Mar 18, 2010I just got a new phone today the Nokia X6 and i was wondering how i can find out what my MAC address is for the mobile,I need the actual address for the Router as we have high security settings and i need to input this address to allow the phone too connect to the Router, can anybody help me out on how to find the MAC address?

Sep 22, 2011I have a Nokia N8, and since a few months back it cannot find any 3G-signal. (it worked okay in may-june)when I try the SIM-card in my other phone (Nokia E52) it finds the 3G-signal directly without any problem.The settings is of course set to 3G, but I only get a 3g-symbol which is cross-out and no signal bar at the side. I have also tried dual mode but then it only finds the GSM-signal.

Mar 6, 2012When updating my status via the Nokia FB app it can't find my location. It brings up a list of 10 places that are not near at all to where I live or where I want to check in from ... Is this a bug? All other applications can find my location including Nokia maps, fascinate, foursquare etc but I like to use the Nokia one.

Nov 7, 2011Every so often on my N8, I get a call from "someone". All I see is the phone number, with no indication of who it's from. Then I find out it's from someone who should have already been listed in my contacts.
Is there any way to search through contacts by phone number? At least that way I'd know who the call was from, before calling back.
Also, is there anything to do (or not to do) that will minimize this problem? I have multiple phone numbers and email addresses for several people, but I didn't think that would create an issue.

Jul 8, 2010A month ago my 8310 Curve, v. 4.5.0.55 (Platform 2.7.0.68) service provider O2, stopped being able to search and find Contacts unless I had added them after that date. These newer Contacts have not been folded into the original Address Book, but are all in a new and alphabetised list at the end of the original Contacts list. There are no Categories assigned, no Network sync, and Content is not protected. The Contacts are in the phone, not on the SIM.
Before this, I could type in to the Address Book or the phone the first 2-3 letters of someone's name and it would take me to that contact - now it says there's no such person. So I have to scroll through the entire address book to get to who I want, and then I can call/SMS etc.
Nokia :: Email Address From Address Book On E72 And Removing Old Emails
Mar 1, 2010I like my E72 but I have two problems that really annoy me.
1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.

My xDSL provider provides me with a wireless router which I have been using for ten years with no problem. I get 5 public IP addresses and when they are all assigned to MAC addresses I simply restart the xDSL modem to connect a new device. The following happens when I connect to my xDSL WiFi connection.
1. I have to enter the WEP security code (why doesn't Satio remember this so I don't have to enter it each time?)
2. It gives the message 'Connecting to my Wifi node'
3. It gives the message 'Checking internet connectivity' (I am assuming it is checking to see if the IP address is assigned)
4. It tries to go to my homepage www.google.com (shows a blank screen)
5. Then it times out and gives me an error message "Internet: No gateway reply" HOW DO I SEE WHAT IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY MY WIFI NODE?

Oct 24, 2011for something reason, my phone started to be DAMN slow and laggy, when i try to go menu, it takes about 10 seconds to get to menu, and all is laggy in this phone. When going to file manager, seems it doesnt find memory card, even it is inserted.Then when removing memory card, phone works normally and not slow, fast. What is wrong with my 5230, why it doesnt find my memory card and why inserting it makes so slow? I would like to get it work because it has all my music and pictures etc...

Jan 20, 2012I was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....

Feb 18, 2010I have multiple email addresses on my phone (Work, School (2), and Gmail). I have set my work email as the default under default services under advanced options. If I am in messages and I use the menu to compose a new email, the correct default email (work) is used.
However, if I am browsing my files, like a picture, and I use the menu to select send as email, it will attach it to a new email but it will be my Gmail address, not my default work address as the from address.
I have double checked and my work email is set as the default. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is not a battery pull problem either... It has been this was since I got the phone, and on my replacement as well. I reboot the phone often so its not the standard do a battery pull answer.
