Nokia Nseries :: Opera Mini Latest Not Working On N8 Belle?
Jun 21, 2012The latest Opera Mini from OVI Store (version 7.0(29980)) is not working on my N8 with Belle anymore.Install is OK but when I start the browser there is a message about font calculation and when it comes to about 82% it always crashes the phone (restart) I then downloaded the sis from the Opera site, installed it and everything works nice again. This is version 7.0(29974)

Jan 2, 2012I've been running Opera 11.00 (build 1447) on my N8-00 (now upgraded to Anna) very successfully for months. Decided to upgrade to 11.5.1952 (downloaded from Ovi store) yesterday. Install seems to go OK but then it will not launch. It seems to try momentarily but then nothing. Have been able to reinstall 11.00 from the sis file and that still runs fine.

Feb 10, 2012I have upgraded my Nokia N8-00 to Nokia Belle and whenever I try to open opera mobile or opera mini and after using for a little the phone freezes forcing me to hold the power key for 8 seconds and the device vibrates 3 times. I downloaded opera browsers from ovi store but I think that opera has not released opera for Nokia N8-00 running on Nokia Belle. Also I cannot run more than two applications when running opera as the device freezes

Mar 4, 2010Im new to N900, would like to know if its possible to install Opera mini on N900. Iv tried going to the download link which then asks where to download the file to, by defaut the "documents" folder for download destination came up so i went with that and then it downloaded the file to that destination. I then went to install the Opera mini file and cant get it to install, when i click on the file it asks which application i would like to open it with, thats as far as i get coz theres no suitable application to open it with. The Opera mini file thats downloaded has a " ? " on it. Please could any1 tell me how to do this or where im going wrong, or in fact if Opera mini is even suitable for N900.

Mar 23, 2010The application icon for opera mini 4.2 has a small yellow key next to it. I am unable to delete the app. I can't install opera mini 5 over the top. I have tried removing it with windows explorer, nokia application manager but neither worked. I tried taking the memory card out and doing all of the above but nothing worked. Oct 8, 2010I changed the Default applications | Browsing internet setting from Web to Opera Mini. This does not seem to affect anything. Unless I actually start Opera Mobile, any application that has a URL link will start the default N97 browser instead of Opera Mobile.
Is there something else I need to do in order to change the default browser on the N97?

The Nokia Maps app does pretty good nav but whereas e.g. TT will accept a postcode like CT16 2AB, Nokia Maps (or Drive as it is called; the Drive app shares the same database with the Maps app) accepts only CT162.
Today I tried to drive from Brighton (UK) to Biggin Hill Airport but Drive could not find Biggin Hill, which is weird. So I used an old Pocket/PC PDA with TT6 to get there. The Nokia apps did not show any roads/streets for a large area around the destination and on the way back it was about half an hour before I reached a map showing roads/streets. I deleted and reloaded the UK map (400MB) from Nokia and that fixed that bizzare issue, but having two ways to do the job is obviously desirable. And TT is a better app with a better database.
