Despite emailing nokia directly on a number of occasions and receiveing no reponse.I tried transferring music,mp3, using onto my phone although it states it is successful the music does not appear in the gallery section of the phone.
This is my fourth nokia and to be honest my last.
I have a bog standard Samsung that was able to achieve this task.
I have just bought a nokia 5230, and i'm shocked to see that gallery doesn't show the memory card contents! Why is it so? please help... the memory card could be read in the file manager though

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am happy to report success in copying music files to my LG enV3 (VX9200)! I have now loaded 2000 music files onto a 16Gb Micro SD card and gotten the phone to properly read <title>, <artist>, <track>, <album>, and <genre> for all of these files. Unfortunately, this was only after much trial, error, pain, and suffering.Here's what I have deduced about how the enV 3 wants to see music files organized:
1. To avoid silly mistakes, do use the phone to format your Micro SD card.
2. But to save time and achieve reliable transfers, move your music onto the formatted card using a USB card reader, plugged directly into your computer. Putting the phone into USB Mass Transfer mode, or trying to use the 'Sync' routine, is slow at best and ends up in failure more times than not.
3. Music files go into the "my_music" folder on the card.
4. Within "my_music", what works well is the following directory structure: my_ music /<artist>/<album> /<track>_ <title>But you have to follow some special rules:
5. The enV 3 doesn't seem to like like spaces or special characters in directory or file names, and I think it wants only one period (the one before the .mp3 extension). Special characters include the 'usual suspects': . ^ $ | ? * + [ ] ( ) { } /
6. The enV 3 doesn't seem to like directories or file names to be longer than 32 characters
7. Finally, to have album art displayed, it wants to see the file "AlbumArt.jpg" in each <album> folder.
I may be wrong about some of the rules -- but I can report that when I followed the rules, things worked as they never had before.My guess is that other Verizon LG phones work the same way. (You'd think that Verizon or LG would document this somewhere, but NO!)
Now -- you'd better believe I wasn't going to manually edit the directories and filenames to meet the enV 3's picky requirements -- not for 2000 files!Instead, I worked with the freeware program Mp3tag (available here) and wrote an Mp3tag script (available here) to do the dirty work.
Step 1 was to 'clone' my music files by copying my entire music library -- all of the mp3 files, which had been organized by iTunes -- into a new directory which I labeled 'Music_Backup'.
Step 2 was to read this cloned library into Mp3tag.
Step 3 was to run my Mp3tag script, which parsed/renamed/moved all the music files under a new directory on my computer (called 'Ready-For-LG-Phone')
Step 4 was to copy this new directory structure onto the Micro SD card
From there I popped the card into the phone, and at long last it has become a usable music player.(The one thing I haven't figured out is how to get playlists into the phone.)To use this process, you're going to have to get familiar with Mp3tag, or come up with a way using the tagger of your choice to meet the requirements I've listed above.But I can tell you that there's light at the end of the tunnel. After updating firmware with V50.0.001 version, I tried a lot to update music player with new tracks but I didn't get any track updated in my 'all songs'. even not in 'recently addad'.

The perfomance is better than before, but I encountered a problem that really annoying me.I love listening to music. It's everything for me. But now the music player can't detect new music files, even it's imported from a bluetooth connection. After I save it from the inbox, sometimes it said "General : System Error". The files is inside the memory card, but can't be detected by the music player although I refresh the music library. The same thing happened when I import some music files from the computer using Nokia PC Suite. In the library, there is the artist's name or the album's name, but after I clicked it, there isn't any music files inside. What happened actually with the music player?About the memory card, I got it from the phone package. It's 2 GB, and still has approx. 130 MB free. Is it the memory card or the update?

When I use ES File Explorer or File Manager those apps cannot find these pictures on the internal storage or external card but those albums and photos are visible in Gallery. The file manager apps see some albums but not all of those visible in Gallery. I have deleted the playlist but obviously my music is still there.I then tried to delete all my tracks by marking them all and then deleting but I got "general system error" message.Am trying to delete too many tracks at once, or is there a way of deleting them, or formatting my memory card to clear everything? It stated that i did not have the correct license to listen to it and that i should try to get it over air. It then leads me onto the internet where i have to enter in my Ovi store username and password, i enter in the correct details but it tells me that i need to allow cookies to access the next page, the only problem is that i have already allowed cookies, why does it not recognize this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I went to set an alarm last night for the first time since having the iphone 5c, and for some reason it showed all of my music (including music I don't have on my ipod anymore) when I went to select a song. I was messing around and clicked a few songs I hadnt heard in a while (and don't have synced to my ipod.) Now those bands and songs are showing up in my music. I've also deleted most of these bands from my Itunes completely, so it doesn't work to just uncheck them or d and sync again, they're still there. I tried swiping to delete and was able to delete one song, but the delete button doesn't show up now. I've tried turning "show all music" on and I still can't delete manually, and I'm not sure where these songs are coming from since they're deleted from Itunes.

I have a T-mobile Nokia 5230 (Nuron) and i'm having a hard time getting the music player to play while the phone is connected to PC Suite. *If not with original applications/software, is there a different music player that plays while connected to PC Suite? I do not want to hack my phone & I will just have to suffer if Ovi Suite is my only option.

The phone has only 70 something MB memory, of which 28 or such is taken up b the apps. There only 50+ plus mem left. There aren't any sounds or images preinstalled in this phone (not a single one).
Now this Voice Command thing is preventing me from listening to music. At first, whenever I switched the radio on, it asked me to activate the Voice command feature. Now when I selected it, it keeps on displying "Speak Now" every 4 seconds, interrupting the whole music. I try to speak commands like radio, but it doesn't work.Can someone guide me? I am getting frustrated by this frequent disturbance, everytime I switch on the radio.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently encountered issues with the photo gallery and the media player on my nokia n900 where all the photos, music and videos are not detected by them. If I were to browse to them via file manager, I can find what I'm looking for but if I go into "photos" in the main menu, it just displays "(no images)" (there are images on the phone) and in Media Player (main menu again) it just shows all 4 icons but shows "(no songs)" or "(no videos)" under music, video and shuffle all songs (again, there is music and videos on the phone). Internet radios still show 48 stations.
If I were to use file manager to open images, music or videos, they run normally as if their programs can detect them but they are still undetectable when gone into "photos" and "media player". Even with music, if I play it via file manager, hit back to go to the media player menu (with the 4 icons), it still shows no songs or videos, despite it playing one!Can anybody help me resolve this?Firmware version = 3.2010.02-8.203.1 (recently reflashed, issue was not occuring when I had the latest vodafone uk firmware version, forgot it's version number)Edit:Forgot to add, this happened gradually. I am using nokia 5230. The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....
