View 3 RepliesFor a long time AT&T nee Cingular has locked me out of their MEdia (AT&T) Mall, and prevented me from running desirable apps by signing them with a "secret" certificate only available on their branded phones.Well, thanks to a2uploader and the recent acquisition of a locked AT&T phone I have been able to snag these Preferred and Trusted Java signing root certificates. As well as the entire AT&T customization package, which gives me a good template to play with my own if I so desire. (As an aside, I can also now download from the AT&T Mall using a Firefox add-on which allows me to spoof a particular supported phone's User-Agent string.)I digress. When I sent these certificates to my unlocked K850i it places them in the Trusted Cert store rather than the Java Cert store and the apps still have problems running and fail to install using the signed JAD. I have not tried it, but I assume my K790a will behave the same way. Now, the XML which defines the AT&T customizations references the certificates as well as the proper store location for them. Is this my only way to force a cert into the Java store? This also leads into how can I install client certificates?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know AmazeGPS, Nav4all, wisepilot, wayfinder etc. but they all have maps online. Are there satnav programs for java phones (Elm) with offline maps too? Or maybe via a hack?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI performed a firmware update on my Elm j10i2 phone. I am able to connect with a Wi-Fi and browse web pages with it, but i cannot use Wi-Fi anymore for e-mail or Java Me apps.
My settings are:
Internet settings: allow local connections
Streaming settings: allow local connections
Wi-Fi : connected with a favorite and high-priority network
If i look for IMAP4/SMTP connection settings, i get the "internet settings" menu, indicating 'allow local connections Yes', but you cannot save it (it says not available now, probably because it expects GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts)
If i check my e-mail, i get the message "you have to select an internet account now" - after confirmation, i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu.
If i start a Java application (for example AccuWeather), it does not connect over Wi-Fi, and if i choose the app's options, and then "internet settings", i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu, this time indicating 'allow local connections No'.
Did I miss some settings menu somewhere ? Or do you need to configure GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts to get it right?
It's pretty annoying because Wi-Fi was my main incentive to buy this phone.
Every time I try to install a java application on my wife's k800i I get the message 'operation failed'. I am sure I am doing things correctly because I do the same thing with my c902 and it works fine. Any ideas?

No MH100 BT headset - just a standard wired stereo headset.
No EC100 docking station - just a standard charger.
No 8GB SD card - just a 2GB one.
Available in Germany from June, the "normal" Aino will go out of production. Is that really? What we are waiting for. What we are looking forward, end at this point! I wonder what is gonna happen to JAVA OS.
I've searched for a remove-java-security-popups patch for K610, but can't find one. Does anyone have on lying around? I currently have a remove-java patch for W800 and K800. If you have one for other SE models, please send to mr_lou (at) vip dot cybercity dot dk or attach here.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of apps from Sony Ericsson's web site including a game that I used to play on my Sony Ericsson Z520a phone previoulsy, called "Quadrapop." It's a free Java application, and there was a version specific to the Satio, which is also an S60 5 edition phone, just like the 5800 which I am trying to install on.
When I try installing it, I get a message, "Certificate error" followed by something to the effect of, "contact supplier" I have been able to install some other Satio Java apps on my 5800, but not Quadrapop. Is there anything I can do do get around this issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if anybody else knew about the following or if it is wrong and may harm my phone. I went onto the playnow site on my phone via internet search. Whilst on it I scrolled down the bottom of the screen and clicked free stuff and lots more stuff came up available than when I go on playnow on my laptop. I downloaded a few and they all seem to work although they pop up with a strange type of keypad thing under neath the application when its open.
I then went back onto the play now site. I was on and was looking about when I noticed it had a bit that said : country - uk your phone - w880i. I didn't put this in it was already there. Mine is the Vivaz handset and yet the applications seem to work ok under the w880i phone. Should it not be compatible? should I remove the apps I downloaded this way of my phone to prevent a problem etc? I am so confused at the moment as to whether it is safe etc. for my phone. As I didn't expect it to happen. I always thought when you go onto a site like play now it would know what phone is being used.
I'm having trouble logging into the Facebook App on my Elm, via Wifi. I was wondering if anybody else was having similar trouble and if they found a solution?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use windows live as my IM client, hence my first instinct when entering the IM app was to input my details and the app would do all the work, but I saw a blank field asking for the web address of the IM server. I have tried all kinds of addresses and searched all sorts of sites for the right address, but I still get the "cannot connect to the service" error.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I open IM on my Vivaz Pro, I am prompted to create a server. When I click Yes, I am shown a screen with "access point in use" as one of the options. It is currently set to "must be defined". When I press it to edit it (I cannot save with the setting "must be defined") I am prompted to "define an access point in settings. I return to the main menu and open settings>connectivity>destinations, the only screen I have found with references to access points. After setting all access points on this screen to my home WiFi network, I return to IM only to be faced with the exact same problem. Also, I have set my home WiFi network up in the settings page, but whenever I leave that page, it changes from "connected" to "known", preventing me from accessing the internet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter looking over upgrade options, he settled on a Vivaz. We have AT&T's Family Plan. He proceeded to start using the built-in Instant Messaging app, which I endorsed because it had the AOL Instant Messenger logo right in it. I assumed that the Instant Messenger use would use his Internet Data Plan. Surprise when I got the first month's bill and AT&T saw fit to route those messages out their SMS system and hit me with close to $40 in "extra TXT" fees. I'm going to ruin one of their employee's day tomorrow. But that's not why I'm here. I deleted that infernal IM app and have found eBuddy, with which I am familiar. I have downloaded it to the Vivaz and it runs, but when it starts is asks for permission to use the Internet, and then it sits there and says "installing". WHen I click "Cancel", I am told: "Your Internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later. Check your phone manual or www.ebuddy.com on how to do this." Well, neither place mentions anything about this. How can I get this application to run?
