Nokia :: N97 - Keeps Asking For Messaging Password
Aug 20, 2010
I'm trying to set up the Messaging Software on my N97, i've put all my details in the required fields, when it gets to the part "Welcome Back!" "Nokia Messaging Password" i put my password in and after it says Validating, it asks for the password again, then again and again and again. The password is correct as i can log in using the Nokia Email site. I even tried changing the password, but it still does it.
i'm trying to get the Nokia Messaging Email app working on my n97, but can't remember the password they ask on Email.nokia.com, if you have to sign in. Is there a way to recover it? I've tried to make a new account, but my number is already in use. And that of course with my old profile. They don't have a "i forgot my password" button as well.
Up until yesterday the Nokia Messaging app worked superbly with my E72.But then it wasn't able to connect to the messaging servers and instead kept asking me for my password to the Nokia Messaging service. As I sadly forgot it I tried to retrieve it and therefore got a temporary password from the Nokia Messaging team. My problem is now that even with it I couldn't log in to my account and set up a new password.
I performed a hard reset on my Nokia E72 last night. The problem I am encountering now is when I try to add my email addresses back to the Nokia messaging Program it keeps asking me for the password.Even when I enter the correct password it just keeps asking for it over and over again.
I subscribed to Nokia messaging using my Gmail ID, but due to some reasons, decided to reload the phone software, and hence unsubscribed.
Now when I subscribe again using the same mail Id, and changed password, the system registers me, but when I try to log in to manage my account, it does not accept my new password, and asks me to log in using the password which I used when I first registered. Even after supplying that password, it does not allow me to log in and show up the following message:"We are unable to process your request at this time. Try again later."
I forget my nokia messeging username and password, when i tried to setup email accounts in mobile it ask mefor username and pwd of nokia messeging. how to reset or get those information.I am using nokia e63I really get stuck with nokia service as there is no option to retrieve forget password and username.
I have a Nokia E71 just update to the firmware 410.21.010. I did not recovered backup after the upgrade and I formatted the memory card, so it's completely clean.
Now, Nokia Email has appear as new included application so I would like to use it, but when I configure my email account (form a supported services: ovi, gmail, etc...), the wizard only configures my mobile for the typical IMAP client. It's strange, because I have a different E71 also update to this same firmare and Nokia Messaging works fine and creates the Nokia Messaging account. How could use Nokia Messaging with my E71?. Is there some way to create a Nokia Messaging account form the web instead from the phone?.
I want to block my N900... but wen i go to the blocking options and touch "change password" the phone ask for the old pass.. i dont change that pass in any moment and i dont know how can i change the numbers cuz i dont have the previous pass... the phone box was open in my face and no one change that...
I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
Anybody using http://email.nokia.com to setup email accounts? I used to be able to setup email account there. But I can't do it now. I tried to setup an email account and it just takes me back to the account page. I have no email address setup right now.
I noticed that at the end of the account page, in the secton of "My subscription", it says
PlanNokia Messaging subscription - purchased with deviceSubscription statusCanceled
Why is it canceled? Can anyone else check their account and see if this is the same status?
I'm still trying to get my NM to connect by wi-fi but I can't do it. I tried deleting my gmail mailbox and and setting it up as an "Other" account (as I read this on some other forum) but that did not work either.
I am only able to connect by MMS.
I would really like to be able to connect by wi-fi so that when roaming overseas etc I can use NM without crazy data charges.
I recently upgraded from an E71 to an E72. Before giving my E71 away, I had taken a backup using the Nokia PC Suite (to a .nbu file). The 2 things I care about the most for restoring in my E72 are the contacts and the messages. After restoring them from backup, I could see all my contacts, but when I open the Messaging, the Messaging UI just hangs, until I hold down home and make it exit from the list of running apps (there too .. its doesn't exit immediately about after some time...and while its running the phones not very smooth to use)
If however, it is already running in foreground when I restore the messages from backup, it runs fine, until i exit it and start it again... this has been totally a mood spoiler.. i'ven't been able to enjoy my new e72 at all yet
I think the way I want to use Messaging on my E72 is pretty straight forward: I have one Ovi mail account that I want my phone to check once every hour. When I'm at home I want the phone to use my wifi hotspot, and when away from home to use the cell network. This seems like a reasonably low demand request.
The problem is that every time it want to connect to the server it pops up the destinations request window in which I am required to "Select connection" with the options "Search for WLAN" and "Internet". The "Internet" choice (which is set up according to my prioritised list of access points) is set as the default, but it still brings up the pop-up window in which I have to
choose between "Search for WLAN" and "Internet".
The net result of this is that every hour when the phone is supposed to check for mail it gets as far as the destinations pop-up window where I have to choose between "Search for WLAN" and "Internet". If I do not happen to see that it is requesting this and physically choose the "Internet" connection, it never connects and I never receive notification of new mail.
