I have a Nokia 6300 with firmware v5.5 and recently it has just taken on a life of its own, turning itself on and off and pressing random buttons by itself, turning itself on to silent and generally being crazy. Is there anything I can do about this, I dont want to get a new phone, I really like this one.
my 6300 ran out of battery just as the alarm came on.and as u know the 6300 has a very small phone memory..so each time i switch it on it ask's me for my security code and even though i type in the correct code it just hangs and restarts automatically..is there any way of formating the phone without putting it on??
I have a 6300 and when I lock the keypad - pressing joystick then * It locks ok but if it remains locked for a while unlocking it takes a few attempts. It's as if the joystick button needs to be pressed a few times. It is on power saver and sleep mode and when I hit the joystick button there is a darkened screen and I can make out the instruction to hit * but hitting * doesn't unlock it.I then have to hit the joystick button a few times till a brightly lit up screen appears before I can hit * and unlock it.
I have 64bit Windows 7 and I cant make a connection with my nokia 6300. Although all your drivers for cables are for XP and Vista, I installed them, and my phone still doesnt appear.Cant find a phone atc.I dont know what to do, I cant use my phone for listening my music.
Problem: The National rail website lets me look at the arrival times for trains at a specific station. Let's say "Hornsey". A friend can bookmark this page on his phone and call it "Hornsey". He can do the same for the page for "Kings Cross". Now he has a number of pages, one for each of the stations he commonly uses and all named after the station - great.
But my 6300 doesn't seem to allow this. All my bookmarks are named after the WAP page title - "Departures". Yes, I have multiple pages all heolpfully bookmarked as "Departures". So how can I save pages using sensible bookmark names and rename the ones I already have with useless names?
I have a 6300 import that I brought home from a vacation, but when I popped in my SIM car, it turned on, but there is a message were the name of the server is, said "No Service". There is service, but the most confusing part of it to me is that it is not tied to a carrier. What is wrong?
Nokia PC Suite v7 can't detect my Nokia 6300 that is already connected via USB and selected mass storage.Phone: Nokia 6300 v6.01 (RM-217)OS: Windows XP SP2

I have what I think is the voice message symbol (sort of like a cassete tape symbol) on my phone.I have no messages.Contacted vodafone aust and they also say no messages and even changed the way they alert the phone to new messages. The symbol is still there.Any way of getting rid of it, or finding out just what it means?
I have a 6300 and am able to receive texts from Africa, but when I reply to the number with a text back, it won't send. I requested a delivery receipt and I eventually got the notification that it failed, but didn't give any reason. I am based in the UK and am sending to a Guinea number. Any tips?
After synching my Outlook 2010 x64 calender items to my mobile (Nokia 6300) with Nokia Ovi suite 2.2.0.245, the detail info (notes) on my appointments are gone in outlook. Really sucks, because all connection details of web meetings and so on, are lost.
Secondly, Nokia Ovi suite has no GUI for the calendar like PC Suite did, to see the calendar details. You can sync calendar items, but there is no way to manage them like the contacts/photo's. The sync statistics do not tell what exactly had been updated. Just the object count of updates nothing more.
I have a Nokia 6300 Rm-217 and while it was connected to the pc in data mode it shut itself down i could enter in the phones memory for 20 secs or so and then it stopped working now if i try to start it the blue lights turn on blink once and they stay on until i stop pressing the power button. Please this is urgent!
i had copied my 6300's contacts to PC suite. Now, i have a 6700 and i would like to restore all those contacts to this new phone. On my pc, under "PC SUITE" directory, i still have a directory with the serial number as the name of the directory. When i start the new version of PC SUITE, i could not find my old contacts.
I just wanted to back up my address book contacts from my Nokia 6300, using Nokia PC Suite. Unfortunately, the backup process stopped before completing, backing up only 13 contacts. Then, it synchronized these 13 contacts back to my cellphone, deleting all other 400 contacts on the phone.
Do you have any idea on how i can recover those lost contacts? I have already checked the Nokia PC Suite backup file using Noki software, however it also only shows 13 contacts. Also checked the PCCSContact file in the application data folder with SQLite3 Manager. However, it doesnt show any more contacts either. Any chance I can access the contacts on the mobile phone storage card?
I'm trying to transfer all my appointments from the calendar on a 6300 to a 6303i using PC Suite. They all came across an hour later. (Contacts and messages all came across OK) So I went back and checked the 6300 - all correct. Linked the 6300 to my PC using PC Suite and viewed appointments directly - lo and behold, an appointment showing as 11:45am on the phone, shows as 12:45 on the PC screen! I presume this is something to do with daylight saving, since both phone and PC are set to GMT. The 6300 does not have a daylight saving setting, so I simply re-set the time myself, but maybe the PC Suite software automatically does it? But if so, why change the time of the appointments, surely this was only a problem if you changed timezones (e.g. to GMT +1) in the old days?Anyone out there have any suggestions as I don't want to have to re-input a year's worth of appointments!
I recently my micro memory card (512mb supplied with phone t-mobile,2 yrs ago) seems to have gremlins! When I try to move pics, video clips from images, video clips to memory card it now always says operation failed! I have loads of memory left on card, no password set. I am reluctant to format card as I have lots of clips and pics, thinking of buying new card? But do u guys think its phone problem or faulty memory card?
My nokia 6300's screen blinks white and black for 3 to 4 times then it comes back to normal. I have got it repaired 6 times in last two months from Nokia care. Every time they say that this problem is caused due to virus in memory card. They update the phone software and give to me. They tell me not to use bluetooth.
I have a 6300 ex T-Mobile which has been unlocked and is now on O2. I find that the menu option to "Divert all voice call to voice mailbox" gives an error "Request No Completed".The standard *#.code to divert works fine but I'd like to get the menu option working too. Is this because the phone still has T-Mobile details. is there a way to edit this and get it working on O2?
I am having a nokia 6300 which i am trying to update its software but its asking to select service provider but the lists are emptyi activated packet data having internet access still the lists are empty.
does anyone know how to take the 6300 phone off and on its current network? It seems to be the only solution to a problem my phone has when not being able to send or receive texts?
I recently upgraded my phone to the latest firmware and there have been many, many good features such as the revamped map system. However, there are 2 major issues, the first being that the battery life has degraded. Its so bad that I charge it and sometimes it doesnt last a day. I dont know if anyone else has this problem? But its somewhat annoying, is there something that can be done about it? Also, the phone has gotten somewhat slower as well
I want to use the 5230 as a GPS device for on the golfcourse. I have a few questions. How long does the battery last?Is the GPS receiver accurate enough to work in tree rich golf courses and in bad weather? What kind of chipset is the GPS reciever?Has anybody tried Intelligolf with the Nokia 5230?
