Motorola XPRT :: Text Messages Come Through All At Once On Reboot
Aug 29, 2011
About every 3 or 4 days my phone will just stop receiving text messages. I usually am not even aware of the problem until someone calls and ask why I am not responding to their messages. Once I reboot the phone all of the text will usually come thru all at once within about 10 min and the timestamp will read the time I received the message instead of the time the message was sent. I have recently installed hancentSMS and I have been testing it. I have no indication that I am currently having a problems unless I am in the middle of a conversation.
I just received this phone today and I cannot figure out how to make the phone vibrate when I receive text messages. It is on Vibrate only mode and it still does not vibrate when I receive them. If I take it off vibrate only mode it makes a sounds when I do receive them. how do I set it to vibrate when I do receive text messages?
Im getting emails and texts but I do not hear a notification sound when they come in. I have to remember to look at the device to notice an email or text has arrived. I have cycled power, selected different notification ringtones and adjusted volume. still no sound.
So I haven't had the muted phone call audio since the update, but now I get the silent ringer and silent alarm problem which power cycling does not fix.
I have recently switched to a XPRT and have been having a problem with the phone audio (speaker, earpiece and mic) that requires me to reboot the phone EVERYDAYAll other audio functions work properly. Speaker for music, notifications, phone rings...but when i try to make or receive a call, there is no audio on my end (whether on speaker, earpiece or bluetooth) and the microphone is dead as well. The only way to resolve this issue is to power cycle (reboot) the phone. THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY!
Messaging will not vibrate on ringer or vibrate. Enter messaging menu and click on vibrate: I have done a full reboot of phone, Including removing the battery, Vibrate DOES work for incoming calls. I have the most recent update software.
How to get the HTC one to stop sending old texts messages after a reboot? If my phone dies, is updated, or I need to turn it off, when I turn it back on it will send some really old texts and a lot of them. Also, Verizon claims it's an HTC problem and HTC said to call Verizon. I've tried everything from system restore to deleting entire threads. It's a bunch of crap that neither company has an answer by now.
Has anyone else had a problem with getting the same text message (from one or more sender) sent several times? On the first occurance I called Sprint and thier fix was to block the number(s) I got the text from, reset the phone then unblock the number(s) since they were sources I did want to get text messages from. That appeared to clear up the problem but again this weekend it happened again.Took the phone to the Sprint store nearby; thier fix for everything is usually do a hard reset. That was a couple of hours ago but again have started getting some of those text again.I don't know if it's a network issue with Sprint and the (re)delivery of those messages OR if it's the phone thinking it's a new message?
Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...
What are the plans for future software updates for XPRT?Is Gingerbread going to be the last one? Any chance for 4.x?Because, see, as of today XPRT is lagging behind for like a year on Android updates. It was released (June 6, 2011) with outdated FroYo (released May 20, 2010).Now, if stars align, we'll get GB 2.3.5 update (released July 25, 2011) hopefully in August '12.And that also means that phone that's been out only for a year is already 2 major Android versions behind current one.
Anyone else out there own a 700? This thing is just a disaster! I've owned Nokia phones (an no other make) for over 10 years, but this is by far my most disappointing experience. I am at wits end and near the tipping point (of purchasing an iPhone 5).Nearly 1 in 5 times I use the darned thing it crashes. Also, my icons for search items are gone (except for restaurants). I restored the phone and now it won't download any maps! I used to have complete maps for the USA, Canada and Mexico, but now it will not even download the USA.I can not download the latest firmware (version of Symbian). My phone says it is up-to-date, but it is not. I do not have a PC so I can not use Nokia Suite (why? Nokia, get real and write a Mac version already).
When I reboot my phone it will not receive voice mail or text messages! I have to reboot it again. Why is this phone so buggy? I'm sending it in for warranty repair but I don't think I want this or any Nokia software phone. I think I'll try a Nokia Windows phone if Nokia will give me some credit for this phone and allow me to apply it towards the Windows versions. I mean seriously, Apple has their bomb proof software that works. If there is a bug, give them a week and there's an easily obtained update. I'm not an Apple fanboy, but I'm being driven away. Can someone help me make this right? I'm sure whatever Nokia tech looks at my phone will say it is fine, it's the software that is uncooperative.Anyone else with a 700?
