I recently received a text from my network provider with a link for an application in it, However I can't open the link the option does not appear all it says is delete. Is there any way I can enable links in my phone. N96 latest firmware. unbranded I dont pretend to know everything like some people on these boards i am just trying to help. View 6 RepliesI suddenly stopped receiving notifications for text messages. I don't get sounds, the flashing green light or notifications at the top of my screen.
I have already tried going into settings > notifications and checked the "receive notification" and "play notification sound" boxes. I've chosen a notification sound with the volume up. None of this seems to work and i'm not sure why.
I cannot open any links I get in sms messages, hypertext-phone numbers etc. on my n96. Is this normal for a n96? I know I could open these on my old n70.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I click from either the "Notification" screen, or the Text Message List, I am directed to the wrong text messaging thread. This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.
Currently emails written in Chinese and Japanese are unreadable for phones from the Euro zone.Possible to enable this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just moved from LG touch (hated it) to a very basic Nokia 2220. Previously had Samsung before.
With the 2220, when I receive a text I have set the tone I want however I cannot find if this phone will allow the tone to sound after every two minutes. All my previous phones have had this facility which I like as if you don't hear the notification sound at first it alerts you every two minutes.Is it just this phone or are all Nokia's like this?
I have an Iphone 3g on verizon. I have a friend who sends out daily mass text messages containing an Internet link from a Droid LG thrill. I received the first 2 days of these messages, and then I stopped receiving them. However, if the mass text is sent out with the link, I can receive it and I can receive individual text messages from this person.

I noticed lately that when I try to send a link from a web page (iOS Safari, and all up to date on the iPhone 5s) to somebody via share message (text) in Safari, I get lag after I type the contact's name in the contact box....followed by a view of old messages from several days ago. When I click send, I would sometimes hear the send sound. Now if I check my text messages, I don't see the shared link in the conversation. if I reboot the phone it works fine until a day or two later where I experience the same issue. My prior 5s has the same issue as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've bought and set up my new Bold 9900 yesterday. Everything seems to be working fine, but email reception shows me some problems. I'm receiving all my messages they are not being shown to full extent though. I have the following settings:
- Message Display and Actions, Auto More checked
- Email Preferences: Enable HTML checked, Download images automatically checked, confirm external image download not checked
Now, just for example I receive the "I can has cheezburger" newsletter which is about 45 kB and includes links to external pictures. The Bold doesn't load the pictures and it truncates the message and shows "Truncated 15397 bytes". "More", "more all" doesn't load the rest of the message.
So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
My current text messages are being combined with old text messages, creating messages that don't reflect what I sent. The recipients of my texts are very confused....as am I when I get there response.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like my phone to vibrate for text messages and all other notifications when set to silent without having it vibrate at all times, is this possible? If I go to menu/settings/sound/ and select vibrate in silent mode it won't vibrate when im in silent mode. The only way for it to vibrate is to go to Text messaging/menu/messaging settings/ and select vibrate(also vibrate when notified) but this makes the phone vibrate at all times which is what I dont want. I took the phone to a sprint repair center and the display model did the same thing, the tech just thought it was weird and that was it.....

