I have nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It is updated to V 60.0003. It started showing and error Kern-Exec-3. It is now also showing a wierd no. on the top right corner on the menu screen. I read about it and found that the solution was a reset but I want to know what data will be deleted from the phone? I have huge contacts list and it is the most important thing of the phone.

After downloading the sis file (ca 6.5 MB, Ovi Store), and starting the installation, finally I got the message that cannot Install. I think that QT libraries are correct (4.7.4)cause I installed fmobi from ovi store without any troubles. The only one file I could'nt install is Nokia Store.

Nokia Suite (initially) wouldn't reflash, saying a SIM card was needed (which was in) but beta labs kindly took note of the error report and released a new Nokia Suite that did allow a reflash. How can I hard reset it without knowing the lock password. Everything I try, I am prompted for the lock password except one attempt. I held in the up arrow, shift key and back arrow while powering on. This did some type of reset. But, the lock password still is not 12345.

After that my service provider (Dialog GSM Sri Lanka) send me the MMS,and GPRS settings. But I cannot connect. It says connection not available WEB: anable to perform operation and when I tried to connect the wifi it asked the wap key and wont connect but the wifi icon is displayed on the top and I need to restart the phone to get red of it. This was working fine before.

I did this and I come back to none of my text messages. They have all been deleted. I can't find anything on the forums about this.
I am not sure I particularly care, meaning I don't think I had too much in the way of important information contained in them, but it wasn't supposed to do that so that's a bit annoying to me. Why did my phone do something it wasn't supposed to do?

Originally I stored music, videos, Whatsapp media, Titanium backups and so on on my external memory card. But this option is now gone. Is there any way to create a new partition as external sd card wich is recognized by apps and is not affected by hard resets (which is mostly necessary for custom rom updates) ? I don't want to get in a copy nightmare for every ROM update which requires a full wipe. Is tehre any solution? I can't be the only one who is thinking about this issue.