My current text messages are being combined with old text messages, creating messages that don't reflect what I sent. The recipients of my texts are very confused....as am I when I get there response.
I can't seem to get my phone to vibrate. I set to "vibrate when in silent mode", then set to silent mode, but no vibration. I have also set vibration to "alwasy" but still nothing.
Suddenly started having an issue, wonder if anyone else has seen it. Periodically, I'll be unable to enter text into an SMS. The keyboard will pop up, but nothing I type actually registers. The only way I've found to resolve the issue is to reboot, which only lasts a few hours.
Every time I reboot my phone I lose notification sound for the first incoming text message. After the first it returns as normal. It always vibrates normally. Any ideas? I checked sound settings and they are all maxed out after a reboot, but still no sound until the second text message.
As usual, went to look at phone, BSOD, green blinking light. Battery pull, reboot. Don't know why the green light was blinking, there were no new messages, on the phone after the reboot. Ok, now after the reboot I had no data connecetion at all now. Took about 10 minutes, I kept playing with the settings and the data finally came back. It was 4G full bars, go figure. Im in Las Vegas not a new fringe area. I can take any issure or bug with this phone except this one, where the phone goes dead and you never know it. I just don't understand. Their actually gonna make me take it on the chin and go buy a different phone.
I have a Motorola V8 and since two days ago I can't get or send text messages... instead of the list with "Create message, drafts, etc" I see "Please wait...?"
I have over 3000 text messages and I cannot delete them. I can delete each individual text but that will take days. When I click Delete Thread, it will delete all the words but still shows up as messages.
Recently I have been having a problem with text message that I receive from my employer being cut off. Typically the first portion of the message will be cutt off and replaced with a single number in brackets. This isn't a message size issue, and the messages are not being split, they are simply missing much of the information. I ma using a relatively new Droid X (owned it less than a month). I only have this issue when receiving messages from my employer, no other texts have been affected. My employer does not have this issue with any other employees, only me. There are a number of other employees who have other Droid models and have no problems whatsoever receiving the messages. One co-worker actually forwarded me a message that he received fine on his Droid (Eris?) but I had the problem with. I was able to receive the forwarded copy in full from him. The message server that my employer uses sends out simultaneous messages to as many as 70 people at a time, and I am the only person who has ever had this problem.
I can send text messages but can't receive any text messages (sms). Ideed, i have a message like that : "message memory full" i delete a lot of messages, i don't have any video or pictures, my memory is not full, so i don't understand why it's like that. I have this probleme for 4 days ant it becomes very annoying. delete any message cause i delete three-quarters of messages..
I accidentally deleted a text msg that I need to get back...are there any free software/utils that will let me read the raw memory card data & get the info back again? phone is a fido motorola razr v3 downloaded bitpm but it doesn't seem to recognize the phone....even though I can see it, as well as copy files back & forth on windows with a USB.
On several occasions my wife has not received my text messages. (It happens every now and then.) I see the receipt, on my phone, that it was sent to her, but she didn't receive it. Does that mean there is something wrong with my phone or her's. I use Handcent SMS app. and my wife has a Palm Pre Plus phone. Note: This happened a few times with my backflip too.
I dropped my DROID which caused the screen to go black, so I can't see the text messages that have accumulated. I've upgraded to a new RAZR, which is mostly great so far. But....how can I get the messages from the DROID to the RAZR?
I can't see any way to view text messages that I've sent. I'd really like to be able to quote from some things I've written, check spelling and also verify that the message has gone out. How do I set up Text to show this?
When i get a text or mms that i would like to forward on to some of my friends, and after getting to the To: box...there is no option or + sign to open up all the contacts. As it stands right now i have to tap each letter on the dial pad to load up the people i want to send it too..
