Galaxy S6 :: How To NOT Display Certain Apps Notifications
Jul 30, 2015
It there a way to NOT show certain app's notification on the lockscreen? I came from LG G2 CM12 to Samsung stock (rooted 5.1.1).
In CM12 there is an option for each app to control that (see screenshot below).
But in Samsung rom, there is no such option and I can only hide the content of notification (but not the notification itself). Or I can disable all notifications on lockscreen, which is not what I want.
I have a Galaxy S6 64 GB from T-Mobile, running 5.1.1 with TouchWiz. For whatever reason, I'm not getting notifications from apps like Bleacher Report, Clash of Clans, Snapchat, ESPN, etc. I've checked my notification settings and none of them are blocked. I literally have not gotten a notification from any of these apps in several weeks.
Can't seem to turn off notifications for certain apps in app info. I uncheck that option, but the apps keep notifying me! Both apps are Supercell ) could that be their problem? I have to uncheck it every time, but all of the sudden, I get notified of something. I never had that problem, stated a couple of weeks ago.
I just ported to android. But I'm finding it difficult to add custom notifications sounds to different apps e.g. tweet-tweet for twitter, ring for email, cheer for sports app, shutter sound for Instagram etc. Also not every app shows the banner, some silently comes in system tray, some make noise. I want to control how each app notifies. How do I do that ? I'm NOT asking how to change "DEFAULT notification sound".
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
I have certain apps "i.e. quick change keyboards", I like to have the notifications for it shown on my notification screen, but I do not want to see it on my lock screen. Other apps I DO want to see on the lock screen.
im am trying to hide SMS notification on the Display of my Nokia Lumia 800, because if i leave my Phone somewhere one the Table, everybody can read my sms and the sender. That is making me really nervous and i have always to hide my phone in my pocket. I searched over internet and in discussion board, also on troubleshooting page, but still couldn't find any help. Im using more than 12 years only Nokia and until now, i haven't experience any trouble like this. But since windows phone, i think everything is more complicated with Nokia Phones.
I just picked this up last week on a whim, the day Verizon released it, so I am new to the phone.
My question is... Can I customize the notifications that show up in the ambient display?
In other words... I want all notifications at the top of the home screen, just like always... but I only want text messages to show up on the ambient display. Not every piece of junk mail I receive, or ebay notices, etc.
I am about to just turn it off, but am hoping I can get it to only show SMS (texts).
I love the Toast notifications on my Icon, which has Windows 8.1 through Verizon. The only problem is that they only display for a few seconds and they usually vanish before I can get to the phone to see what the notification was, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to pull up a list of old notifications. So I'm wondering if there's any way to make these notifications display longer. Right now, they seem to be about five seconds and they're gone. I'd like to extend that to at least ten seconds. And is there any way to pull up a list of old notifications so I can see what I might have missed when I was away from my phone?
I got my Lumia 950xl last night. Had some problems setting up but all is well now. But, for the life of me I can't find where to enable notifications on the pulldown screen. I only get two notifications (Outlook mail and phone and only these two are shown as enabled in the notifications and action screen) . I had no problem with my 830. When I pulled down the screen from the top, all the notifications from all my other emails etc would appear but I cannot find a way to enable this in the Lumia 950xl. Maybe I just have a case of the "dumbazzzz" today but this is bugging me.
I am trying to change my notification sounds for Etsy, Paypal, etc. so that I know when I have made a sale vs. gotten a text. Very few App developers create customized sounds for the apps.
even though I set it on settings for my notifications to go off when I get a new mention or a message on twitte rmy notifications never go off and it did on my iPod 4G so I'm wondering why it isn't working for my iPhone 4
I just finished a full wipe and chose to set up everything from scratch and not from Google backup. I know how to set up sounds for within each messaging app. But I can't find where to change it for Gmail app emails.
There are several weather related 3rd party apps being sold in the Apple App Store that offer to provide push notifications in the event of severe weather at the iPhone users location. However,I believe these apps are NOT pushing the warning out to users immediately when the National Weather Service issues the warning.I suspect it is due to how the app developers are handling (and footing the cost) of pushing the data. Many times the warning notification comes AFTER a storm has passed. This is extremely dangerous and it would be appreciated if Apple could investigate this problem, which could serve to help public safety.
my iphone don´t show the notifications for all the apps that use notifications push, so i have to enter in each app to see if i have or not message like in whatsapp, hookt, viber ... my ihone is 3g and have ios 4.2.1.
I like that my apps currently get updated automatically, but I don't really want to see it. If I turn off all alerts/notifications for it, in Settings > Notification Center, will the automatic updates still happen?
I just purchased copilot for my iPhone 4. The display is squeezed into the top 15% of the screen and mirrored side by side! But the touch is still full screen Its basically unusable.
Their facebook page has a small discussion thread saying they are working on fixing it. ugh
In the last week my bold 9700 keeps on displaying memory manager and shows applications I can delete, but won't actually let me delete anything as it's basicall frozen with clock icon ticking away.Strange thing is if I reboot device, and look at available memory it shows 30mb available, but as I watch it ticks its way down to nothing. What could be eating at memory when I'm not doing anything.Device has become basically useless. After this started, I did install new release of OS that was available when connected to my PC hoping that would solve issue.APP world does not display all my installed apps when I go there??
My iPhone display is showing all my apps and text about 4x bigger than normal. It's a ***** to try to move around the pane and especially to do my pin if I turn it on. Tapping three fingers on the screen doesn't change the zoom.  I managed to get into Settings to check if the display was zoomed and it was set on standard. Resetting the phone doesn't work either. This has happened on my older 5s when my hand has been on an open display when the phone was in my pocket.  I think this last time my hand was on the screen for more than 10 seconds.
On Sprint Stock OC9, and rooted.I am wondering if there is a way to disable some of the system notifications like "Charging... xx minutes Until Full" or the "Location Set By GPS". These are rather unnecessary. The GPS icon can stay but I don't need a notification along with it.
I am using an S6 for the last couple of weeks and noted that notifications are not being received. They are received when I open an app or connect to Wi-Fi. This is happening for Whatsapp, hangouts, messenger, google play. (there might be other apps too).
There are 2 days a week that i need my ringer on at work for daycare purposes. So i have ringtone on, and the other 3 settings (media, notifications, system) all turned off. However, i still get facebook message notifications, and vibrations from Twitter alerts.
