Nokia :: N900 Would Not Charge - When Use Standard Charger

Using the plug in charger, the N900 charges okay.However...When I used a standard charger (using a Nokia standard to N900 block adaptor), the phone would not charge.I use the same block on the Nokia CK-7W car kit I have and it would not charge.Does this mean that the block is defective or the old chargers. When I connect both, it shows charging and the battery icon goes up and down and the yellow light glows on and off, but it simply doesn't charge.

Odd thing I noticed last night with my n900, in that the shortcuts that I had on the desktop would no longer open the relevant app, so I could access Phone etc.When I deleted the shortcut and went to re-add it, the Phone (and Contacts, Conversation, Clock, Photos etc) all had 2 entries for shortcuts. One of which opens the app, and the other does nothing.I've now gone through and replaced each one with the one that works, but I have no idea what caused this. Ive just noticed that my n900 makes a noise when i put it on charge and when i take it off. Best way i can describe it is that its as if a drive inside kinda shudder!

I had been using my N900 for 2 weeks without any issues. I never updated the software. Last night I was trying to take a picture and opened the camera lens cover. Accidentally I pressed the power button instead of the camera capture key while trying to take the picture. The display went off. I also found the phone felt warmer than usual. I took the battery out, put it in and tried again. No success. This time the phone did seem to be getting hot. I took the battery out and tried several hours later. No effect - the phone wasn't feeling warm either. I tried both the USB and wall charger - the LED was glowing green, but the phone wouldn't turn on.
Now even with the charger connected, the LED doesn't glow. Being a Sunday, I can't contact Nokia Care till tomorrow. Breaks my heart to think the hardware could get messed up so easily. We've had several Nokias in the family but not a high end one like N900. I've tried everything suggested in other forurms (including Maemo). I tried to update software with NSU. The NSU can't even detect the N900 when I connect it to the USB port. Probably suggests the battery is flat. I don't have a 5800 to try and recharge the battery externally - its shocking to know the phone can't charge if the battery is flat. If a laptop can why can't a "smart" phone? Anything else I can try?

I've had my N8 three weeks now, and the last few days I seem to have a problem charging the phone. When I plug in the wall charger, the phone fails to recognize that I plugged it in. No charging message, no beep, nothing. I also tried plugging the USB cord into an outlet via an USB adapter, and nothing happens.
I tried plugging the phone into my computer via to charge and it seems to be working at the moment..
But this is unacceptable. I will not be around a computer all the time. Why isn't my N8 detecting when I plug it in using the provided wall charger? Is this a hardware issue? Do I need to return/repair it? I have a 2 amp, iPhone 5 compatable USB adapter in my car. When I use this on my Lumia 920 it is charging very slow, 2-3% over a half hour. It charges an iPhone 5 rather rapidly. I could get by on my iPhone for the week and only charge only need to ever charge on my work commute.
If I run Nokia Drive is running the phone will lose charge while charging. Nokia Drive is no good if the phone cannot maintain power.

I have a usb car charger with a cable that has a usb plug on one end, and on the other end there is a nokia 2.0mm charger plug. like this one: [URL] But the problem is that it's not fully charge my Nokia 5800, only about 85%-90%. I connect the phone to PC and switched to offline mode, so it shouldn't consume much electricity, when I come back an hour later I find the phone stopped charging, it on and off refuse to charge for no reason, this is very annoying

I am new to the forum and have a prob with my n900 basically it wont charge,if i plug it in to any charger it will just either have a solid orange light on or slow flash the orange light 5 times then repeat the cycle.if i put a new charged battery in it from my sisters phone it works perfectly.

took my shiny new n900 out of my pocket only to discover the lcd is cracked. I have spoken to vodafone who say it can be repaired under warranty free of charge. do you think this is correct ?.I was not sure if accidental damage is covered. Dont want to be landed with a big bill if they repair it outside of warranty. i was only sat in a chair when lcd cracked, not dropped or fell on, i thought it was a bit tougher that this.

Just got my E7 earlier this week. It will charge perfectly using the mains adaptor, and when I connect it to my PC via USB, it charges, but it will not work with the car USB charger that I have.I know the charger works, because I have used it on other phones, but it will not work on my E7.

Anyone knowns any remedy for my Iphone 4 not holding charge with its charger. I tried charging another iphone with the same charger and it is working ok so it is not the charger that is at fault. Is there anything I can do or change in the settings maybe?

Can I charge my iPhone 4 with an iPad charger? The iPhone charger charge with 1.0 Amp whereas the iPad chargere is charging with 2.1 Amp; does this higher charge intensity overheats the iPhone battery or could this reduce the livetime of the iPhone?

I cannot get my new torch 9810 to charge with a usb car charger. All the ones I have tried (4 brands) do not work. The phone does not recognize them as a charging source. They will charge my ipad, iphone 4s , curve and torch 9800 but not my 9810. I am reluctant to buy a charger for this phone only. Fustrated again with BB.

I've had my iPhone5s for about six months. It's had no power for some days since I lost my lightning cable - it's basically completely out of power. I've charged it once in the last week with a certified Apple lightning cable, but now it no longer responds to any cables at all.Â
I've tried with two different cables (neither are certified Apple cables, but both work well with their owner's iPhones) and the phone does not respond at all. I've tried charging through my computer and using a wall socket, but the phone does nothing, even after it's been plugged-in for more than an hour. Â
Why my phone has stopped responding and what I could do to get it start charging? Could it be the battery?Â

The adaptive fast charger that came with my phone works well with my galaxy s6. Fast charging works well and I can get up to 50% charge in about 25 mins. But the problem is it doesn't charge any other phone apart from galaxy s6. If I plug my htc one or lg g3 or any other phone (even blackberry), it will indicate its charging but won't add any juice. I've tried charging other phones for up to 30 mins, rather than charging the battery % will either stay where it is or sometimes drain. It can't even charge simple things like a modem or even a ps4 controller. I once plugged a ps4 controller and the charging light indicated, but to my surprise after 1 hour of charging it still was not able to add one bar to the battery. In fact if I plug a phone with 2% battery , after 20 mins of charging the phone dies.

The battery simply won't charge from my charger. It will charge fine in the car, but from the wall? I have to manipulate the plug (as if there's a short), but there isn't. Now, it just doesn't hold a charge at all.And, I got a new battery, so there.

With all the problems bb having I tryed to reboot my mobile by pulling my battery, yes the battery was low but when I put it back in my phone was dead I have tried charging by usb and wall charger, my computer wont find it and I don't know what to do I also tried a new battery sill no good!
