Motorola Motoactv :: Coach Won't Shut Up But At Least MP3 Random Works
Jun 2, 2012
While running 7.2 software. Interesting new bug this week. When running, I decided to pick up the pace. Hooray for me, I set a personal best since last resetting the Motoactv. The coach comes on and tells me "New personal best... [and the time]." Then 15 seconds later, the coach comes on against, and tells me "New personal best... [and the time -2 seconds]." It did this about 10 more times, every 15 seconds. By the end, you would think I was setting world records it thought I was going so fast. I had to figure out how to turn off the coaching mid-workout, which was fairly difficult while running.
I am running a half-marathon tomorrow. I would have liked to use the coaching feature, but will not try it again for a while. Hopefully a hard reset and the new 7.3 software cured that bug since there was no bug fix list with the new release.
Just bought my MotoACTV and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to allow my coach to see my workouts without giving him my personal login/password.
I was riding with GPS and HRM on and working fine. The music was playing nicely and the audio coach tried to come on to announce the start of new laps. However, all that happened was the music volume dropped a bit but no lap announcement.
how to get the coach back to normal. It worked fine just the day before and the device is essentially brand new.
I love being able to "slap" the device and hear my metrics read to me. The problem is the voice over is pretty quiet compared to the music player. In order to hear it I have to turn the volume up which then makes the music uncomfortably loud (cort of like those annoying commmercials that are never at the same volume as the show you are watching).*** While the music does seem to quiet down a bit while metrics are being read, I would prefer it to auto-pause the music until after the coach is done reading the metrics. ***
I recently purchased a XFE and have been having multiple issues with apps and the browser randomly shutting down. There doesn't seem to be any reason for this. The battery is not low, I'm not doing the same thing each time, I don't have multiple tabs open (although I have heard this tablet is wonderful at multi tasking). Also at random times I will have an app open and it will pop up with a message about force closing. This has happened way to often for me to continue to tolerate this.
Did I get a bad tablet perhaps? I want to keep this tablet? The rep was at best buy when I was looking at these and convinced me it was the lastest and greatest, however other tablets do not seem to have this issue .
I happened twice for me so it is not very common situation but in result I am loosing my data. Basically when ending my workout it is converted to multisport by adding empty workout. My original is called Part 1 and new one is called Part 2. Upload fails and website claims that my workouts have no data. I can still see them in recent workouts but I am not sure is it is just a summary or data is still there. Is there any way to fix this workouts (e.g. removing empty one?).
I dowloaded about 50 songs to my 16GB Motoactv. Listening today, random music starts playing. It is in MP3 mode and is not the radio. I scrolled through the songs on the device and music that I have never owned and never downloaded to the device is on the device.
Using the same installation of MOTOCAST (latest version) on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine, the MOTOCAST USB / Motorola Media Link software works perfectly w/ my ATT Atrix. However, if I attempt to connect my MOTOACTV watch, the app crashes when it is "preparing the device" w/ a "MML stopped working" message.
My phone was left idle switched on and when I came to check it the screen wouldn't turn on... So I held the power button and it switched on but I never switched it off In the first place... I have attached a screen shot of the battery use which shows when it was turned off. Â
Information about my device:Blackberry Bold 9780Platform: 6.6.0.241App Version: 6.0.0.666Carrier: Rogers CommunicationsSome of you might call this "randomly shut off" but its not! the device is still running...The issue is that at a random time blackberry keys will stop working eg. All buttons on the device including lock/unlock key while this is happend the blackberry screen is in sleep mode or whatever you call it when device isn't in use but ppl think it shut off automatically. During this time you can receive calls, bbm, nd text and all that you just won't be able to answer the call, reply to bbm, and so on... P.s screen turns on if u receive a call obviously. The only fix for this is to pull out the battery so it reboots fully this is only temporary may happen again. All you other people are just giving RIM false information like "blackberry just auto shut off" without even bothering to look into it your first goto place are these forums..
I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1. Today I left the house at 8:30 am with 100% battery. I had a breakfast meeting and put my phone on the table while we ate and did not use it. By 10:00 my battery was down to 3%. On other occasions, the phone shuts itself down while there's still 30% power, and I have to plug the phone into a charger to get it to restart. When it restarts, it shows >30% battery. I've been struggling with both issues for months (as have numerous friends with iPhone 4, 5 and 5s). I do not believe it is a hardware issue, but rather, an issue with iOS 7, which is when the problems began for me. My old iPhone 4 running iOS 6 would go an entire day of heavy use on a single charge (and usually had juice to spare). There is a serious power management problem with iOS 7 and I'm deeply disappointed that Apple hasn't addressed it. Â
You can conserve battery life by switching off cellular data, closing apps every time you finish using them, and other tricks mentioned by users here, but then the phone doesn't function as advertised and is no longer a smart phone. It is unreliable and essentially useless as a business device. iPhone is advertised has having 10 hours talk time and 10 hours cellular data. It doesn't even come close. I encourage everyone to contact Apple directly to address this problem. Something tells me Steve Jobs never would have let this happen.Â
So, I had my N5 since 2013 and the battery as the updates went around was up and down until Marshmallow came out, it was amazing. Great speed , battery and everything, but i broke my own rule and updated to 6.0.1 as soon as i was able to. Well since then the battery isn't so good, and whenever I use heavy apps (primarily when i try to multitask between them) the phone will black out and will turn back on with a chunk of battery missing or it used to be dead. Again this only started with new update so I cant totally point at the battery being old as the problem, but as a new bug with update. I cleared cache and reset it. I tried to downgrade it but kept saying there was missing images and such.
