BB Software :: Restore RSS Feeds In Social Feeds After OS Update?
Jan 26, 2011I cannot find any documentation of how to do this other than manually reentering all of the feeds. I cannot believe that the RSS feeds aren't backed up somewhere in the full backup file like the BBM contact list is. Does anyone know ehere the data is and how it can be backed up and restored?

Jan 9, 2010The rss feed reader refuses to download any rss feeds. neither the two pre-installed ones, nor any other. once, i managed to download an opml file on my phone and using that i was able to physically add a new rss feed which however contained no posts and failed to update. all the other times pressing "subscribe to rss feed" in the browser opens the reader and after approving by pressing the "done" button it tries to connect to the feed for 1-2 min without success.

Aug 9, 2010I have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

Jul 27, 2010On my N97 mini i select a contact out of the contact-list, i select the correct phone-number and make the call. After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....

Jan 2, 2010I wonder if anyone can help me. I am using the nokia 5310 and even though I am using a sim card with all my names stored in it, when I get a call or a text from someone who is in my phonebook it still just shows up as a number.
Also the names are not in order in my phone book.I am using this phone in Canada, and I got it from Ireland so the time on my incoming messages is 5 hours behind.So many issues!!

Jun 18, 2010I broke the screen of my 6280 so used a different phone for a while and now that I've repaired it and put the sim card back in the phone displays the number rather than the name in the text inbox. When I try to add the number to the contact it says it's in use for the contact bla bla. The numbers get displayed in the +44 format and are saved in the domestion 07xx format but I can't overwrite it because it then recognises the number.

Jun 5, 2011How do I gain access to the RSS feeds set up in my device? The only access I was able to figure out is to set an RSS widget on the home screen. However, I cannot delete any RSS feeds. And I cannot find any app or setting to manage them. In addition, setting up the update interval for RSS feeds would be helpful. The RSS widget does not seem to comply with the "widgets offline" status. It updates the feed every 4 hours regardless of the widget settings. I am using a Nokia E7, but I assume that this applies to any Symbian^3 device with PR1.1 installed.

Jun 12, 2014I've been able to add custom RSS feeds to Blinkfeed, but how can I get them into the Highlights? Right now the only way to access those feeds is to swipe from the left and select each individual custom feed, which results in Blinkfeed only showing items from that one custom feed. Then I have go back and do the same for each other custom feed, and then once again to get back to Highlights.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to see the items from all of the feeds (custom and otherwise) in the Highlights category so I don't have to go back and forth.
The customization within Settings "Add topics to Highlights" doesn't give me the option to add the custom feeds.
IPhone :: Remove Podcast Feeds On It?
Mar 23, 2012I've amassed quite a few podcast feeds on my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) and wanted to remove them to free up memory on the phone. (I don't syncy through iTunes on my mac, I download them direct to the phone.) I usually just swipe and delete and removed them all last night in this way. But now all podcasts and feeds appear ghosted and can't be played or swiped. The funny thing is, the memory seems to have been freed up, so although they appear ghosted on the phone, are not actually there. I just want to remove the whole list and start again. I've tried the Settings > Usage > Music > Edit route and podcasts ahev doisappeared too.

Aug 21, 2010Has anyone been able to add RSS feeds from the browser. The documentation claims you can, by going to the site that has RSS on it and hitting the menu button, then hitting Page Action.No such Page Action option is in my browser.

Aug 26, 2010Did you notice your rss feeds icon changed? I just noticed mine a few minutes ago. My icon used to be an orange square-looking icon but now it's an abstract-looking yellow-green icon. I didn't update or changed anything on my phone. Is anyone else noticing that? The alert icon which shows when you have a new feed is still orange but when I open the app, the icon on the left of each feed is that abstract-looking yellow green icon.

Jan 27, 2012Last night the Icon to make the OS upgrade of my Bold 9930 appeared on my cellphone menu panel and I did it. My current SO is the 7 and it said was going to upgrade to the 7.1 version. After it downloaded the 50 Mb file, it started to Backing Up the Data and since then, 6 or 8 hours ago, it is STUCK on the Social Feeds (3%). I wish I hadn't made the stupid upgrade.My cellphone is indispensable to do my job, now I'm also STUCK. I'm trying the update with the BB connected to my Laptop using the Blackberry Device Software, but it is STUCK too.

BB Curve :: Trying To Back Up Social Feeds Without Connection
Jul 11, 2012I had scheduled a software update last night, scheduled for 2300 UK time. When I woke, I found my phone was off and the charger had come out of my phone. When turning my phone on again, it immediately started backing up software, which was fine until it began updating social feeds. Due to the fact it had not been charging all night, it was not connected to a network meaning it is currently showing 'Social Feeds 0%'. Sadly, I cannot leave this screen and so it has been trying to back up social feeds without connection for the last 6 hours.
