On my iPhone the default camera app uses the touch to focus feature to also set the exposure. It seems not to be the case on the Galaxy and the only way to change the exposure is to point the camera elsewhere (I tried the 3 different exposure settings also). Is there any kind of 'touch to set the exposure' feature in the default or 3rd party app?
View 2 RepliesI have now paid a premium price for the Xperia Z5 Premium, only to discover that this "Premium" phone does not allow manual exposure settings. Not even after upgrading to the new hyped up camera app V2.
Given the arrogance you (Sony Mobile) are showing towards your customers I am gonna assume you are still not going to listen to your users, and you are not going to reply to this thread, you may even delete it to avoid unnecessary attention to the subject.
After the V2 upgrade taking so long, and still no manual exposure, I find it highly unlikely we will ever get manual exposure settings on the Sony Xperia series. I will sell my Xperia Z5 premium and get myself an LG G4.
I find the camera takes darker pictures, especially in low light, compared to Note 5 (underexposed perhaps? Not a photography buff at all . Also, the snapping pictures in general seems to be slower vs. Note 5.
I currently have both 6p and Note 5 and truly find the Note 5 to have an all-around better camera. 6p but bad by any means, but tough comparing to Note 5.
How do I create a long exposure in Pro Mode? I cannot seem to get this down. If I hold the screen I get the AF/AE lock but how do I actually take a 10 second (or whatever) long exposure pic?

i tried using other camera app but it's no use. the phone has no warranty in my country so i could not have a replacement.
been to the samsung service center also but still no luck.
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe camera will not focus at all on the back. Selfie camera works great right away. After about a minute with the back camera, it will finally focus and work great. All films have been removed from the exterior lens of the camera, so I know this isnt the problem. Camera is on auto focus, too.

before ICS update it was on gingerbread. I tried with KIES but phone developed a fault. It wasn't allowing me to pass "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen. I went to local shop and they sort it out. So i don't know how they did it. Two days later i find that camera is faulty.
Today i updates my galaxy s2 through Samsung Kies. Everything went well and it took about 10 minutes to complete. There is one small problem though i have a pink spot now on my camera!!

here are the symptoms i encounter:
1. video randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, the back light turns off and immediately goes back on and resumes playback. this is regardless where the video is stored.
2. online videos (e.g. from Internet) randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, video is paused and streaming is also restarted.
3. camera momentarily freezes - video display turns off and immediately goes back on as if it has recovered from an error. same is encountered when using the front camera.
also, if you know the web browser 'dolphin', it has a feature of 'keep screen on' that will keep the back light on even if there is no activity on the phone. however, since my phone is acting weird lately, the backlight of my phone turns off after some time even if the 'keep screen on' feature is enabled.
this gave me an impression that the problem must be somewhat related to the backlight or memory. but i am not really sure. i tried to power off the phone, removed the battery, removed the sim, removed the sd, but the problem still persists.
this is annoying as hell because i cannot watch videos smoothly anymore and my video calls randomly stops.
other details of my phone:
- not rooted
- android version 2.3.3
- system storage 894mb free out of 1.97gb
- usb storage 5.66gb/ 11.5gb
- sd card 192mb / 1.9 gb
- ram ~400-550mb / 837mb
My camera creates a pink area in the center of the image. I' running official 2.3.5.
