gets into loop and the only way out is to switch off the Vivaz; tried all sorts of setting, also through SE support
- switch language only after reboot
- Vivaz gets hot after few minutes of simple conversation
- How does it manage groups in phonebook? should be possible to mark contacts as belonging to group and then be able to send msg to "groups";
- Even with flat rate mobile internet by H3G (Italy) I get charged extra, no idea why (for sure provider dependent), how to leave only certain sites accessible? Is it possible they charge me when I use it over my WiFi connection?
- Would love to unbrand Vivaz but afraid SE warranty wouldn't cover.
Can you help with perfect setting?

Jan 5, 2010Regarding debranding C902,however i copy the xml file in phone with the help of A2uploader but after that i have to update it but when i try to start every time the SEUS says press C button n connect cabel and then Start ,i did so Alot of time but its not conecting, the Cabel is ok usb flash drivers are installed because A2uploader is working on but y this is not conecting m i doing sumthing wrong to connect it, the page which i m posting is there it take lonf time to confirm? or it,s not connected that's y?

Jul 23, 2010why does W395 has no software supports? The phone is really slow,and most of the jar(*.jar)files doesn't support the phone. The phone doesn't support multi tasking either,i tried call recording and got this message that it doesn't support multitasking.
The phone is cute and all but with no software support and being really slow,its a real pain. I hope sony ericsson team comes up with a software update for this model. I'm really looking forward to it. The phone also supports motion gaming and it would be nice if the site provided some games supporting this feature.
Sony Ericsson :: W995 - Audio And Software Updates Keep Failing
Oct 7, 2010On my W995 my alarm, music and video files make no sound & I have no ringtone or message alert sound. Music files sometimes say they're playing but with no sound and other times say they're failed. The speakers are working when I'm on the phone to someone and the radio will play. The alarm is from phone memory and other bits from memory card. I've tried all the usual turn it on & off, battery, memory card etc in and out. Have reset to factory settings & been through every option in the phone but can't find anything to help. I have been trying to update the software but I have tried three times and each time it fails but won't say why. I don't know if this would even solve the audio problem!

Mar 7, 2010So, I saved up some cash, and am selling some stuff to get about 300-350 pounds budget for a new phone. I'm very tempted to get the N97 mini. It has good audio quality (gsmarena tests) pretty decent pictures, WiFi, GPS, qwerty keyboard and a nice screen. What does SE have to offer that will give me good music, photos and connectivity? WiFi is pretty important and a qwerty keyboard is a big plus. Another thing that stops me from spending so much money on a brand new SE is their lack of updates when it comes to fixing bugs and adding features.
I still see Nokia pumping out N95 firmwares that get new features and fixes. The SE phones I owned could've got new features but SE never bothered. Take smile shutter on the C510 for example, they could've and in my opinion should have also made an update to include the feature in it's bigger sister the C702. But they didn't. I don't want to spend 300 pounds on a device that will not receive updates and features after 6-12months.

Aug 12, 2011so, yesterday afternoon, i factory reset my dx2. i suddenly started having issues while walking through setup. original ota gb, no hacks, no roots.i was able to successfully set up my google account, opt to skip verizon backup, & then it gives me a connectivity error w/ (3) options of "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". the setup skips the screen to set up my various 3rd party accounts such as Internet, facebook, yahoo, picasa, etc. when attempting to setup my accounts via "settings" afterward, it only lists (6) of the typical 12-15 options.this just started yesterday for me & did not occur on the previous 5 factory resets performed over the last week.
the error screen presented during setup after electing to skip backup assistant states something about "connectivity is required to complete setup", giving me (3) options. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". "retry" & "setup wifi" are still unsuccessful. selecting "skip" bypasses the ability to set up accounts.additionally, once on the home profile, "system update" states that a "motorola service account is required", giving me the same options as during setup. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". and trying to "add accounts" via "settings" only displays (6) available types, half of which give intermittent crazy errors about "problems with my clock on this device." or "timed out" & "your account may not be successfully setup".

Aug 22, 2010I'm trying to download a new software update for my W760a, because it tells me it cannot add anymore contacts and I can't recieve or send texts/ phone calls. When I try to go to the software updates on the W760a hompepage, it loads a blank page. It just says on the tab "Sony Ericsson Support Phones Topic Updateserviceapplication W760a", and loads a blank page. Please help me with this problem as I wish to continue using my new phone.

Oct 13, 2010As the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues...
1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it.
2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.

Apr 12, 2010Please help someone I have encountered my first Elm problem. Over night I charged the phone & this morning it's still charging & will not pass 66% charge. I took battery out put back in & charged with the phone off for another hour. When switched back on it was now @ 65% This was after another hour of charging with the phone off. I then did a master reset of all not just settings. Charged it up again for a further hour & still the charge is not increasing. Please help what the hell is going on? This battery has a mind of it's own. I have a feeling something has occured since I kept plugging & unplugging quite often the phone in & out of my pc. So maybe it's caused this I do not know. Please any suggestions this phone has been reliable upto this piont

Oct 14, 2010I am having trouble with the GPS on my vivaz.The problem is that it seems to be having trouble finding the satellites and at best only picks up one, giving me a message that says "GPS works poorly indoors and in enclosed areas".I have had the phone for about two months now and it did work perfectly at first, I have fitted a zagg invisible skin to the phone and cannot recall if I had used the GPS with it fitted but have tried with the back cover removed and the invisible skin peeled back where the GPS sensor is located but to no avail. Jul 2, 2010I got my satio in may and didnt even have it for a month before things went wrong. firstly, i was never able to send a MMS to a virgin mobile phone. and then i wasnt able to send a text message to anyone. i called SE and they did all this stuff and called my carrier AT&T and nothing was wrong with my service because i put my SIM in my old phone and was able to send MMS and SMS. so SE said i had to send my satio in for repair(why they didnt just replace the phone i have no idea) and now i am waiting for parts. its been 2 weeks since i sent my phone in. and now i hear there isnt going to be another update? theres slight problems with this phone that if were fixed, it would beat the iphone and droid by a mile. i was just getting used to my satio and then i had to return it. they say i probably wont get it back until the 8th of july. thats just crazy in my opinion. why didnt they just replace the phone? when i looked into the satio as my new phone it looked so cool and when i got it i was so amazed by it. i even got a manuel in a different language, had to call SE and they said they wont send me an english manuel and that i should just look it up on their website since they update the software a lot...well apparently they dont since they havent updated it in months. to say the least, i am disapointed in SE with their future of the satio.

Aug 6, 2010I can't decide should I buy Elm or Hazel? I heard about all those firmware update and thats new to me, because I never did anything like that to my old K750i. Sep 30, 2010I bought my cell in June 2009, it works perfectly fine. I used to use wi-fi nearly 5 times in a day (my house has wi-fi) And suddenly about a month back, my wi-fi has stopped working. I mean, it doesn't detect any available networks at all. Earlier it used to automatically detect my home network, but now even if I try to search available networks it shows a blank list - I have even tried searching in places like airports, hotels, etc. as Wi-Fi was one of the main reasons I bought this phone for.
