My phone is basically in English but my second language if Hebrew, and I can't change the language on toe keyboard, it only works on the virtual one, how do I change the language on the keyboard?
i just updated my xperia x10 software yesterday & instaed of showing number, it shows korean letter at the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard. how do i change it back to numbers?
If it's at all possible, how can I change the language of my keyboard on my iPhone from English to Korean (I have the two keyboards installed and ready to use)Â without using the globe key to switch between the two? I find it very tedious to have to switch from English to Korean by tapping the globe key then tapping it again to switch back. Is there a way to change the setting or can I download an app to work with this?
I'm having a problem with my multi-touch keyboard it wont change language when i chose English and Other language it only display English languge when i slide the space bar to another language it still English letters Swipe keyboard working good tho , I didnt have this problem when i first got my Atrix whats wrong
I'm sure this is a simple one to those of you who have been using the N900 a while, but when using the virtual keyboard, how do you accept the suggested word while typing? I've tried every arrow on the keyboard and am stumped.
I have chosen English for the main language and Greek for typing language, but I cannot read sent or received SMS although they are sent and read properly by the recipients. When I turn typung language into English I can read the messages but still with problems...in that case I have to change language each time i m writing a message. That seems to be a problem.Does anybody knows anything about that?
I tend to use the virtual keyboard when sending sms text in conversations. My question is when ive finished typing the message i cannot see any key to take me back to where you press the 'send' button.I end up having to touch the space on the screen above my message to take me to where the send button. Is this the only way ? Nokia n900.
While typing text either in emails or messages, I fail to see how to accept autocorrected entries via the virtual keyboard. On the hardware keyboard it is done by pressing > key (itself not very convenient), but I haven't found any way of doing it on the software keyboard.
The backlighting of my keyboard has completely stopped, along with the notification light. Noticed it a few days ago.I've checked the notification settings and nothing has been changed, but the light no longer works/indicates for any functions. The loss of backlighting for the keyboard is the issue that I find the most concerning. Other than these two issues, I really couldn't be more pleased with my N900 and the Maemo experience.
My N900 has Scandinavian (Finnish) keyboard. After installing a couple of games(Duke nukem 3d and Abuse) and I think one of these probably crashed, it got left in US keyboard mode (I think). I see that there is a new file created called /home/user/int_kb_layout that has string "us" inside it. Just deleting this file and restarting the phone does not help. Searching around I find that perhaps some tool called /usr/bin/gconftool-2 might need to be used, but I got more confused. Therefore I might ask in general how one can get back their default keyboard maps for their N900?
Does anyone know how to setup the N900 so it sees a stowaway bluetooth keyboard? I'm not knowledgable with Linux code so you would have to provide all detail if I had to make script adjustments. I'm sure this has been done but maemo.org usually talks at programmers level on tasks such as this one.
My N900 got in a deep coma after the battery ran empty. I managed to get it out after flashing the device with the vanilla image and the latest OS following the instructions on the Meamo WIKI: https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware Flashing through windows didn't work (almost sent it to Nokia) but booting fom an Ubuntu USB stick and flash the N900 did do the trick at the end. The following images are flashed: RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin RX-51_2009SE_ 3.2010.02 -8.002 _PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin. The device seem to work OK again until I tried to enter some text from the keyboard. Some characters now seem to be inter connected: when I enter an 'a' it becomes 'oa' when I enter an 'o' it becomes also 'oa' when I enter an 'x' it becomes '.x' when I enter an '.' it becomes also '.x' when I enter an 'd' it becomes 'dk' when I enter an 'k' it becomes also 'dk' when I enter an '#' it becomes '#&'when I enter an '&' it becomes also '#&' I verified 'text input' and 'language®ional settings' under 'setting' but nothing seems to be wrong there. I don't us any custom dictionairy. The vitual keyboard work normal. It pretty much sucks when the keyboard can't be used. does anybody has a solution for this issue?
I bought a phone that showed out to have English and French as its language pack, but I need the Scandinavian. I can't even write SMS messages in my own language with this phone, which is hopeless. Can I change the language pack easily to Scandinavian languages, and how? It's a Nokia 5230.
I am trying to change the language for voice tag playback to Croatian, but leave phone interface language in English. Is ti possible? If I set English as Phone language (Settings->Phone->Phone language) everything is played by synthesized English language and user interface is in English. If I set Croatian as Phone language everything is played by synthesized Croatian language and user interface is in Croatian. Are there no other possibilities, like Voice playback language on S40?

Is there any way how I can change the input language on my n82 without navigating the whole way through the settings? Some kind of shortcut like on the e-series. I had the idea to emulate the necessary keys from e-series phones using magickey:
I have used Ovi Map 3.03 with free navigation license.I have only one question, is it possible to change the map language to my local language (Thai) without changing the phone language? Example, now I set my phone language as English then my map shown in English else set phone language to Thai then map will show in Thai. Is it possible to used phone language in English but map label shown in Thai? because phone language in Thai has many incorrect translations.
I recently bought Nokia Lumia 920 in UAE. It came pre-installed with all Nokia location service apps - Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive+, Nokia City Lens, Nokia Transit. By default, a lot of stuff, directions, routes, info comes in Arabic language. Now, i am an expat living in UAE (like the other 90% of the population) and i do not read or understand Arabic. How can i make all these apps show me info in English? Its bugging me a lot cause am unable to use any of these apps properly.
I ssh from n900 to a debian server, which has locale sv_SE.ISO-8859-1. This mostly works fine, except when reading/writing email in mutt. I have had this problem with other terminals and usually solve it by changing locale to ISO-8859-1 (yes, I am not interested in UTF-8), but I can't find any instructions for changing n900 xterm to ISO-8859-1.
