The recording quality seems low on my N8, even though it is set to HD. There are vague lines distorting the video. I have compared newly recorded videos with older ones and there is a clear difference. However I haven't recorded a video for a few weeks so I'm not entirely sure if it's a faulty camera or if the newly updated Belle software is causing this.

i know there is a option in the video recorder to switch recording resolutions from (480x360) and (176x144). Now, why is it that sometimes vids record in HQ (according to the playback quality, and what facebook calls it) and then sometimes it just shows standard quality. it's weird. Does anyone know what I talking about, and how do I make sure it always records at the best quality possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I bought my E63 I noticed that while on my previous phone the sound got all distorted when I tried to record a loud live performance, it sounded pretty good on the E63, even if the concert got loud. Since that discovery I usually record one of two songs of a show I visit as a souvenir. It's become quite a big thing for me.Now the E63 has a pretty mediocre camera, so I'm thinking about upgrading to a model with a better one. Of course it is essential that this new phone can record loud sound (110 dB and over) as good or even better than my current E63. I know that this is not a given from people with iPhones or phones from HTC: all they get is when they try to record loud sound is distortion.are newer Nokia models still as good at recording loud (rock and metal show) sound and is there some technical spec that I can check to make sure this is the case?

i played a same high quality on an iphone and android and it clearly shows as if the video streaming on the nokia is displaying as if the phone thinks there is no wifi.
i am playing the video connected to wifi.
All photos and videos are very poor quality, somehow blurred, like always to be out of focus.I tried in different light situations, different modes, but no improvement. Maybe I expect too much, but the N900's photo engine is complimented a lot.Here is a photo of better quality shooten with my n900:

i have heard that there is a stereo microphone accessory for sony xperia phones, since its a stereo input micropohne, i need to know whether i could feed any stereo input (line in recording) to my phone and record better quality audio.

After I finish record (with the lag) my processed video will jitter and pixelate where the lag spikes occured during recording. View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having two problems with Nokia Camera on my Icon. When recording a video in Nokia Camera. I have found that it isn't recording sound.When recording a video in Nokia Camera, it takes about 5 seconds after hitting the record button for it to actually start recording.
I am not sure how to replicate the issue because it has only happened a few times and it will fix itself by restarting the phone.
When it does happen it will happen every time I record a video through Nokia Camera until a reboot. I at least now figured out that if I hit record and there is a delay between it actually starting to record, then the sound will not be recorded so a restart is necessary.
I can still record through the WP camera app and audio will be recorded, but this is a huge problem for me. I have about 5 videos that I have taken in the past week that were actually pretty important that have no sound now.
I uninstalled Nokia Camera and reinstalled and it still did it. Is this a Nokia Camera bug or an Icon bug?
I played around with the HDMI output, after installing the new version of Nokia Big Screen. The video quality was miserable (I have a 720p demo video from Philips for testing purpose). I thought it was from Big Screen application, so I uninstalled it, but there was no change.
In short the screen is way too overscan (part of menu goes out of screen), the TV output format switch in Accessories has no effect (was this active only for analog output ? can't remember and I don't have an analog cable at hand to check), but the worst thing is the video quality is horrible for a HD image, resolution seems to be low, outlines are exaggerated and the contrast is too high, like the tonal range is missing.
I tried on two different brands LCD TV displays and on one of them on both native HDMI and DVI-compatible input HDMI. At the same time connecting my PC to the DVI-compatible input and playing the same video shows a perfect image.
I barely recall that the image was very good before, but I have my N8 only ~1,5 months old so perhaps I have not accumulated much experience on this. Still, even without background, I qualify the actual image quality as "miserable". What HD? Looks worse than SD.
The image quality has dropped significantly on my n8 after the belle update. The auto focus is not as precise as it was with anna. I am surprised no one has reported this matter. On a discussion on beta labs D.Dinning said that there's no need to install the previously released camera update for n8 after updating to belle.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S6 edge on T-Mobile and juts noticed this morning that whenever I attempt to record a video I get a warning stating "The video codec is currently being used by other applications..."
Is it possible to determine which application has it in use? I've closed all running applications which didn't resolve the problem. Restarted the phone without starting any other applications before the camera and that failed. I'm not seeing any information about this issue in the couple of searches I've done so far but wonder if it's an isolated issue or something common.
Short of a Factory Reset, which I'm not fully opposed to doing, is there a potential solution?
If I receive a call during recording a video, the video gets lost. Can I change settings or is there any solution to save the video before accepting the call? Or is it simply a flaw in the software that the video is not saved automatically?

i believe i found a bug with 3.1. videocamera pauses while video recording when a live paper is being used when wallpaper is just a picture than it works properly.
