Nokia :: E72 - Mark Items In Messaging - Inbox - Sms
Feb 16, 2010
I just got my E72. I find that I am not able to mark item(s) in my messaging inbox /sms. I will need to manually click options -> mark/unmark -> .. I thought there is an easier way like " shift + dpad centre button" ? how come it doesn't work on my E72?
After reading all this threads about different issues with Nokia, here are my problems with the new Belle:
1st - the backup during installation DID NOT saved setting on my phone so I had to remake them all over again. The explanation I came up with is the new OS etc.
2nd - there is no option to see messaging as in normal view with inbox, Sent items, Delivery reports etc. Everything is shown as in conversation thus I can't personalize my view. Meanwhile there is still option in settings to receive delivery report which I can not see because it is not shown in conversation window. After some time I choose to restore factory settings and get back to Anna. Imagine my surprise when after rebooting the new OS was still on and this is NOT my original software.
3rd there are some other "small" but annoying changes, one of them is the fact I can not switch to battery saving anymore, can not use fast change of profile, if I don't have gadget for clock (and I don't) I need to go through menu in order to change alarm or time.
Basically I want to know is there a way to downgrade to a previous OS or should I bring my phone to the service?
How do I see my sent box, inbox etc. All I see on the home screen is in the top left corner an envelope I can press to compile a text message. Where is my inbox, sent box etc? Also how do I delete a draft message? Can't see a delete option anywhere?
I've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.
N97 on V20.Some incoming text messages display a blue question mark when viewing my inbox rather than the text message icon and cannot be opened or read using voice reader.
Doesn't seem to relate to network coverage as it has happened when I have had a full signal. It's an intermittent fault but an irritating one. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to stop it happening please ?

I used to be able to press the blackberry button (think thats what its called) when in my inbox and get various options including mark as unread (as well as forward, reply to all, etc). I now seem to be able to only do from this from in the email itself as if I am in my in box and press the button I need to hold it down and then I get a shortcut menu appearing. Have I accidently created this or has blackberry changed this as I recently upgraded one of their apps (though thought it was messenger)?
I have my work email self sort using rules so that messages from certain people (ie the Boss) go into their own inbox, so they don't get missed. However, only the mail from the main mailbox is getting pushed to my iPhone, not the mail from the Boss folder.
I've gone into the Exchange account settings on my iPhone and I have set the inbox, plus 4 other folders to be pushed. However, only the inbox is getting pushed. FWIW, here's the rule: After the message arrives, move messages from BOSS to BOSS folder.
I use Webmail from Time Warner Cable (RoadRunner) for my e-mail. When I am using my e-mail on my home computer (using the internet to access webmail.wi.rr.com) and delete an item in my inbox, the e-mail still shows up on my phone. Additionally, when I delete an e-mail on my phone, it still shows up in my e-mail on my home computer (using the internet to access webmail.wi.rr.com). Does anyone know why this is happning and how I can get the inboxes to match one another?
I've tried and tried, but I can only scroll down to the 20th or so message in my inbox, then the view automatically goes back to the top (first message). According to the phone, the view is being updated.
So my question is, how can I view the messages at the bottom of my inbox?? I've never used a touch screen before, so I was also wondering whether there is a quick way to get to the bottom of a long list.
The online Atrix 2 manual, linK: http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/US-EN/Mobile%20Phones/Motorola_ATRIX_2/Documents/StaticFiles/ATRIX2_UG_US_EN_68016171001A.pdfpage 27 says:---------Quick Start: MessagingSend and receive quick text messages orfull emails.Find it: > Messaging > Universal InboxProblem is, I dont have a Universal Inbox. When I click on the Messaging Icon, all I get is(see photo): Top line says Messaging with a + sign on right side; and an icon, in the main screen area, that says Text Messaging and has a "1" on it. Im assuming that means 1 contact, but I have all my contacts on the phone (and yes thats more than 1)hen I click on the + sign at top right, a small window appears, below the text messaging icon, that says - Choose Account, on top line, and Text message below; (see attachment).
I have a Nokia E71 just update to the firmware 410.21.010. I did not recovered backup after the upgrade and I formatted the memory card, so it's completely clean.
Now, Nokia Email has appear as new included application so I would like to use it, but when I configure my email account (form a supported services: ovi, gmail, etc...), the wizard only configures my mobile for the typical IMAP client. It's strange, because I have a different E71 also update to this same firmare and Nokia Messaging works fine and creates the Nokia Messaging account. How could use Nokia Messaging with my E71?. Is there some way to create a Nokia Messaging account form the web instead from the phone?.
