I use the micro usb home charger without any problems but when I try to use my car charger, it does not work. There is no indication that I've plugged anything in, no response from my phone.I have tested the charger with other devices and it works fine. Is this normal for the N8?
View 8 RepliesI have a CK-100 car kit and trying to find a replacement/upgrade charge cable (CA-134) with a USB micro B connector instead of the 2mm that is fitted. The user/installation guide mentions that an alternative USB cable may be supplied but all searches have failed to find one. The alternative is to make up a cable RJ45 at the CK end, I can buzz it out but does anyone have the pin out for the RJ45? I've tried the CA-146 adapter and to be honest it's naff - it runs hot and the output is reduced to the point that whilst running my satnav app the phone will discharge faster than it can be charged, I've also tried the adapter on a standard car charger with the same results.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using nokia 5800 for last 2 years almost, and suddenly i got a message as "disk write error". after that i restarted micro sd card, and it works fine for a minute or so, again it shows same errro. so i formatted micro sd using PC(windows 7), and now phone displays microsd status as "Corrupted". I even tried with brand new Micro SD, even for that same corrupted message showing.. and memory card options -> format option is coming blank. and i cant live without memory card in my phone!!

View 1 Replies View Relatedi do not have an electrical engineering background and in fact know very little about amps, watts, etc. however to understand my power and charging needs for the playbook, i googled. anyone who knows this better feel to correct me.-the included outlet to micro-usb charger provides 1.8amps at 5volts.-the typical pc to micro-usb cable provides around 0.5amps at 5volts.-the typical power usage of a playbook while active and running is 2-3 watts (which is about 0.5amps to 0.75amps at around 4 volts (depending on battery state).So if the above is true, the pc to micro-usb charger will pretty much cover the usage amps or maybe even less but wont actually increase the amount of stored energy (breaks even).The included charger will provide about 1amp of juice to store after subtracting the 0.5 to 0.75amps of usage.but what is the maximum charger amps or voltage which can charge the playbook the fastest via outlet to micro-usb?is 5v the maximum and amps are the limiting factor? or can any amount of voltage and amps be used? i need it to be microusb not the magnetic post cable because my stand uses microusb. the reason i mention usage while active instead of standby mode is because i plan to run a night table clockapp which will draw 2watts but still want to charge the device quickly.

It must come from the AC-15E charger shipped with the phone, since I tried the AC-8E charger from my previous phone (a C5-00 5MP) and the charging then worked. Yet before sending the phone back to the seller, I would like to be sure that the shipped charger is just faulty and that it does not come from anything else.

When I plug in the wall charger, the phone fails to recognize that I plugged it in. No charging message, no beep, nothing. I also tried plugging the USB cord into an outlet via an USB adapter, and nothing happens.
I tried plugging the phone into my computer via to charge and it seems to be working at the moment..
But this is unacceptable. I will not be around a computer all the time. Why isn't my N8 detecting when I plug it in using the provided wall charger? Is this a hardware issue? Do I need to return/repair it? The phone charger that comes with the phone DOESN'T WORK! It never worked from the start, and I had to use the USB charger from my computer to N97 Mini. Okay, so that may be a solution. However, I am travelling abroad for a conference soon. How am I suppose to bring my computer along with USB charger and everything if I was to travel light. For those people who is going ot suggest, try and plug the USB charger to other computer. Here is the problem. I've tried my entire office computers after office hour. ONLY 1 computer manage to charge for 1 hr before it 'automatically' disconnects. The rest only recognize the PC suit and Mass memory... but NOT the charging.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought the 808 PureView in a German electro-hardware store (Saturn). There the phone was in offline mode as it didn't have any micro-SIM. No biggie. However, I got home and inserted my micro-SIM and tried to use the phone but it doesn't recognize the micro-SIM!
I've tried the SIM in other phones (Nokia and other brands) and it works but not in the 808. It is like the phone is stucked in "Offline" mode and I can't make it change: not from the Profiles page (to make it Active), not by pressing the On/Off button and selection "Turn offline mode off", not re-starting it with and then without the SIM and then with the SIM inserted, not "Restore factory settings" not "Delete memoru and restore factory settings"!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently made the decision to stop using my headphone jack. To listen to audio, I plug my listening devices into th 3.5mm jacks that are located on the different docks. The problem I have is that a lot of the phone sounds still come through the external speaker. For example, I am watching a movie and I get an email, text msg, or phone call. I can't hear this because my headphones are on. If I plug my headphones into the phone's actual headphone jack, I hear all of the sounds. If I am in the car and a call comes in, the voice comes through the speakerphone. I have to manually hit the speaker button and then the audio comes through my car stereo. Does any know if there is a way to make the audio from the micro usb to work the same as the audio on the headphone jack?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter recent upgrade to v 60.0.003, my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic does not seem to be working properly with my car bluetooth kit. It connects to the car kit alright, and the incoming call's ringtone is heard on the car kit and the call can also be accepted by pressing the green button on the car kit but the call voice (both mike and speaker) remains with the phone and does not come over the car stereo. If I look at the phone screen during the call, there is an option to activate the speaker but none to transfer the call to bluetooth device. I have tried fiddling with options in Accessories - > Car kit, as well as the bluetooth options, to no avail. Tried re-pairing but that didn;t help either.

After restaring the phone it works fine. An even more annoying problem is that when this has happened my phone doesn't receive calls either. I've heard that people have tried to call me and it has rang normally but my phone doesn't show that someone has called me.
