Samsung Galaxy S II :: Battery Run Time And Charging Time?
Mar 11, 2012I have been using my samsung galaxy pretty heavily being as i just got it a week ago. I have noticed with heavy use it does not last me a whole day. Yesterday i let the battery drain all the way out so that i could completely cycle through. It ended up takeing a little over 3 hours to fully charge again. Was curious how many hrs of usage other people are averageing and how many hrs of charge time?

Sep 30, 2011I tried observing my phone during charge... It takes about 1hour and 15-30Min depending on the percentage left between 0-15%... But what I notice when It reaches 100% before I unplug, I dial *#*#4636#*#* and check the battery information and it says 4172mV. When I unplug it, it shows 4140-4152 mV sometimes, My sister has Cherry mobile orbit with almost same battery capacity and can reach 4300mV at plug and unplug with 4200mV and takes about 2hours.... Is that normal for X8/W8? and is the battery charging time normal?

I can charge my phone up literally all day - maybe 9-10 hours of charging, then unplug it and go to bed, and by the morning it will be down to about 3 bars of 'charge' or something.Eventually after a couple of hours it will give up and turn off and I have to charge it again.And this is with me not even using it.So what's going on? May 7, 2012trying to get the damn thing to charge, plug, unplug, check its still charging, its stopped,repeat process, never fully charges. Got a new charger for it, had ONE full charge then had the same problems. Hard reset the other day and is now worse than ever. Last night it was charging for ages, came back to find it at 0% even though it was still merrily flashing to say it was charging, clearly it is not. Left over night to find it had died altogether, cue the usual hours and hours of trying everything to get it to come back on,heating, soft reset, hard reset, unplugging, trying various places to plug in, all usb ports etc blah to then get stuck in the infinite reboot cycle.A zillion hard resets later it finally comes on, leave it to charge a little before going through the set up, there was a small amount of charge, come back to do set up and its gone back down to 0% of its own accord.

Nov 19, 2012I have the Lumia 820 with the Navigon navigation app installed. I went on a trip this past weekend and noticed a strange battery drain while driving to my destination. The drive was a little over 2 hours and I was charging the phone the whole time. I figured I would test it on the drive home. I charged the phone completely before starting the drive home. I was camping so I had to use the lighter jack in the car which is always on and charged the phone from less then 10% to 100% overnight. Again the drive was a little over 2 hours, had the Navigon app open and running the whole time and the phone was plugged into the lighter and the charging icon was registering a charge the whole time. The only other thing running was cellular data. NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi, Nokia Drive, all off. When I arrived home the phone was at 45% and was very hot.
I upgraded from the Samsung Focus and using the Navigon app in the same car never ever had less power when I I ended a trip to when I started a trip. I use the Navigon app all time so this is a real issue. I am also going to post this on the Navigon website.

Jun 28, 2010I recently bought a Nokia 6700 slide and it comes in a package with a BL-4CT battery 860 mAh, 3.7 V and 3.2 Wh. How the battery performance is poor ( keep about two days), I thought to replace it with a BL-5CT battery 1050 mAh, 3.7 V and 3.9 Wh, or BL-5J battery 1320 mAh. Or even a BP-4L battery 1500 mAh ( that do not know if it fits ).Can I improve in this way life time during the talk and standby?

Mar 15, 2010I'm about to loose hope on my Nokia 5230. The first was the battery problem. It was empty in a day and a half on very moderate use (swiched off during the night). When I recalibrated the battery the things got better but still far away from the specs on Nokia site. And yes; I have tried all the tricks to save the energy (GSM only, 30% screen brightness, no bluetooth,....).
The second I discovered, that the GPS is basicly useless. It wont lock on the sattelites no matter what.The GPS was one of the main reasons to buy 5230. If someone got lucky to find some sattelites - how good is the accuracy? Is in the range of 6 meters or less as with Garmin?
Now I have discovered, that the clock is not showing the right time. It is loosing minutes as someone said to it that one hour has only 59 or 58 minutes. I still have to discover the logic how the clock is counting minutes. I have tried with and without automatic time update. By the way; the phone has the last firmware.
So if the clock is useless then the alarm is useless and I can't use it on my buisness trips.
Is there anyone else with the same problems? Is there any solution to this clock problem? Some settings I've missed?
Someone would say; for the price everything can not be perfect.
So, is this the logic (Nokia logic):
-we will put in the GPS, but because of a low price it won't find some sattelites
-we will put the battery in the phone but because of the low price it won't last more than two days
-the phone will have the clock but because of the low price it will not show the right time

I only past from 133MB to 131MB so the memory loss won t even be noticed compared to back in the days with the 9000.So my question is do we still need these apps like quick pull etc which i installed to my old 9000.How often should we do a pull every week? Jun 6, 2010I just bought a N97 mini and it seems that when it is in power saver mode, the battery went from 4 bars to 0? I was shocked that I couldn't even turn it on in the morning. It's a real bummer when I have to leave the house and I realise my phone died overnight. Is this normal? Is there any way to save energy when I leave the phone in that mode at night? I'm very sure I have turned off all Wifi and Wlan and Bluetooth settings. Also, I believe my wall charger is faulty. There is no white light when plugged in. (Another bummer, when I returned home and realise my phone has not been charging the whole time I was out.) However, when I use the usb on my computer it works just fine.

Apr 26, 2010My 5800 used to retain battery power for 3-4 days of normal usage until my upgrade to the latest firmware. Firstly the FOTA failed. After restart it popped a "System Error" after"installing..." The Music Player also screwed and used to continously show "Fixing Corrupted Library files..(something like that)". Then i used OVI suite to transfer music and it temporarily fixed the issue. But then i used the USB connection with Nokia Software Updater and reinstalled the firmware. all the problems were fixed. But i observed that the Battery life has now reduced to just about 18 hours!! I am not sure if its indeed the firmware but most likely so. I also did a soft reset without realising that i would lose all the smses and contact data Anway, main issue is batterypower consumption. The Nokia Energy Profiler shows a current consumption of about 170mA. It was same even before the soft reset.

Mar 24, 2012I have already read enough of this great forum post, I hope in the future to helpbeginners like me, one day we had to IOS (formerly had a Galaxy S2) and now we are more than comfortable with my 4s!I have the cell phone constantly charging, either in the Dock, when I go to bed, Through The cable in my university (when I'm in class or on the computer in the Library), this because the phone if consuming battery (I have the iOS 5.0.1) and hate running out of battery (no phone) when I'm away from home.Then the doubt (I've already searched in many forums) is whether this is detrimental tothe battery of the phone, or simply when the iPhone detects that is loaded, just stops receiving load and nothing happens:
