Nokia :: E72 - Cannot Turn Off WLAN Display After Reset
Jul 7, 2010I have an E72-2 with F/W 31.023. The phone has been working very well until I recently performed a hard reset. After doing the reset (*#7370#) I have not been able to disable the Select Wlan network display. The display is popping up randomly and is getting very annoying. I have gone into settings and set "show WLAN availability" to Never but the phone seems to just ignore the settings and keeps randomly displaying the select WLAN network notice.
I have tried hard resetting, soft resetting, pulling the battery for a period of time and even tried reloading the 31.023 firmware but nothing seems to be working to disable this annoying "feature". Is there anything else I can do to turn this off? Any other suggestions? Third party app maybe that gives enough control over the WLAN capability to disable It? I really like this phone and keyboard, but I don't know how much longer I can put up with this random display. I hate having to keep hitting cancel, sometimes when I'm in the middle of something else.

Jul 29, 2012im am trying to hide SMS notification on the Display of my Nokia Lumia 800, because if i leave my Phone somewhere one the Table, everybody can read my sms and the sender. That is making me really nervous and i have always to hide my phone in my pocket. I searched over internet and in discussion board, also on troubleshooting page, but still couldn't find any help. Im using more than 12 years only Nokia and until now, i haven't experience any trouble like this. But since windows phone, i think everything is more complicated with Nokia Phones.

wlan policy: never router for tests: fritz box, speedport, lancom, d-link -> all with same result
I have test without encryption and with encryption, with channel manually and automatical and mode b/g/n and b/g, with ssid enabled and disabled -> all with same result I have test the same configurations with iPhone, Samsung and HTC. -> works fine....
Only neo v doesnīt connect automatical to wlan, if its in range.

Jun 28, 2012setup push notifications to my emails only to be functional between the hours of 7am to 11pm? My partner has a Samsung Galaxy and is able to do that. My old Blackberry could also do that but I cannot find that function with my iPhone4.

Jul 30, 2015It there a way to NOT show certain app's notification on the lockscreen? I came from LG G2 CM12 to Samsung stock (rooted 5.1.1).
In CM12 there is an option for each app to control that (see screenshot below).
But in Samsung rom, there is no such option and I can only hide the content of notification (but not the notification itself). Or I can disable all notifications on lockscreen, which is not what I want.

Jun 10, 2015I use the default Calendar app on my S5 with several Gmail accounts, all which have default reminder settings. None of those accounts will use my default for calendar reminders, even after Syncing and rebooting. I've gone into my phone settings and searched for Notification, Reminder and Calendar and none of those settings have default reminders. I can only select to enable to disable these options.

In other words... I want all notifications at the top of the home screen, just like always... but I only want text messages to show up on the ambient display. Not every piece of junk mail I receive, or ebay notices, etc.
I am about to just turn it off, but am hoping I can get it to only show SMS (texts).

The only problem is that they only display for a few seconds and they usually vanish before I can get to the phone to see what the notification was, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to pull up a list of old notifications. So I'm wondering if there's any way to make these notifications display longer. Right now, they seem to be about five seconds and they're gone. I'd like to extend that to at least ten seconds. And is there any way to pull up a list of old notifications so I can see what I might have missed when I was away from my phone?

However what I notice is that for certain apps like the ovi store or maps, I cannot choose a connection which it should go through, and it always connects through my operator's network instead of my WLAN which is in range...How can I change connection behavious for these (and other) applications? I already set my connection order to Wlan first and then the operator connection, which works fine for ebuddy to give an example...so what's wrong with the other stuff?

Apr 8, 2010How do you use the GPS under your WLAN? I got the GPS working once.used it and it was fine. But ever since then I haven't been able to get it to work. I have set my connection to 'online' and the Network destination to 'Internet' (VF Au Internet). When i try to use it all it says in the top right hand corner is connecting, but never connects. Other times it says sign in and I attempt to but says there is 'no connection'.Sometimes when i change some of these options to test it it freezes on me and sometimes resets itself.What settings are wrong or what am I doing wrong?

Jul 21, 2010i have 2 annoying problems with my Nokia X6 16GB: Problem 1: I cannot browse the internet using a wireless LAN Connection (WLAN). i manage to connect to my wireless network at home but every time i want to go to a website i get the following error 'invalid server name'. i used the connection wizard to connect. i added my home network as 'access point' , nothing seems to work. i thought maybe it is a firmware problem. now the latest firmware release is 21.0.004 i still have 20.0.005. so i tried to update my firmware using the 'nokia software updater'. which brings me to my next problem: Problem 2: Nokia software updater says i have already the latest firmware while i read on the site of nokia the latest firmware for my phone is 21.0.004. how's that possible? since i can't get the new firmware using the 'nokia software update', does anyone know how i can? i do not want to use the software updater on my phone since i have a prepaid SIM card, and connecting to the internet would cost me a lot of money. I've read somewhere that the software was not available 'in each region'. i live in Belgium (small country in West Europe), can i check anywhere if the software is available 'in my region'?

I've just got my O2 bill and found that in fact I've been charged for using the wlan which is something of a surprise. It's really not a lot of money but when you expect no charge at all.Have I failed to set something correctly? Jun 3, 2010Upgraded from an N96 to an X-6 and I have a problem - can't access the internet or nokia music store or ANYTHING. It did with the N96, the only thing that's changed is the phone. In the wlan conn manager it shows as connected but when i start the browser it comes up "no gateway reply". I think I may have to start from fresh and re-enter the security settings but I can't find them.
