Nokia :: X6 - Typing On Landscape Qwerty Mode
Mar 17, 2010Coming from a N70, I consider upgrading to a X6. However, I found typing on my wife's 5800 (landscape qwerty mode) quite erroneous and hard to get used to. Can anyone who has used both the 5800 and the X6 intensively let me know how they compare in terms of typing ease and speed?

Apr 14, 2011I have a loose slider when i have my phone is "closed" There is a gap between the screen and the controller pad, that often when i use the touchscreen the touchscreen "clicks" because of the gap.Especially noticeable when I am laying down and have the phone upwards. Extremeley irritating.
I if turn the phone upside down, there is a play / gap that descends approx 1mm, and this is the gap that clicks whenever i use the touchscreen. a P
Is all Xperia play this? I also have a PSP Go, and there is nog such gap / loose slider.
Samsung :: Solstice - Qwerty Keyboard In Portrait And Landscape Mode
Apr 1, 2010Just got a Samsung solstice. Had a quick question about it. Any time that I need to type something, I turn the phone on it's side to get to the qwerty keyboard. However, When I'm going through my contacts and I need to type in the search field, I turn the phone on it's side but it does not give me the qwerty keyboard. Can anyone confirm this? Just trying to make sure AT&T didn't give me a bad phone or something.

However if I then exit the keyboard or turn the phone into its portrait position any entered text then appears. The problem happens ntermittently and disappears if I restart the phone. The phone is only two days old and I have already had to restart it 4 times.

Aug 4, 2011I have a Nokia E7 product code 059F7J6 (language set 014.002.09.01). Phone language and writing language is set to english but I have a problem with the QWERTY keypad. Keypad special characters (the one in yellow) on the keypad do not correspond with the special characters printed on the screen. Example letter D should print "&" as a special character instead it prints "=". It's the with almost all other characters. I am not sure whether this is a language pack problem or not.

Jun 6, 2012For some strange reason the keypad that comes with Xperia mini pro doesn't work at all except when trying to unlock the screen. This is seen after the ICS Update (done today).

The on-screen keypad seems to work OK.Anybody seen this after updating their mini-pros....Checked that 'Xperia keyboard' service is running. The input method in the keyboard setting is 'Xperia keyboard'.

BB Bold :: Screen Goes Black But Lights On The Keypad?
Apr 19, 2012The screen goes black after the backlight comes on but the light does not return. Everything is functioning like I get notifications, I receive calls and bbm's but the thing is I can't check them because the screen is black. There is static as well at the top but it it is black and blurry, sometimes I could see the name of the service provider as well as the battery icon.What would work sometimes is if I do a battery pull but that is rare. Also if I lock the screen then wait a while and then press any button between the end call and receive it would come back on. But that is becoming rare as well. The system on the phone is full functional but its the screen that stays black.Sometimes if I'm lucky it would go away and I would be able to use the screen. But when that happens I would have to constantly be pressing a button to keep the phone active so it does not go on backlight setting from inactivity. U can imagine how annoying that is huh?

Sep 28, 2011I've bought this phone regardless of those bad things that has been mentioned in those threads, because I want it and it relatively cheap anyway.My E6 is almost bug free, yes almost.
1. After unboxing, I update the firmware to v22.
2. Quickly do "Delete Data and Restore".
3. Installing Remind Me.
4. Done.
I did not experienced the self restart, the disfunctional pick call after screen lock, etc. My battery also lasted more than one day, it is almost 1.5 day now with 2 bar left in heavy usage (wifi, bluetooth, angry birds, fruit ninja, messaging, some calls).So, what bugs left?
1. The keypad lights is turned off when the display brightnes is less than the mid point of the slider.
2. The notification lights in the middle of dpad is still barely visible even when I use the Remind Me, faulty design in my opinion.
3. The mail widget sometimes did not update the mails that displayed, even though the mail client is already showing the new mails. I need to remove then add the widget again to fix it or restart the phone..

Mar 15, 2010I purchased a nokia 5230/5233 a month ago, everything worked fine until until the day before, at about 7:30 in the evening the day before, I discovered my screen wouldn't go into the landscape mode upon tilting, i restarted the phone, removed battery, formatted my memory card (could be a possibility of some corrupt 3rd party software install), later my friend suggested restoring the factory settings, I did so and everything was normal, the screen would go into landscape mode, but yesterday at around same time the problem recurred exactly after about 24 hrs, restored the factory settings and now things work what could be this problem? can someone throw light into this?

Jul 5, 2010I have been having an issue with the email app included on the Rant while trying to reply in QWERTY mode.
It tends to freeze, not allowing text entry to continue. The QWERTY keypad was one of the things that drew me to this phone, and the application I most need that keypad for is the email.
I tend to think it has something to do with a character limit, though that wouldn't really explain why I can close the keypad and revert to T9 to continue without it freezing.
How to fix this without giving up on the QWERTY keypad altogether?