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a recurring problem with my N95 8gb, I can't send any texts. It started by sending the same text repeatedly until I deleted from the outbox. After a while I couldn't send texts at all, I get a error message stating that my memory is full which is not the case. I temporarily fixed this by deleting a message in my sent box and switching off the handset and when I turned on the phone again it would send the message. Although this was very annoying it worked normally for a while but now this method doesn't work anymore. What can I do to solve this? I've tried to update the firmware, tried both soft and hard reset. I have 85.3M empty RAM, 40,6M empty phone memory and 5,9gb empty on the mass memory.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy E72-1 just developed this annoying and hard-to-fix problem: It can't send SMS messages anymore. I hadn't noticed it at first, was wondering why the persons I sent messages didn't replied when I responded to their messages. Then happened to check my phones Outbox, and 6 text messages are stuck in there for several hours already. Just to test the phone further (to check if it might be a SIM card problem), I put this SIM card on another phone, and I was able to send messages on that phone. I also placed another SIM card on the E72 and tested sending a message -- the message sending gets stuck at the Outbox and never sends. Receiving SMS messages appears to work fine. Also, calling out (voice calls) and receiving calls work. other notes: in settings: "Phone Memory" (instead of memory card) is used for text messages, configured to have up to 999 messages. Currently, have around 600 SMS messages in the Inbox and maybe 150 text messages in the Sent folder. Let's says that's only around 800 messages (not yet 999 messages).
What I tried: I changed the setting from "phone memory" to "memory card", but still unable to send messages. (I reverted it back to phone memory since that's where my messages are residing.) I did a soft reset *#7780# which reset the E72's settings. Tried again to send SMS message -- it still fails. I decided to do a hard reset, so I did a full backup using Ovi Suite first. Then I did the hard reset *#7370# -- and it did solve the problem (able to send messages again), unfortunately, I would need to reinstall all the applications, contacts and restore the messages I saved. I tried restoring the backup (it was pretty big at 2.3Gb), but it's taking a very very long time (nearly an hour) and it seems to fail near the end of the restoration. The backing up of the phone took awhile (maybe 20 minutes or so) since it backedup probably the whole memory card too. (I should probably have deleted a few unneeded big files from the memory card before I did the backup since it appears that Ovi Suite is also backing up those big files).Right now, I'm doing the restoration a second time (a few hours since I first tried that and it sort of failed). During the restoration which ended with failure, it seems that when I tried sending SMS messages, it fails again. (ie. if I restore the backup, the problem is also restored) -- I'll check this again later if this is indeed the case. I still had around 130Mb free space left in the C: phone memory and the 4Gb microSDHD memory card had around 900Mb free space when I started the backing up in the first place. (mentioning these in case these might be related to the problem.)any idea what's causing the unable to send SMS message problem? another thing: does restoring backups really take an extremely long time? (I haven't tried the restoration function before, though I did a backup maybe 2 months ago) Does the phone get in a sort of "stuck" or "hanging" mode during the latter part of the restoration procedure?
I cant send text messages - although I can receive them - can someone please help me in setting this up in my phone.it has to be in the settings somewhere.

When i try to send them it saves them into the outbox, but i do not even have internet set up let alone e-mail! and whenever i try to call some one it says "emergency phone calls only!". I bought this phone as a virgin phone, and they said it would be okay to use my curent sim card, as it to is on virgin. I bought the phone on pre paid and the sim is also pre paid. However i cannot send messages, and i recently topped the sim card up before i changed handsets. Do i need to activate the phone or something?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received my N86 via courier yesterday, and did the usual setup stuff that I was prompted to do. For some reason, my phone keeps on saying "sending text message" at random intervals. I check the outbox, and nothing is there! This has been ongoing since I turned it on.
I have tried a soft and hard reset, and I have just noticed that there is a firmware upgrade available. I am in the process of charging my battery.
Do you know a method to retrieve the text messages in the Nokia 2610 and transfer them to a PC to be able to print?

1. Storing a significant amount of text messages e.g. 3000 or so (which my current 3110c can do so shouldn't be a problem)
2. Sort text messages by sender.For example, go to Inbox, By Sender.It should also be possible to sort Sent items by who they were sent to.
I'm planning to buy lumia 920 but I was wondering if I could transfer text message, photos, and contacts easily? I'm not sure if lumia has Nokia Sync since it uses another software.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my Lumia 920 and sent a few texts but found that if you type past 2 messages in one session and try to send, it comes back as saying it can't send. I tried resending but it won't go.
To send, I had to copy the message, delete the message, paste it in the field then resend. That works.
An update for the SMS+Messaging app came a few days ago but hasn't fixed the problem cause I tried sending a 3 message text and it did the same thing. Had to again copy the message, delete then send quickly.
I used to have a Nokia N8 and used Nokia suite to backup (and when needed restore!) SMS Text message on my phone to my PC. How do you do that with the Lumia 920. I don't mind backing up to the cloud if I can't backup to my PC but I just can't seem to find a backup option.
