Apr 29, 2012I have noticed on this on my Sony Ericsson Xperia ray mobile phone that it makes some kind of sound on the camera application . whenever I try to take the picture or while exiting the application or if I tab the photo that is just taken . it like the small click sound but it very irritating . I am afraid is this my phone or there are some having the same problem on their phone, whether it's a norm .

Satio is the only 12MP phone out there.Can we not have one with a good flash, more memory, 8MP camera and better video? slider?The W995 is not sitting 2nd in the phones4 u chart for nothing. The iphone is top and the satio is no where to be seen as it's a brick and useless. Touch screen phones should always be an oiption but not the standard!..oh and no Symbian either!

May 2, 2010for some new Sony Ericsson phones (I know the W995 has this problem for sure) there is no option to turn off the camera sound or the focus sound, even when silent mode is on. Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this.What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader.
1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp
2. Currently you can choose the following sounds
1. Camera shutter
2. Bear can opening
3.Tennis ball
4. Laser
The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle!You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps! We all know the SE Satio is a mediocre mobile phone but you pay the jackpot of you want to purchase it. For the money people expect a good mobile phone. Those people who buy the phone from the release are realistic enough to know that it may have some bugs or issues but that these will be fixed further on with software updates.
Thus far it had 2 minor updates since it's release. Since it release it had a lot of issues, bugs and shortcomings. Why is a big multinational like SE failing so support of his products? Is it because your focus is more on trying to make your company profitable again? And because of this the support of your many products is just an division which costs money instead of making it? Many Satio customer feel abandoned at this point. Do you think that this the best strategic management? One of the most basic principles of managing a company is getting a core customer base where you can rely on! You are now on systematically destroying a part of your customer base with (atleast) the Satio.
Don't you realize that the customer in times like these are more critical, less brandloyal and above all connected to the whole world through facebook, twitter etc. If you fail with one product this will have it's effect on the sales of the initial product as well as other products. Which will lead to the loss of customers and income. I read so many post from disappointed SE Satio users and there are many people who don't post on internet forums who are unhappy as well.
I don't care what you do with the Satio anymore. My decision is that I move to another brand after about 8 years of SE phones. Many Satio users will do the same. I'm looking forward to your annual reviews for the upcoming years. Maybe you made your company profitable for a few quarters. But as we all know, this kind of management will backfire.

Sometimes when I call people there is a sound in the background (which can be heard by the other person as well) like when you keep the phone near a large speaker (or subwoofer). 1. No flashlight as stated in the specification on SE site!
2. If you choose some of the standart equalizers different from normal everything is ok but when you stop the player and then resume it - it returns to normal equalizer
3. You cannot create custom equalizer settings in walkman player
4. Overall the sound quality is awful - even my old 5 years old k750i (which is not walkman) plays music better.

Sep 9, 2010My wife has a W380i when she calls a person or receives a call, she has to put the phone on speaker for herself or them to be heard we have tried turning up volume and changing profiles etc. Why? All other functions are fine i.e. walkman, games plenty of volume.

Jan 28, 2010I have the W995i, but when ever it vibrates, it’s sounds so cheap and poor and sometimes the two parts of the phone (which slide) vibrate against each other. With the experience of w810i, I thought enabling the Silent Mode would shutdown the shutter sound, but it's not happening.