I have installed the latest IM application on my E63. When I try to log in onto Y! Community the application returns the following message: " Nokia Messaging subscription is required to activate the services you have selected. By pressing Reject, you will have access to Ovi Chat, Nokia's Community. For more information, visit messaging. nokia. com".Although I have visited the above mentioned site there is no information to help me successfully sign in into IM application. How do I solve this?
Just got a nokia e72, its the first phone of this type that I have tried so I don't know if the following are supposed to happen or not.
1: Nokia messaging won't work it says I have to check the inbox manually (this isn't a massive problem a press of the message key and I am in the inbox folder - so 2 presses rather than one is no big deal). The problem is that the inbox in question keeps disconnecting (yes I do have signal) so doesn't tell me when I have new email.
2: Following on from 1 when I send an email it always asks me what type of connection I want to use yet I have set it to default 'WAP contract' so it shouldn't ask should it.
3: Web sites open very slowly, now I am not expecting laptop speeds here but my nokia 6300 opened pages quicker.
4: Is it normal that when you remove the sim card and then put it back in you have to do the whole phone set up thing, its getting very annoying as I use the sim in a couple of phones and you don't have to do this in any of the others.
5: It keeps stopping me from downloading things and when it does this asks me to contact the service administrator - **bleep**?!?!?. I am only downloading nokia apps.
The main reason I ask these questions is that I had a nokia e72 about a month ago and none of the above seemed to happen on it but I only had it for 2 days as the casing was cracked and I sent it back. This new one I only got last week.
The Messaging app on my N97 will not disconnect from the network. I've set it to Go Offline, the connection is still active. I've set it to go offline and then Exited the app, the connection is still active. The only way I can make it disconnect from the 3G/WiFi network is if I set it to start manually and then my phone off and on again. But if I start the app once, the problem is back. If I set it to sync automatically during a part of the day, even if it's supposed to be offline and not syncing it's still online and using my connection. I like this app but it bugs me to see it keep my WiFi/3G connection on at all time, even if it's set on "offline" and if i exit it.
I've one Nokia E71 with 400.21.013 firmware an Nokia messaging 9.7.0.2. My problem is that I've auto sync all day and the sign that appears when I open the messaging (auto start by default) is not available. So I don't get any email push. (even though I pay for that service). If I press the sync button I get the emails, only the automatic isn't working. On the application I'm using my ISP or birdstep.
I have a big problem with my NM and E71. Last November when I bought my E71, I successfully installed NM on my phone and everything was OK! Last week, I sent my phone to the after sale service for repair, and they sent it back to me today. I tried to re-install NM, so I downloaded the softaware from http:email.nokia.com, installed it, and then nothing! I don't have access to NM. I don't have any email download.
I have been trying to set up Nokia Messaging for a few days now. I've read all the info I can find on the net regarding it - others have fixed it, but I still cannot.
Any email address I enter into the email setup wizard gives the familiar message "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again."
I have already installed the latest version of Nokia Messaging. I have tried my Ovi address, Gmail address, Hotmail address, Yahoo! address and an 'other' address with the same result.
Logging on to email.nokia.com with a PC allows me to enter my mobile number (with and without the '0' at the beginning of my Australian mobile) and choose my phone (N97). Clicking next opens a page which advises me to log on to email.nokia.com with my mobile browser. Doing so brings me to a download page for the latest version of messenger which I already have.
I cannot log in to Nokia Messenger online as I cannot create an account. Attempting to sign up brings me back to the enter your mobile number and choose your phone page. Dead end.
Besides syncronization is there a major difference between MfE and Nokia Messaging e-mai client? I read some time ago that if you enabled Nokia MfE synchronzation you wouldn't be able to sync the phone with the PC or othe services.
I am trying to scrap my Nokia messaging account and restart from zero. It was working OK, though my E72 handset packed up after a couple of months. Nokia replaced the handset and I reinstalled my email accounts, and lo, two weeks later it all stops working. Nokia telephone support was helpful, but their password reset has done nothing to solve the problem. Now I just want to erase all Nokia messaging in my name and start again.
It's been about a month since I found the Nokia Messaging got disconnected when the battery is low (1 bar left), then whatever I do just cannot make it get connected again.
AFAIU Nokia Messaging may or may not be free depending on the operator, which can charge you for the service.
Pretty much like BlackBerry, albeit in that case all data go through their servers.
If all connections go through your provider's APN, how would Nokia know whether you're connected to Nokia Messaging or to some other server? All data exchange simply count towards your internet bundle, regardless if you use it for mail, internet browsing or whatever else you want to do, doesn't it?
Been using this for ages, roaming and all over - always convincing folk that its a thinking persons BB. But it seemed to have stopped working on thurs 4th for some reason. Have the green circle and all the screen looks good, all other apps work fine FB and Twitter.
