Motorola XPRT :: Create A New Contact From Dialed Number?
Aug 9, 2011
When on the recent calls list if I select a number that is not on my contact list and then select "create new contact" I get error message that "can not create a new contact without a valid account"
is there another way to create a new contact from a dialed number?
Is it possible to create a contact with a number that increments? each new SMS creates a new conversation thread within the Message app in iOS 5.1.1 on iPhone. Would be great to have all of the SMS messages from this one service combined into a single Messages thread. Is this possible, and if so, how?
I am facing a very frustrating problem. Sometimes when I create/edit a contact and hit save, then search for that contact in my contacts I can't find it!! Or sometimes I can find it but with all the contact information deleted.I am using Verizon Backup assitant to manage my contacts. I wonder if anyone else have the same problem. That problem is not only frustrating, but also embarassing, especially when you are entering a new friend's contact while showing off your phone
I have dialed a number 9909912345 on my iPhone, but got no response..Suddenly i realize that as its STD number, i will have to dial it with 0 before, means 09909912345 In my dialed number list there is 9909912345.Is there any way, i can edit it and insert 0 before first 9.
Every time I try to dial a new number, the last number I entered on the keypad is still there. I have to delete it manually before I can call someone else. My husband has an iPhone 3, and his keypad is always blank when he accesses it. Is there a setting for this?
We have a number of company Series 40 Nokia phones, such as thje C3, which we'd like to integrate with our company's PBX. We'd like to define a standard prefix (say 1111) which would be added to the beginning of each number dialed (be it from Contacts or a manually entered number). E.g. I choose to call "Mark" from my Contacts on the C3 whose stored cell number is 6944333333; the actual number that will be called will be 11116944333333.
I receive a mail which has a phone number, but no country code - to dial i have to save the number to contacts, then edit the number, and dial! Most dangerous while driving
I have my own contact list that I have linked with Facebook. Facebook allows users to call themselves whatever they want and unfortunately that is name that appears in my contact list instead of their proper name that I have put into contacts. For example, John Doe calls himself SuperJohn on Facebook and SuperJohn appears in my contact list, when that person calls or when I look them up to send a text message. Even after going into contacts and confirming their fname and lname is John Doe the phone insist on calling them SuperJohn. It wouldn't be so bad, but a Facebook name can be changed on a whim AND it makes voicedial impossible.
I sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?
As many of the rest of you have done, I mindlessly upgraded to OS 5.0, and am working on the new features. Here's something that puzzles me, though. Now when I dial a number from my contact list (even one in my own city and area code), my BB puts a +1 (country code for the usa) in front of the number. As I don't recall seeing this before, is this something new? Or do I have a setting wrong (which I'll discover on my bill in a few days).
How do I create a speed dial number? Meaning I press one button and the phone dials (my wife!). I can't find it in the manual and have tried looking under every setting. I thought it existed in the contacts area as an option for the contact but I don't see it there now.
Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...
What are the plans for future software updates for XPRT?Is Gingerbread going to be the last one? Any chance for 4.x?Because, see, as of today XPRT is lagging behind for like a year on Android updates. It was released (June 6, 2011) with outdated FroYo (released May 20, 2010).Now, if stars align, we'll get GB 2.3.5 update (released July 25, 2011) hopefully in August '12.And that also means that phone that's been out only for a year is already 2 major Android versions behind current one.
I can't seem to get my phone to vibrate. I set to "vibrate when in silent mode", then set to silent mode, but no vibration. I have also set vibration to "alwasy" but still nothing.
I am using E71, which firmware version is 410.21.010. I have a contact which has 2 number (mobile and Telephone) and i have set mobile as default. When i make call from the contacts applicaition it is calling to mobile without showing the number list. But if i call from the homescreen by typing the name, it is showing the number list. I also created new contacts with more than a number and tried, it's not working... And when it shows the number list in the homescreen, pressing the call end button doesn't cancel showing the number list. I have to press the cancel button to cancel the list showing...
I am really happy with my N900, but one thing is frustrating me.When I have a contact with multiple numbers saved and they are calling me or sending me sms (even worse in the latter case), I would like to be able to see from which number they are dialing to know whether they are calling from abroad, local, mobile, fixed instead of just seeing their name when they call. With the sms, I can't even know from which number they sent the sms!solution please.
I wonder if anyone can help me. I am using the nokia 5310 and even though I am using a sim card with all my names stored in it, when I get a call or a text from someone who is in my phonebook it still just shows up as a number.
Also the names are not in order in my phone book.I am using this phone in Canada, and I got it from Ireland so the time on my incoming messages is 5 hours behind. So many issues!!
I'm NOKIA C6-00 users, use it heavily on MESSAGES MANAGEMENT (SMS - GATEWAY) for communicating with customers. How can I change NUMBER-ID to CONTACT-ID after I SAVE-CONTACT the MESSAGE from that one person.( I save the MESSAGES number and given the name : Mr.David , but when i look back, the MESSAGES still shows his number not contact-id. The NEXT messages from him work normally, shown his contact-id : Mr.David )
About 1 year ago I bought a blackberry curve 8320 on ebay in germany. I now wanted to register at the BIS (at Vodafone in Germany). It tells me that the phone (PIN) is already registered at the BIS. I tried to use the "send Password" Link with my PIN Number but it didnt work out. (The website says the password is sent successfully but it does not reach my cell phone). Aftre that I asked at VOdafone Customer support and they said the phone isnt registered with Vodafone. Is there a chance to delete or edit the old account registered to my PIN Number? So that I can register and get my own BIS!
For some time I cannot create a new contact via Ovi. After clicking the "+ Create contact..." button, the righmost panel titled "(unnamed)" becomes blank. There are no fields to fill, however they appear for a very short period (< 1sec) after clicking the mentioned button. Contacts editing works fine. Reinstallation, repairing, deleting data from "App data" folder didn't help.
I'm trying to add another custom label for my iPhone contacts but it's ignoring me! I do already have a lot. Is there a limit to how many can create? Also, they're not all appearing in alphabetical order any more...
I broke the screen of my 6280 so used a different phone for a while and now that I've repaired it and put the sim card back in the phone displays the number rather than the name in the text inbox. When I try to add the number to the contact it says it's in use for the contact bla bla. The numbers get displayed in the +44 format and are saved in the domestion 07xx format but I can't overwrite it because it then recognises the number.
