Picked up a Playbook last week, and need to upgrade my Torch.Initially I was just thinking of going with the 9810, but then thought that since I have the big screen of the Playbook, why not just get the 9900 with the better keyboard (and no need to slide it out all the time).
I have a Torch 9810 and PlayBook..Torch 9810 7.1 bundle 2061..Blackberry Bridge 2.1.0.26..PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1088..BES is used..The Bridge connects to the PlayBook and will allow remote control and bridge browser to be used. However, although the email, text and BBM alert icons appear on the PlayBook they cannot be opened. The Bridge contacts and calender will also not open on the Playbook. When attempting to open Text messages on the PlayBook the notice "Text Messages was disabled by IT policy" is displayed. There is no IT Policy in place. When attempting to open BBM on the PlayBook the notice "You must accept the BlackBerry Messenger Licence Agreement on your smartphone to use BBM on your PlayBook". It has been accepted on the phone.I've tried unpairing, rebooting both devices and repairing to no avail.
I have just spent ages on the support line talking to someone who didn't seem to know any thing. How do I copy the contacts from my bold 9900 to my new playbook? When I try to sync with my laptop it only offers media sync and the gives a message that I have not selected media to sync.
opying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).
I am looking for a tablet that will support Autocrat or dwg review. I am loyal Blackberry customer. I need to have capability to review dwgs and mark them up in field. Would like to buy playbook.
Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Android; Opera Mini/6.1.25577/25.858; U; en) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54)I think it's quite obvious that RIM is going to be dumping the Playbook soon.
Is it possible to FLASH a pure Android OS onto this thing, thus making it worth owning?
I've experimented with the Apple bluetooth keyboard that came out with the iPads and it seems to work well with limitations on certain keys (ie. some keys like the volume and function keys just don't work). I'm still deciding whether it is really worth the investment...the keyboard is almost full size and is easy to type quickly on.
I'm having issues pairing my device (9320) with my new Blackberry Playbook. The software on my phone is 7.1 Bundle 2039. I can pair both devices together through Blackberry Bridge but it shows that I've recieved new emails but doesnt let me open them.
I paired the Playbook with a friends phone (9360) which operates on a different system 7.1 Bundle 1133. And this works fine and we can access the emails and the device and playbook work fine.
The BlackBerry Presenter [URL] does not list the PlayBook as one of the devices with which it will operate. Does this mean that it doesn't work with the PlayBook?
I forgot my password for my playbook and so looked myself out and had to start again but to do this it keeps asking for a password. How do i find it to unlock the Wi-Fi.
we play music out of the speakers all the time, and to be honest the speakers are really good for this type of device. But is there any speaker docks available? Would be great to have one that charges to. I'm in UK btw.Or does the rapid charger dock have a speaker/connection out to connect to some do speaker's ? If not what do people use?
My 9300 was working fine bridging to my Playbook. They I started getting an error message on opening Calendar on the Playbook. Contacts etc were still working fine. I UnInstalled Bridge on the 9300 but cannot now reinstall as no "Reinstall" button appears.Only a "Contact Support" button appears and that just directs me to FAQs.
Is there an app that allows 5250 Emulation on the PlayBook and if there is can it connect back through the BES connection of the BlackBerry to get to an internal network?
I have a playbook which i registered my blackberry ID with. However I just purchased a torch 9810 and I am trying to sign into my Blackberry ID (to register) and it keeps telling me invalid username or password, but I can sign in on my pc and on the playbook.
I have two laptops by HP with Windows 7. I am using them as development machines. On one I can connect the playbook but on the other one I cannot connect it. It always goes into driver installation mode. No matter how many times I have reinstalled the driver, it doesn't detect the playbook. WiFi connection works though. The USB connection fails.
I am trying to access App World with my playbook. I do not have wifii but have successfully connected to the internet using the blackberry bridge and tethering feature.
My smart phone - the bold 9000 - is tethered to the playbook; I can access app world from my phone; My phone is on a 3G network.
The message I get is that I am not connected via Wifii and cannot access app world. But, if I can access the internet, why can't I access app world?
My playbook just decided not to connect to the wifi. I have my friends playbook right beside it, I checked to make sure all the settings were the same, yet it won't connect.
The bars are not illuminated.
When I goto to setup I can connect, and it appears to connect, then when I goto the main screen it is not connected. My playbook is a few months old (and I have connected to many Wifis) and I recently updated (mid-feb) to the new operating system, but it has been working fine until yesterday.
Im not able to turn on my playbook. I have it pluged in and it is not charging no light is comming on, I have tried pluging it into my computer and to the charger, nothing works?
i got a new BB Playbook but cannot connect to my Laptop. I have upgraded to the latest software and my laptop has Windows 7 Service Pack 1 in it. Why is this so difficult? I have followed all steps i know and advised in the threads but still it's not straight-forward.
I've just updated the OS to 2.0 and all the apps just crashes on me and the playbook would not do anything. Tried to restart it three times already and still the same problem. Now, after a 4th restart, the machine would not even let me log in.
In App World, Under "My World", I am unable to see a delete button for the app "Resistor Ohm".I've upgraded to the latest OS version. I suspect the disappearance of the button is due to the app not being declared compatible with my OS version. While I can understand not being able to install the app anew, there should always be a way to delete an installed app.
