I have a few mp3's showing no album art & would like to download the images (from Google images) to enable the "change album art" option to work.I can't see an obvious way to do this e.g. there is no option to download images, either from Nokia web browser or via the album art function.
I would like to download images to my phone e.g. from my Facebook albums. 1. Is this possible from the built-in browser ? I can do it from Opera Mini, but haven't found a straightforward method for the Nokia browser.
2. The images I did download are very small (certainly smaller than the were when uploaded). Is it possible to download the full-sized image ? If not, is this a phone/browser or Facebook limitation ?
I have 148 images to download to PC but the wizard only downloaded 125 . Can someone tell me why I can not capture the other 23 images even though I can view them in the gallery?
When I get emails when I select download images nothing happens. I get all the text and place holders for the images and that's it. It use to work but now dosent.
I downloaded iPhoto to my iPhone, then I attached the SD card reader to my iPhone, inserted the camera SD card with pix, yet the phone won't recognize the SD card reader. How do I download images from the SD card to my iPhone 5?
Since lollipop update any images I save from google go directly to my download folder.. Why? Any other images I save from. Twitter or Facebook or chat save into my gallery.. Wallpapers I save from google when I open them in download folder it won't let me set as wallpaper, is their any way around this or do I need to stop using chrome..
Just got a 950XL. New to Windows Phone. My old Note 3's Android Gmail client was able to automatically download picture attachments. I think I checked off all the right boxes in my Outlook's settings but pics don't download until I click on the icon.
Is there a trick I'm missing?
It's very annoying to get multiple pictures in a message but need to click each picture icon and wait for it to download. In my Android Gmail client, if I wait long enough (not long), the picture would all be there and waiting by the time I open the message.
I moved to BlackBerry Bold 9700 about two weeks ago. Everything works great, except for one issue. Images in my HTML email messages don't download. I have tried all combinations of settings on automatically download images and confirm images download, in the Options > Email Settings menu. What happens is: When I hard reset the phone (take out the battery and reinsert it), and then do Get Images, images download. However, this continues only for some 3-4 hours, or say about 10-15 messages. After a point, Get Images doesn't download images. Even the arrows on the top right of the screen, that indicate an attempt to download, don't come. It almost seems like the phone has kept a limited space aside to download images in HTML messages, and this space is filled up and hence it stops downloading. The moment the battery is taken out and reinserted, Get Images works. But again for some time only.Tried taking Vodafone's help. They updated my Service Book, which according to them is the "standard solution" to Images downloading problem. But nothing happened. Which is expected, because they were possibly giving me a solution for images never downloading. In my case, they download for a bit, and then refuse to, till hard reset.Tried finding where any memory related settings could be there. Found a thing in Settings > Memory > Compression. Tried both Enabled and Disabled, it doesn't help.
Images in my HTML emails wont download automatically (need to select ˜Get Images˜within each email to get images) even though under email preferences it is setup (box checked) as ˜Download Images Automatically and the Confirm External Image Download box is unchecked. In my old Bold 9000 there was no way to setup the device to download images automatically but I thought the Torch 9800 would be able to.Is At overriding this profile setting?
I tried to take out my memory card, but it stilll connnects without asking. Is there a way to check what app connects to 3g? I dont want to uninstall apps or do a reset. I tried to disconnect it with connection manager but still does the same.
I have seen on the Internet that there is an v40.0.005 update for Nokia 5800XM. But I can't download this 'Over the Air' and in Nokia Software Updater? Product code: 0578577.
I got a Nokia 5800XM with the v31. Now I've been trying to update it to v40, But it won't let me update it. It still detects that the latest update is v31 not v40. My RSM is 365 and code is: 0587678
I understand that FW v40 has introduced some new features like kinetic srolling etc. But also it removed appointments/todo lists from Home screen! What else it improved? Did it fix shortcut disappearing after USB disconnect? Or phone hanging on restart unless memory card taken out?
Whenever I set a place and select "drive to", it always ask me: "Online connection required to enter the shop. Connect now?" when I select NO, it will not work. It can show where I am, but don't tell me how to go to my destination.
I bought an unlocked 5800XM (RM-428, fw 21.2.025) for my wife a couple of months ago. It is actually Cincinnati Bell branded, but we are using it in AT&T. Until yesterday everything was going smoothly until she was not able to send SMS's anymore.
I verified the SMS center #, all other settings etc., but to no avail. I even put my SIM in the phone and I wasn't able to do that, either. The phone was able to receive messages, though. And she was able to send messages on another phone.
So... I decided to use my Nokia PC Suite and Software Updater to check if there is an update available. No, there wasn't, but I still decided to go ahead and do a reinstall. Just in case.
The process went great, no problems, error messages etc. Except a "phone disconnected" (I never touched the phone or cable while the update process was going on) message a couple of times, which the PC Suite said is okay. Until I tried turning the phone on.
NOTHING! I press the power button and the screen lights up briefly, but that's it. Then I decided to press the button a bit longer so that I would feel the usual brief vibration when turning it on. Well, there is a vibration, but it continues for about a minute, or so, and then stops. But the phone still doesn't turn on.