I've been having random shutdowns lately. And i just got a warranty exchange same thing happens. I have the t-mobile version. i do have the latest version of 5.1.1 ....
The "Activity" column on the topic list shows some random date. For example, the entry for "Where are the MOTOROLA SF700 headphones" shows the most recent activity as being 16 January, but mtwizard posted at 12.26 this morning.
Ever since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
Everything works ok except the built in camera !It is a very strange and unusual behavior , it is not broken but it works at totally random times !i tried everything i could but i did not succeed in finding a right pattern that makes it working all the time.I just have to turn the phone on and off all the time and HOPE that it will work.
It was like this since the beginning but i tought that a new OS update would have fix this problem , unfortunately after the latest OS updates (just done it last week) nothing has changed , The camera just works when it wants to at random times !it has 2 way of acting either i see the red circle on top for few sec and nothing happen
but the camera is active in the task manager .. but i cant kill it (the exit camera has no effect at all !) or it just works straight away ! very werid !What do u suggest that i should do ? Do i have a defective unit ?in fact when it works is ok so it is not the CCD Camera for sure but is more like an OS problem to me.i have also reset the mobile many times to the default settings
I was on instagram and it froze I hit the power button to put it to "sleep" and I tried to open it back up and its been stuck at a dark screen. I tried holding the power button in order to reset and nothing happens.. When I press the home button siri turns on but I can't get anywhere with that either.
I've just downloaded the health coach app, Alellen Carr stop smoking, when I get to the create a profile ,put my name in, it shuts down, Ive re-loaded it, switched my phone off/on.
I've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.
Let the developers know what new innovations you would like to see in Motoactive. Let them know what Apps, websites, hardware features that are out there that you love and would like to see incorporated into Motoactv.
My phone is constantly putting o's into every word, and often just straight up barely types. It also is continuously calling numbers even after I've deleted them from my phone.
I called Bell and they had me wipe my phone and that didn't do anything, so I upgraded the software which also did nothing.
My phone has been acting up since installing the latest iOS 7.1.1. The back lighting for the screen works intermittetly. I have been able to get it to come back on by turning the phone off and back on, but not every time. Once I enabled VoiceOver through Siri and turned ScreenCurtain On and Off. Other times, just clicking the home button and a few times on a notification that would turn the back lighting on. The phone seems to want to respond to turning the back lighting on, but does not do it every time it should. It usually takes 10 - 30 minutes of me working with it to get it to come back on. The phone has not been dropped and is in an Otterbox case.
My flipside as i was loading a webpage just went black(while plugged into computer for charging). i hit the power button and nothing happended. So tried plugging into wall outlet and the green light will flicker a few times but will not charge. If i pull the plug out just a slight bit i can keep the green light but phone still does not charge. I have had previous problems of phone randomly discharging with 30 percent battery left. glitch? but the fact that the phone will not even power to charging screen indicates somethign must be wrong. I tried a friends charger of the same phone without any luck. Battery has not indicated any signs of wearing out. It would last as long as the first day i bought the thing. Anyone else had similar problems?
I got the Atrix 4g in Sept, It was a toss up between that or an Iphone 4. My 3GS was dying and I was due for an update. I went with the Atrix.
It was a great phone, until it was run over at a construction site. I had insurance and the next day I got a replacement, a refurb. The phone would shut down, or lock up I'm not sure what it was. I would have the phone in my shirt pocket and after a while I would feel it warming up, a lot. I would hit the "on" button and nothing. I would wait and nothing happened. It finally got to the point the only way the phone would start was take the battery out and put it back in. With an Otterbox this was getting to be an issue. This is my third replacement and it's doing the same thing.
I am using the 200MB per month T-Mobile plan. I have used the Motorola DEFY for about four months now and haven't had a problem with it randomly using massive amounts of data at once. My bill recycles every 27th of the month, and a couple days ago, my phone used up 100 MB of data in one day. According to the phone usage app, the phone was continously using data during the hours I was asleep (even though the WiFi is ON). This has never happened before, and I am almost at my 200 MB limit because the phone keeps using data. At this rate I will hit 200MB probably this week, waaay before the 27th and I don't want to be charged for the extra data that I didn't even use. I tried going to Settings --> Data Manager --> Data --> and Background Data and Data Roaming were UNCHECKED. But whenever I go to #932#, my data usage keeps creeping up and up.
I find that sometimes when I go to wake my phone, it is totally off and will not wake at all. Also, it sometimes still has the LED flashing but attempts to wake it by pressing the menu button or on/off switch don't work at all and the only resolution is to do a battery pull.Anyone else having these issues?I am also very disappinted with the speaker volume. I had an original Motorola Droid and that speaker was loud and powerful. This speaker is pitiful. There's no use using it as an alarm clock. The vibrate doesn't work half the time either.
I downloaded the new Gingerbread update yesterday and now the Atrix in USB mode (connected to my PC) upon power off will start right back up. This does not happen with my car charger where its charging but in off mode.
