Aug 7, 2010I sold my Omnia i900 and now I only have the C902, I'm looking for a replacement phone and came across ELM and it it around US$230 in my country. Here are my questions
1) Is it a good deal ?
2) What about signal reception issues ? are they fixed with the latest firmware?
3) Screen quality is better than C902 or or worse ?
4) found a slightly used X10 mini for US$280.
What is the phone I should go with? ELM or the X10 mini.
Sony Ericsson :: K850i - Any Phone Good For Image Stabilization?
Jan 25, 2010I love the K850i. I could take a picture of a desk fan turned on with it, and it would look like it was off. Its image stabilizer was simply amazing. I never go down mega pixels. I currently have a w995. But, how good is the C905 for image stabilization? I tried the Satio. No good. Nor was Aino. I guess my question is what phone has got image stabilization the same as the k850i with over 5mp.

Feb 28, 2010I am having some problems especially with the camera. Before the C902 I had a W580i and I swear that the picture quality was way better on that phone that it is on the C902.Also the menus load kind of slow. Do you think that the firmware I am running is the cause of all this mischief?

Jul 19, 2010I don't think anyone will remember it, but I posted here on esato a while back asking advice about getting a smartphone, as I couldn't decide what to get. Well, long story short, I found a good deal on a N97 shortly after that and I took it, even if it meant betraying SE, since I really needed a good smartphone at the time. And lets just say it wasn't one of the smarter decisions I've made in my life. Sure, it served its purpose well, thanks to the good WiFi connection, the convenient qwerty, decent camera etc., but aside from that everything about it was so boring, and above all, really sluggish. Needless to say, I quickly started to regret switching from SE.
Well, I've learned my lesson, so to speak, and now it's all in the past, because fortunately I managed to sell it. Plus, things have changed, and I dont have the need for an all-conquering smartphone anymore. So now I'm trying to find a good enough successor to my good old trusty W810. Which is still performing flawlessly, mind you.
But I guess after all these years its time for an update, and here's where I need your help. What I'm looking for is basically an updated version of the W810, with the same strong points, such as good camera + good music capabilities. After a bit of research, I've narrowed it down to either the W902 or the newer Elm.
I guess the perfect match would be an Elm with the W902 looks, since the Elm is, according to reviews, better in the camera/video/sound quality department. Plus, I cant seem to find out if the W902 supports 16 GB cards. I guess the awesome looks of the W902 is really what keep me from going straight for the Elm, while the purple fringing I've seen in W902's photos puts me off quite a bit. And here I am going back and forth, trying to decide between them. And also: is the purple fringing really that bad in the W902 photos? If anybody here had the chance to play with both phones, and have a say on their advantages/weak points, it would be awesome.

Jul 22, 2010I was just wondering if anybody else knew about the following or if it is wrong and may harm my phone. I went onto the playnow site on my phone via internet search. Whilst on it I scrolled down the bottom of the screen and clicked free stuff and lots more stuff came up available than when I go on playnow on my laptop. I downloaded a few and they all seem to work although they pop up with a strange type of keypad thing under neath the application when its open.
I then went back onto the play now site. I was on and was looking about when I noticed it had a bit that said : country - uk your phone - w880i. I didn't put this in it was already there. Mine is the Vivaz handset and yet the applications seem to work ok under the w880i phone. Should it not be compatible? should I remove the apps I downloaded this way of my phone to prevent a problem etc? I am so confused at the moment as to whether it is safe etc. for my phone. As I didn't expect it to happen. I always thought when you go onto a site like play now it would know what phone is being used.

Aug 22, 2010I use windows live as my IM client, hence my first instinct when entering the IM app was to input my details and the app would do all the work, but I saw a blank field asking for the web address of the IM server. Aug 21, 2010When I open IM on my Vivaz Pro, I am prompted to create a server. When I click Yes, I am shown a screen with "access point in use" as one of the options. It is currently set to "must be defined". When I press it to edit it (I cannot save with the setting "must be defined") I am prompted to "define an access point in settings. I return to the main menu and open settings>connectivity>destinations, the only screen I have found with references to access points. After setting all access points on this screen to my home WiFi network, I return to IM only to be faced with the exact same problem.Also, I have set my home WiFi network up in the settings page, but whenever I leave that page, it changes from "connected" to "known", preventing me from accessing the internet.

Oct 24, 2010After looking over upgrade options, he settled on a Vivaz. We have AT&T's Family Plan. He proceeded to start using the built-in Instant Messaging app, which I endorsed because it had the AOL Instant Messenger logo right in it. I assumed that the Instant Messenger use would use his Internet Data Plan. Surprise when I got the first month's bill and AT&T saw fit to route those messages out their SMS system and hit me with close to $40 in "extra TXT" fees. I'm going to ruin one of their employee's day tomorrow. But that's not why I'm here. I deleted that infernal IM app and have found eBuddy, with which I am familiar. I have downloaded it to the Vivaz and it runs, but when it starts is asks for permission to use the Internet, and then it sits there and says "installing". WHen I click "Cancel", I am told: "Your Internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later. Check your phone manual or www.ebuddy.com on how to do this." Well, neither place mentions anything about this. How can I get this application to run?
