A buddy of mine offered to buy me any device under $500 since I left my iPod at his house in TN and he wants to keep it - yes, it is packed with Music.Anyway, I was looking for a device that I could put my movies and music on and not have to worry about conversion and working with an iPod - was leaning towards the 64gb iPod Touch - and someone recommended the N900. After doing some research, it seems that this phone could really be perfect.Has anyone gotten a 3g modem shared via wifi to work? Looks the there is a program called JokiuSpot that claims to do that with Nokia Smartphones, does that include the N900?
How is video playback? Will the audio portion sync with iTunes? What would be the best way to use this with my BlackBerry, get a 2nd SIM card that only does Data (Do they do that in the US?) or just swap SIM cards? Is the BB Data Plan different from the one I would need to use the N900 while travelling and what not? What are your guys overall impressions of the N900?
i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.
I have lost my earplugs for my BH-904 bluetooth headset (the curved earplug), does anyone know if I can get a replacement from anywhere?I have phoned Nokia support and it was a waste of 40 mins.I have emailed Nokia support about a week ago but I've have no reply.
After a bad experience with an 'authorized' Nokia service centre, I am now in the need to replace my display.
After the repair of the USB hatch, the display gave a problem - and when we told them they seem to have fitted a different display. The display now goes completely dark whenever the backlight is off, and also has very bad legibility in daylight even with backlight.
I don't really trust the service centre anymore, and am going to replace the display myself. I want to ask my friends around if they are dumping any compatible phone - so that I can use their display. Do you know if there are any other phones where same display as N82 is used?
Been offered a couple of phones as replacement for my problem prone N97 and this is the list
Nokia E72 Sony Ericsson Vivaz Sony Ericsson Satio Nokia X6
My initial reaction was to reject all of them as I feel they all fall under the Mid Range umbrella, while the N97 is marketed as High End so I expect a high end replacement.
I had my motherboard replaced by NOKIA because it would not turn on (vibrates only). When I got my "refurbished" E52 (Product code: 0573916) from the NOKIA Care Center, I could not adjust the display brightness. It had the firmware version 033.002 so I flashed it and upgraded to 034.001 thinking that it would solve the problem. The NOKIA Care personnel told me that it's a common issue for replacement motherboards and there's nothing they (or we) could do about it. It was NOKIA who gave them the replacement motherboard. This is my worst case with NOKIA, so far.
I went to a lot of shops in Bangalore and the shop guys told me that the Nokia 5230 is no more in production and now they only have Nokia 5233. Could someone confirm it Nokia has stopped production of 5230. Also they told me that 5230 has some software problems due to which they stopped production. Also the only difference between Nokia 5230 and 5233 is that the former has 3G and the latter doesnt is it true? Thanks in advance for the answers.
I recently had my handset replaced, and had one or two connection problems, checked all my settings etc. (which I know inside out) and couldn't get everything to work correctly, internet very hit and miss, and text messages a bit 'laggy'. Called Vodafone (but assume any SIM could create the same problems) and after a chat and receiving obvious advice and solutions I'd tried, the VF advisor asked how long I'd had my SIM, and it turned out it was about 5/6 years old!
I just received a new replacement SIM, and had configuration settings sent by text and removed all my old destinations, and the whole thing is working great. The moral of the story being, replace your SIM card every couple of years, I didn't realize how much difference it could make.
My 5140i is old and tired.I need the rugged body. I am a tradie, that until the 5140i, was a phone killer. GSM or 3G networks, don't need fancy features.I need the next version of the 5140i.It has to be tough, durable, dependable.I have warn out my 4th set of replacable screen and keypad covers.Any suggestion what my new nokia is called?
I installed the CK-200 last weekend. Unfortunately the remote managed to work its way off the steering wheel and completely disappear within three days.I've asked about 20 different suppliers whether they stock replacement remotes and they all say no. I asked Nokia UK Support and they tell me to contact suppliers as they no longer have an online shop. Can someone please put me in the direction of a replacement part? Surely a company of Nokia's stature must have a parts supply chain somewhere?!?
I'm an avid user of the Nokia Communicators series, and have been since it's many incarnations from the 9000, 9200, 9500 and now the E90.The inner screen on my E90 initially passed out, and has now unfortunately given up the ghost! Hence, I'm now desparately looking for a (new) European replacement. Doesanyone know if I can purchase a new E90 either directly from Nokia - Finland, Nokia - Mainland Europe or somewhere else, but of similar (good) repute? Since Nokia closed it's store in London's Regent Street, it's left us Brits having to rely on services from the likes of Phones4U, enough said!
I wonder if anyone can clarify the following:- My N97 is due to have the complete back assembly replaced due to bad GPS reception (been on order for 4 weeks but due to be delivered this week). I have read on other forums that a piece of foam is also fitted at the same time which shields the GPS receiver from interference from the main circuit board? The NSC technician has not heard of the foam so has not ordered it. My question is :- does the N97 still need the foam or is this foam now incorporated within the new back assembly.
I don't know how it happened, but the plastic cover(mounted to camera) which covers the lens & flash has an oblique crack across it.
It's not interfering with picture-taking (and I still have the removable clear plastic cover over the top (the one that comes with new camera). Is it worth repairing ?If so, how would I go about this ?
I was generally a bit ticked-off with my E7, particularly because its USB port had gone extremely dodgy. sorted by my service provider by simply swapping the handset. The new one, however, has come with a completely different set of software loaded. Most of which is fine, but the Location App, with GPS data has dissappeared, and it's one of the items I used a lot.
I've looked at other GPS apps, but they don't have the functionality of the "location" app, mainly the ability to set a destination (via longitude and lattitude) and have it direct you there. This app has been on Nokia phones for years and years, and yet suddlenly this phone doesn't have it. Most odd.