So I set up my gmail account via the BIS or whatever plug-in, and all seems to be working ok. The problem is that the emails go straight to my general "Messages" inbox, but nothing shows up in my Gmail account inbox when i click on that specific icon. I do have SMS/MMS broken out into a separate inbox, but i'd like to use the gmail inbox where it threads messages with the same topic instead of the general messages inbox.tried resending service books.
I don't know why this happened, I woke up this morning and it was like this. Whenever I try to open my email inbox the SMS inbox opens. Even if I go directly to my individual accounts on my BB (yahoo and gmail) and try to open them directly, it still opens my SMS inbox. I can't figure this out and can't find an answer. I have to check all my emails my going onto a computer. I still get notifications of new emails on my BB, but can't view them because only the SMS inbox will come up. I need my email inbox to show when I click on my email inbox.
My Iphone4 email inbox is showing there is over 1,000 messages in the inbox but in fact there is only a few and email on my pc shows correctly. I cannot get the phone to show me the correct number of messages. Apart from this problem all email related things are working correctly.

I can never know the current temperature from the application "Climate", as this always makes 3 to 5 degrees lower than the actual temperature. The strange thing about this is that the application "Guides" (also built with the suite of Nokia Maps 2.0) if you check the correct temperature.I was making comparisons and in Windows 7 the current temperature is 31 º C. The alicación "Guide" shows 31 ° C, the websites show 31 ° C, but the application "Climate" shows 29 º C, never does it well. Why is this? if both "Climate" and "Guides" are part of the suite of Nokia Maps.
I have a C5-03 which I regularly use to download and listen to podcasts.Recently, a very thick exclamation mark appeared next to one of the podcast series, on the main podcast screen (podcasting -> podcasts). The exclamation mark is well to the right of the podcast name, just to the left of where the tick would be if the podcast were marked, which is itself to the left of the slide bar.The exclamation mark has stayed there for a few days, during which I have downloaded, played and deleted several episodes. There is nothing about it in the user guide
This is my first post to this forum, i have a nokia 5235(Comes with music) phone , everything is nice but i can,t mark the multiple messages or files at one go, i mean i have to open menu every time to select one object. Such as Mark Several option as Sony Ericsson phones do have.
I added my hotmail account on my N900 but now it says that I have about 2000 unread emails. How can I easily mark all emails as read or get it to only receive new emails?
Is it possible to move messages from the sent folder to other folders within Mail for Exchange. My company uses Exchange 2007 and sometimes I reply to queries from my N900. However although the N900 does synchronize the sent items folder from Exchange 2007 any outgoing messages are stored in the Sent folder. Therefore any messages I send from the phone are not synchronized back to my desktop Outlook. The only way round this I have found is by bcc'ing myself on all messages which does get quite tedious.
I have tried creating a mobile sent folder in Outlook which then synchronizes to the phone. However when I try moving a message on the phone from the Sent folder to the Mobile sent folder I get an error message "Unable to move to current location."
I've just got the Nokia X6 and am slowly learning its bits, but have managed to drag lots of icons onto the homescreen. Unfortunately, I can't seem to drag them back off.
I just bought nokia 6303i classic and i am surprised to see that there is no option to mark/ markall messages in inbox or sent items. If i want to deleted mulitple.
I have been using N86 for the past 2-3 years and this week I switched to nokia n8, I upgraded it to belle the very first day and everything seems to be working well n good except for this thing. I have above 700 songs in my music library and there is no way to mark multiple songs in the music library of nokia n8 so that I can add them to specific playlists. Is there some simpler way to do this maybe I am missing it because its my first experience with a touch phone. OR has nokia been so ignorant that this feature was not implemented in this OS, which I personally think is not possible (cos I don't expect such a thing from Nokia btw). I don't want to long press every single song and then add to playlist and repeat the same process for above 700 records it will take me a whole day I guess.
Quite a few mobile versions of websites have a numbered list that accesses various pages. The idea is that you just press the number, and it will go to that link.I can't figure out a way to use this feature on the E72. Does anyone know how to do it?
With the newer Nokia Messaging versions (like the one included in the most recent E72 fw update) the behavior with POP email accounts is different. When replying to a message or forwarding a message the message does NOT show up in the Sent Items folder of the PHONE. If you send a message (without reply or forward) it DOES show up in the sent items folder of the phone. With the older versions of Nokia Messaging this did work. Extremely annoying for a messaging device. Nokia please FIX this or provide downgrades for.
