On my old phone, a Samsung, there were always time stamps at the bottom of each message with the time and date it was sent.I just got a new Nokia 6790 Surge and I noticed that there is no time stamp on the message. You can see the date if you select the details, but no time. Is there a way to set time stamps on text messages?
After recording audio clips or taking pictures, the date time stamp on the files are UTC time, not local time. This is different than the prior firmware and is a defect. I reported this to Nokia.
I have a new X6. I can delete individual text messages but is there a way of deleting all of the inbox or sent items in one go? I could do this on my old Nokia, which was about 6 years old. I am sure that I must be able to do it on the X6 but just cannot work out how.
In my message threads, for any messages I have sent it gives the time of the text message in the bottom right of the message. However for any that I have received it only gives the date.
Not the end of the world I know but can be handy to have the time.Is this something that is possible or do I just have to live with it?
I have one question about my mobile. Everything is working well on my Nokia C2-01 otherwise, but the time showed on text messages varies. Phone is showing right time on messages I send, but the ones I receive have time one hour earlier. What can I do to get the time correctly?
Is there anyway to keep the text messages on the screen all the time? When i get a text and respond they dont stay on the screen. My old lg phones always stayed on the screen. And if you are texting 2 or more people at the same time and they send you a text in the middle of what you are typing it automatically sends what you are texting to the drafts folder. Is it suppose to do this?
I shut my phone off at night and in the morning I find I have text messages. How do I find out what time text messages were sent after phone has been off?
When I turn my phone on in the morning I often get messages from the night before from drunken mates However, the phone tells me the receive time (i.e. now), not the time the message was sent (which my old SE W302 would do). I've loaded Handcent to see if that helped but it does the same thing.
I have several text messages from several different people. The problem is the display only shows 1 text message string from that 1 person at a time. All the other text message strings are hidden from me .. until I delete THAT string.Oddly, sometimes I can see 2 text message strings from 2 different people .. but I cannot see all the others until these are removed.I can't even scroll down to see the other text message strings.
I was texting with someone earlier today, I sent a text at 4:31 pm and they immediately responded but their text message was time stamped at 11:32 am.For some reason all of the texts I receive are time stamped as 5 hours earlier. The people I'm texting with are located in my same timezone, and the timezone is correct in the settings of my phone. It's set to automatic but I switched to manual and checked to see that the correct timezone was selected.
The day I purchased this phone it registered 6 Text Messages. I checked them and there were no text messages to be viewed. Then for some unknown reason the number would dissapear. Then again reapear, and disapear, and reapear, I think you get the picture. Needless to say this is becoming frustrating. It has been two months and I just can't seem to get this number to be accurate.
I'm currently away at college in an extended network but the whole 2 years I have been here I have never had a problem with service until this week.
My phone gets text messages and can receive calls at certain time but after a while if you try to make a call or send a text it won't go thru even though I have full bars or close to it.
Its weird I have service for like half an hour then suddently it stops. I have asked people with blackberrys who have verizon in the area and they aren't having any problems.
I have tried taking out the battery/Reset. It worked a few times but these last few days it has not solved the problem.
I already spoke to Verizon and they tried to do some troubleshooting with me. My phone was working after I talking with Verizon but the problem keeps reoccurring.
Im in an area where I can't call 228 so even when my phone is working I cant update the software.
So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory. Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
My current text messages are being combined with old text messages, creating messages that don't reflect what I sent. The recipients of my texts are very confused....as am I when I get there response.
whenever i get a msg and i open it .it shows the different received time.it is far behind the original time been set in the mobile. is there any settings that i could change it.the mobile model is nokia 2700 classic and i bought it just two days before. it is happening for all the msg by different people.is there any solution for this? is there any settings i could change to get the right timing?. i highly depend on the received timing since i could not get when exactly the people sent msg to me.help me with this?
I'm a new user to nokia E72, though i have been using nokia phones for about 5 years now. when i receive a text message while my e72 was switched off, it doesn't show the exact time the sender sent the message. instead it shows the time the text message receieved to my phone when i switch on my device. as an example i swtiched off my phone at 10pm night and my friend sent me a message at 11 pm.. and then i switch on the phone again at 12 midnight and i recieve his message at 12.01am and in it time stamp it shows the message receieved at 12.01am instead the correct time when my friend sent me the message at 11pm i have checked this with other nokia phones example 6630 and so on. in them it shows the exact time the sender sent the message what's wrong in my nokia E72? how can i correct it?