Is it available for download from anywhere? I've looked for it on OVI for quite some time, but to no avail.
Having trouble finding four new original soft-rubber bluey-green cases - I can never remember what color they started as before they faded - for 5210. They're the weather-resist bouncy ones as opposed to the generic non-Nokia replacements which seem to all be hard plastic.
Orange replaced my 5800 Music phone because it developed a fault. I stuck in the MicroSD card from my old phone which had all my music on it but the new phone won't play any tracks because the license is wrong.Do I need to redownload to my PC all the music I already have?Or can I delete all the tracks from my new 5800 and just copy from my PC to it and it will recognise the old tracks I downloaded for my old 5800? I can't just try it out because I'm away from home right now, I just want to know what I will need to do when I get back at the weekend.I really don't want to download all my music againg from Nokia because that site is so painful it's like sticking needles in your eyes.
I have a Ford Ranger, fitted with a Nokia CK 7W. I have a Nokia N96 and this has worked brilliantly with the CK 7W since I purchased the vehicle in October. I have recently bought a high end ipod transmitter and used it since Christmas and very impressed with the permormance, and had no problems.Last week the vehicle went in to have towbar electrics wired in and since then I have had problems, I believe with the car kit. The handsfree works wonderfully over bluetooth, and the radio functions fine. However when I use the ipod transmitter, I get a beep every 30-60 seconds from the carkit through the radio. I have tried switching off the bluetooth so I know my phone isnt connecting, and tried it connected. Still the same beep. Is there any chance the transmitter is affecting the car kit? And why would this have changed since the work, would it be to do with the battery being disconnected and the car kit needing a reboot of some kind?
I've just came back from Vodafone with a brand new Nokia E72 and very pleased with it, however I've installed Spotify and streamed some music from it, it sounds fine when using the bundled earphones but if I use my iPod earphones or Skullcandy's it sounds awful like its only coming out of one ear, can anyone help?
I have a Nokia X6 16GB. Loaded around 1000 songs on it, but now I can;t find the search function anywhere. Is it possible to search for a track, or artist or album on the X6?
Does anyone know of a third Party S60 music player sincing iTunes' song rating & play count information with the phone's music library ?I mean: it's already possible to sync iTunes' playlists with Nokia's Media Sync on MAC (and with Salling' Media Sync) on PC, however there is no option like with iPod/iPhone to rate a song while you listen to it on the go. Did I miss anything ?
I am on version 1.2009.44 but version 2.2009.51 is available on my N900.I go to download and it says I need to download through the nokia software updater on my PC.So I connect it to my PC suite and run software updater and it cant find anything it says I am all upto date. But I am not.any help?
Just purchased an N900. I've also got a Skype account all set up and enabled on the N900. I'd really like to know if there is a way that the low rez camera that would normally be used for video calls, can also be used as a webcam when I'm Skyping to my friends? Honestly I don't even know how to use...or even discovered all the functions of this awesome smart phone. So...for the time being, here are my 3 inquiries: 1. How to invoke the low rez cam to function as a webcam when Skyping (if it can be done) 2. How do I bring up the "virtual" keypad? 3. How do I get to the built in Users Manual, that resides somewhere in the belly of this beast?
I have a Nokia N95 and it's been great. But it looks like I've been useing it for target practice so I was planning on buying the N97 or N900? But I heard Nokia has had problems withe the lennex operating system. I was told to hold off that Nokia has a totally new phone that will be introduced mid summer 2010 with a new operating system that will put Nokia back on top over iphone ect ect.
I must buy a new phone and I wanted to take a N900, but after I read this topic with all the problems, I am affraid that N900 is too buggy for me. I need a phone with a good battery (I am traveling a lot of time), I need connectivity, but also multimedia (video and music), but must of all I need a very good organizer. I can not afford a phone with so much problems and I don't have time to debug it!
So, I have to choose from these models: N900, N97, N97 mini, E72, BB 9700 Bold and IP 3GS. I know that you are not fans of BB and IP, but because I am a lot in the airplane, I need the multimedia and entertainment from 3GS and the office from BB.
i just bought an n900 and waiting for it to be delivered, it's second hand and i gather that some n900s don't accept all 3 sims but there was an update for it so now it does, is that right? if mine isn't accepted how do i update it given that it doesn't work with ovi or pc suite?
CPW is offering clearance nokia n900's on their webpage for £265.00. ie: 14 day returned handsets. Anyone bought one this way and happy with the condition of it. Im really tempted. I know their are alot of threads/posts on the pro's and con's of this fone/tablet. My question is if you could do a rewind would you still buy this handset ?
I just got an n900 and very disappointed .I can't download music to it via the PC suite I have downloaded some small apps and themes to my PC that I can't install through the application installer- it says that there is no memory left to install a tiny app when i have 20+GB available
Im used to my N95 doing it no problemthe whole phone seems unfinished - a half assed job and im reading posts from people with the same issues saying "nokia is going to bring out a PC suite for the n900 that will work" and "OVI will be working soon" that date back to February
I also fully charged it overnight its been on for 4 hours and the battery is nearly flat and I have only plugged in the mini USB thingo 3 times and the input socket is really loose. No EQ on the music player?? and no ability to edit the track names/artists in the menu. The N95 not only had EQ but stereo widening and other cool features - What a step down.i can't believe it - it almost 100% useless
I have all my contacts in Nokia x6. I also did sync with OVI site. I would like to get the contacts either from the x6 or from OVI site into my phone N900. How can I get them? I did use phone switch application from N95 to x6. Don't know how to do for N900.
