I have a Straight Talk Samsung R451c. I keep trying to get Java apps on my phone. I called Samsung and they said it has Java, but Straight Talk disabled that and many more extensions from being downloaded onto the phone. They told me to call Straight Talk, so I did. They said it wouldn't be fair to the other customers if they told me how to enable downloading and Java. That being said, THERE IS A WAY TO HACK IT! Looking at the Samsung website seeing Java enabled is the ONLY reason I bought this phone. Click Here to see the Samsung specs. Not to mention I bought it on eBay for $108 w/accessories.I have another post in the Straight Talk forums, please help me out in trying to figure out how to do this. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1609835View 2 Replies View Related
I recently got the Samsung T528G from Straight Talk and started poking around in the phone. While they say this phone doesn't have GPS capability, I found some menus for LBS (location based services). Some of the test settings appear to reference GPS locations, specifically in Texas. I am not familiar with all of the options and settings in the LBS screen, but is it possible the phone has GPS capability but it's disabled? If so, does anyone know how to enable it or what settings I might try?View 3 Replies View Related
If I was getting a call on my old LG VX4500 I could just touch an outside button once to silence the ringer- but the caller kept ringing until voicemail answered. They'd never know I silenced them. If you hit the button twice, it sent them straight to voicemail. The A870 lets you silence the ringer with one touch. BUT is there a way to send it straight to voicemail? For example, if you had a call coming in but had to make another call first you'd have to wait until the voicemail took over.View 2 Replies View Related
I have recently purchase a Samsung Jack from FIDO but have been experiencing a lot of problems with it. It often enough doesn't deliver the call to my phone and the person dialing my number is sent straight to voicemail without any rings.
Also, my who called messages don't show up when this happens and I don't get a voicemail text message either. If I restart the phone, it often works and if I take the sim card out and put it back into my N95, i get all the who called messages and my missing texts from other people.
I have gone into the store already and done an over the counter exchange for a brand new unit but am have the EXACT same problem. Anyone else have this issue or heard of it or have a solution?
The problem is intermittent and does not occur ALL the time, but MOST of the time.
I am on CITY FIDO Vancouver and am subscribing to who called and name display as well.
I have the Samsung R451c from Straight Talk. I have bluetooth on my computer, and the devices can see each other fine and connect. The problem is when I go to send my pics, ringtones or anything, and choose via bluetooth from my phone, my computer is not listed. So I go back to my registered devices, and my computer is listed. I don't underwstand why it's doing this. Now from my computer I can send files to the phone with no problems. I just can't seem to get the phone to send to the computer, yet it's listed in the registered devices under bluetooth settings. I can see other phones with no issue, and transfer files both ways, it just to this computer this phone has problems with. I have connected many phones to this computer with no problems, so don't understand.View 5 Replies View Related
I have an A T & T iphone 4 on straight talk. It will call, text and email like a pro, but after configuring APN settings, I can't get MMS to work, sending or receiving. Straight talk gave me the mms settings, but I have no way to enter that screen. I'm not jailbroken or unlocked.

I am using a new I phone 4s on Straight Talk and I have only 1 to 2 bars maximum anywhere I go and then it will have no service at all.I was a previous verizon customer and had 4 to 5 sitting in my home now I have 1 or 2 and if I walk around sometimes goes to no service at all. Verizon did not have service everywhere I went but that was in hilly areas as I live in central Illinois and have talked to others with AT&T and they are getting better service than this as that is what towers Straight Talk uses. I am getting a Gel bumper cover and have already tried the black tape it did not help. It says I have 4 G sitting in house but cannot make a call and the 4G goes in and out also.

Sometimes when my wife tries to call my phone will go straight to voicemail, more often than not.

I recently bought a Curve for my Verizon service. I need to lock the keyboard to prevent "butt dialing." This worked great for the first two days; I used the lock icon to lock, and I was able to unlock the keyboard with the *&send button sequence. This is a well thought out feature, and even with my less than perfect vision I am able to do it with one hand without glasses.
As soon as our IT department set up the Blackberry server account, the Curve asked me to enter a new password. I entered my default "work" email password thinking that it was needed to get into my corporate email account.
Now the phone has gone into a mode where it is necessary for me to enter this complex (alpha&num&punct) password even to access non-email features such as my call log.
I cannot enter this password without getting out my eyeglasses and using both hands. This is such a bad situation that if I cannot fix this, I will go back to my old Motorola Q phone.
eliminate (or simplify down to something I can do with one hand) the keyboard lock password. I looked this up and it instructs me to go to "Device Settings" which I cannot find in the menu system of the Curve.
Whenever a unknown caller calls me, the phone shows an little hourglass, vibrates and then goes to voicemail.View 9 Replies View Related

It took some time to upgrade to 2.1 and the process was not as straightforward as I had hoped but I eventually retrieved my contacts and re-installed my apps. Then I found a fundamental problem...I cannot answer any incoming calls!
When I swipe the bar across the screen to answer the phone it goes straight to voicemail. I have searched settings and cannot see why this is happening. Does anyone out there know what am doing or have done wrong?
I know on Google phones, you have an option to be able send a particular contact str8 to voicemail when they call without it ringing, are you able to do such a thing with the BB curve?View 6 Replies View Related
I have a sprint bb curve 8330 and some people are telling me that when they call they are going straight to voicemail. i have full signal at the time. any one know what this could be. i am on the phone now with sprint and they are saying it may be a voice issue but i was wondering if any one has found any other fixes that i could try in the mean time. They did a network refresh and we will see if that is the culpritView 6 Replies View Related

I have a Samsung Blackjack using Cingular service. I am trying to determine if there is available "push email" software so I can eliminate all this spam. Presently I have 2 pop3 accounts set up, but since there is no span s/w for smart phones I get tons of spam. Verizon uses a push software that send the emails to the smart phone from the PC the accounts are set on, after they have gone through the desktop span filter. I can't find anything on the subject on the Cingular web site and went into a local Cingular/ATT office and received stares and funny looks when I described what I was looking for. The manager said there is no such thing, he just deletes the spam after it's delivered.View 2 Replies View Related

My provider just updated their voicemail service, which required me to call my voicemail and go through a long prompt to set everything up.It took two minutes. But within this upgraded voicemail, their password requirements went from a maximum of 8 numbers to a maximum of 7 numbers. Lucky me, I had an 8 number password, so I had to make a new one...once again, no problem. But here is the deal -- I cant get my 8700c to change the voicemail password. So when I call my voicemail, it pauses for three seconds and dials my old password.I cant check my voicemail inbox now because the prompt gets interrupted and it hangs up on me.I have gone to hone>options>voicemail and deleted the password, saved the changes, and gone back again to double check the new password, but it is still the old one.even though I changed it and saved the settings. What can I do to fix this?View 4 Replies View Related