Having problem with the text messages for some reason every time I receive a text message the time stamp is 5 HRS behind. For example if I'm sending a text at 10:00am and the respond comes back with in few seconds respond time will show 5:00 am.I have the proper setting for the region can not figure it out please help,
I receive messages from people hours after they tell me they sent them but when I receive them it has the current time listed, as if it was just sent. It would be fantastic to know the msg was sent at 10am and now being 2:30pm, I can have a better reply. It's definitely with the phone, because I know a few of the people have the same service provider but different phones. When messages are received on my wifes phone, it shows when they were sent, not the current time. I've looked at my settings but do not see a way to change this, is there a way?
I can send text messages but can't receive any text messages (sms). Ideed, i have a message like that : "message memory full" i delete a lot of messages, i don't have any video or pictures, my memory is not full, so i don't understand why it's like that. I have this probleme for 4 days ant it becomes very annoying. delete any message cause i delete three-quarters of messages..
I have a recurring problem with my N95 8gb, I can't send any texts. It started by sending the same text repeatedly until I deleted from the outbox. After a while I couldn't send texts at all, I get a error message stating that my memory is full which is not the case. I temporarily fixed this by deleting a message in my sent box and switching off the handset and when I turned on the phone again it would send the message. Although this was very annoying it worked normally for a while but now this method doesn't work anymore. What can I do to solve this? I've tried to update the firmware, tried both soft and hard reset. I have 85.3M empty RAM, 40,6M empty phone memory and 5,9gb empty on the mass memory.
I bought a Nokia X6 today and can't for the life of me get it to send text messages. Is there anybody who can give me a step by step idiot guide on how to fix this if there is one.
My E72-1 just developed this annoying and hard-to-fix problem: It can't send SMS messages anymore. I hadn't noticed it at first, was wondering why the persons I sent messages didn't replied when I responded to their messages. Then happened to check my phones Outbox, and 6 text messages are stuck in there for several hours already. Just to test the phone further (to check if it might be a SIM card problem), I put this SIM card on another phone, and I was able to send messages on that phone. I also placed another SIM card on the E72 and tested sending a message -- the message sending gets stuck at the Outbox and never sends. Receiving SMS messages appears to work fine. Also, calling out (voice calls) and receiving calls work. other notes: in settings: "Phone Memory" (instead of memory card) is used for text messages, configured to have up to 999 messages. Currently, have around 600 SMS messages in the Inbox and maybe 150 text messages in the Sent folder. Let's says that's only around 800 messages (not yet 999 messages). What I tried: I changed the setting from "phone memory" to "memory card", but still unable to send messages. (I reverted it back to phone memory since that's where my messages are residing.) I did a soft reset *#7780# which reset the E72's settings. Tried again to send SMS message -- it still fails. I decided to do a hard reset, so I did a full backup using Ovi Suite first. Then I did the hard reset *#7370# -- and it did solve the problem (able to send messages again), unfortunately, I would need to reinstall all the applications, contacts and restore the messages I saved. I tried restoring the backup (it was pretty big at 2.3Gb), but it's taking a very very long time (nearly an hour) and it seems to fail near the end of the restoration. The backing up of the phone took awhile (maybe 20 minutes or so) since it backedup probably the whole memory card too. (I should probably have deleted a few unneeded big files from the memory card before I did the backup since it appears that Ovi Suite is also backing up those big files).Right now, I'm doing the restoration a second time (a few hours since I first tried that and it sort of failed). During the restoration which ended with failure, it seems that when I tried sending SMS messages, it fails again. (ie. if I restore the backup, the problem is also restored) -- I'll check this again later if this is indeed the case. I still had around 130Mb free space left in the C: phone memory and the 4Gb microSDHD memory card had around 900Mb free space when I started the backing up in the first place. (mentioning these in case these might be related to the problem.)any idea what's causing the unable to send SMS message problem? another thing: does restoring backups really take an extremely long time? (I haven't tried the restoration function before, though I did a backup maybe 2 months ago) Does the phone get in a sort of "stuck" or "hanging" mode during the latter part of the restoration procedure?