I've got a 5800xm on T-mobile in the UK which had software version 21.0.025. Checked for updates on the phone and had the 'no updates available' message. Went onto Ovi Suite, did a backup of my phone, then updated the software to version 31.0.101 which should be compatable with Ovi/Nokia maps 3.3 (with FREE navigation). After several attempt to download and install the new map software (through Ovi store on the handset, Ovi.com, and Ovi Suite) I finally managed to get the 'installation complete' message
I don't get the dashboard when I first start Ovi maps each time, which is supposed to show that it is indeed the new version that you're running. Now when I start to plan a route, I get the first turn voice command, then my phone shows 'updating' then proceeds to ask me for money! If I go into options - about (on maps), I'm supposedly running v31.01 09wk26. If I go into settings - application manager - installed application, Ovi maps shows version 3.03(246) being installed. Tonight I connected the 5800 to my PC to download some maps using maploader, and Ovi Suite came up with an option to install Maps v3
For a change, this is not a post to complain about my phone. Just a post to say thanx to Nokia. I got a 5800 since about a year now. At the beginning I was a little bit disappointed because of no office document reader, no free navigation, no kinetic scrolling but all these came, one by one, every 3 months or so.
And I am just so happy with what I can do with it (Calendar sync with Outlook, MP3, stereo audio bluetooth, read my emails with WiFi, use Google Maps, Google Mail) and with the improvements that have been delivered through the several firmware releases. Especially OVI MAPS with Free worldwide GPS Navigation, this is so cool. And the new music player, and the free Office document reader.
Of course there is always room for improvement. I'd like to : - sync my address book & mail with Thunderbird - open PDF document - get rid of the Nokia internet browser for the new Opera - never have to restart my phone for software problem - charge it from USB etc.
I have had 2 times issue that phone screen freezes during call. No keys helped, but ON/OFFswitch. Updated to last version of v40.0.005. Don't remember the exact conditions or sequece of actions, just got unpleasant case. I noticed also that batteryindicator showed 1 stripe of battery. After restart , the battery was full. Is this expected action for this phone? Should Itake it back to service? My phone is used ~1 week, so there can't be any issues caused by wrong usage.
well i dutifully upgraded to the latest firmware and while the kinetic scrolling is nice i feel there has been an attempt to emulate the iphone somewhat with the 'slider' functions for answering calls and turning off alarms?
frankly i think they are awful and fiddly there was nothing wrong with the origional touch button functions. the rest is fine nokia honestly i Heart my 5800 immensly but stop trying to ape the iphone and just do your own thing
Anybody can help me, suddenly my phone began to be very slow when is starting, take 5 minute to start the main screen.notice that I take out the microsd card, inmediately run and star the well.
Most of time I'm using my Nokia 5800xm (about 12hours per day). I mean I'm living with my phone. so i wanna know any risk of using? will my usage harm to my phone. but I'm using it very carefully.
I have various calendar alarms set on my Nokia 5800XM. It has the latest software according to OVI although I have seen a slightly later release online. When an alarm sounds the phone seems to lock up. I can't stop or silence the alarm nor can I unlock the screen to do so. To stop the alarms I have to either switch the phone off or press the red button which snoozes the alarms for 10 mins.
A rather odd problem propped up the other day after I updated to V40 on my 5800 XM. The ringtone I've been using for a while suddenly changed itself...
If someone were to call, the ringtone SHOULD be the my personal ringtone, instead it is the Nokia Tune tone. But the issue is that it changes constantly, so this person could call the first time, the ringtone would be the Nokia Tune. The next time they call, say, perhaps 5 minutes later, it'd be my personal ringtone.I've already checked and the ringtone (a music file) is definitely still there and I can play it through the music player.
The 'General' profile is where this particular ringtone is set and it's still set there too. I've tried changing it to another music file, then changing it back to the original file but still the problem persists.I've even gone as far as removing the entire music library from the phone (all music files are located on the Memory Card) and re-transferring it over to the phone from my PC.
It's not particular to any contact and sometimes, it'll play my personal ringtone for a call and the next call it'd be the Nokia Tune. It's only ever the Nokia Tune that it changes to by itself.
I have downloaded to my phone a very good internet browser called UC Browser (http://www.uc.cn/English/download.shtml ), I am finding it a lot better than the built in Nokia one but when I want to open up a link the hone always uses its original browser, how can I get it to open up in this new browser instead? I have looked in application settings and cannot see how to selct the other browser as default browser.
A couple of days ago I had to a hard reset (all 3 stages) and since then the PC won't recognise my 5800 as a phone (in media transfer mode)..........BUT it now recognises the memory card as a proper computer drive (drive D, a second HDD which is now corrupted) if put into 'mass storage' mode!! It now appears on the Windows device driver as a 'portable device' and not under 'USB connections' as before.I've done a System restore on the PC to back before the phone reset with no success. And the phone behaves perfectly in all respects. The problem with the 5800 not being detected as a phone is that the C drive does not appear and so is not accessible.
Apparently this includes the following: - Browser 7.2 - Lifecasting (with Maps 3.0T SR3.0) - Flash Video Phase-3 - Flashlite 3.1.7.x - Gimlet Touch 2.2 - Kinetic scrolling in Appshell (Menu grid) - OVI Sync 2.0 - Hurriganes Music Player - Enable Side lock Key functionality during Swipe UI (Calendar/Clock alarm) - Windows 7 Device Stage Support - OVI store 1.5.6 - Quick Office v4.2 - OVI Music - Cherry v2.1 - Rihanna service launcher - OVI contacts 1.50.8 - Workaround for Niagara (SMD) display module for DFS52.50 based products
I can see the new music player (with it's loss of Find function!) but not sure where all these other things are? QuickOffice (not listed in apps)? Flashlite (what is this ?), Gimlet Touch (ditto) etc.
I love my Nokia 5800XM phone. I"m still trying to learn it all, but I have one problem. When someone sends me a picture it comes in very small. I don't know why. When I save the picture it's that same size. I would love for someone to help me with this. What's the point of haveing a camra phone or having people send you pictures if you can't see them?
