I it possible to make a third party music (mixzing) the default music player on my motorola electrify. If not does anyone know if is possible for the music button on the navigation dock to start the second music player
View 1 RepliesI just bought this device, love it so far. When I use a Google Voice command like, "play Madonna", it defaults to Sound Picker and doesn't play any songs. I noticed Music app is not even listed as a choice. See pic.
Is there a way to have the stock Music app as one of the choices instead of Sound Picker?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy music player only works some of the time and other times it gives me an error message. Also when I set ringtones from any music on my phone(ones I bluetoothed, ones downloaded from apps on the market, and also ones I copy and pasted from my computer) they will only work sometimes. Other times they seem to reset themselves and go back to a default ringtones or say unknown ringtone and will not work at all. The only ringtones that work all the time are the ringtones that came on the phone. My friend is having the same problem and the tech at US Cellular said he has had couple people come in with the same problem but they can't seem to find a solution. Also when the ringtones/music player is not working the videos in the "Help Center" on my phone will not work either. There seems to be some kind of glitch. I just want to be sure that there isn't some kind of setting wrong or something before I take this phone back and get something else because I would love to keep this phone, but it's not looking very promising.

I sometimes like to just randomize it all but I DONT like to listen to ringtones mixed in with all the music. So isn't there some way to make the music player ignore either those files, or specific folders?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I connect my Atrix 2 to my car stereo via bluetooth, DoubleTwist comes up and immediately starts playing the last album I happened to be playing on it. I have several music players installed, and would like to configure the phone so another is the default. Any way to do this? I've tried browsing to a music file and pressing it to bring up the "Complete action using..." dialog, but the app I want to use (PowerAMP) is not listed among the choices. Am I out of luck on this, or just restricted to those apps that show in the popup?

I can create my own playlist, but it looks like I have to add songs one by one to the playlist, which is a huge pain.If I use "all songs", then some of the garbage ringtones and mp3s that came with the phone also get included.

And my question is ... is there a way to set Google Music as default player that accepts bluetooth commands?My typical use case - when I try to play music using bluetooth system in my car, I have to manually open Google Music from the phohe, otherwise standard Motorola Music app would take over and play. And since there is no way to uninstall it, I have to stop motorola music app, switch to google music and manually start music there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnd set it up so that when I plug in my headphones and hit play on the remote, the music starts playing. On my S3, it was really easy. I just installed the app, and when asked if I wanted to set it as my default music player, I just said yes, and presto! Poweramp all day every day. I'd plug in my headphones and it was good to go. But on my S5, there doesn't seem to be any way to set a default music player. If I go into my application manager and go to Poweramp, under "Launch by default", It says "No defaults set", but there is no way to press the "Clear defaults" button because it isn't highlighted. It's just faded.
This is the case for Google Play Music, and the default S5 music player app as well. When I go to "Default applications" in the settings, under "Set Defaults", there are only 2 options: "Home" (TouchWiz Home), and "Messages", but there doesn't appear to be any way from here to set any new default apps such as my music player of choice. The worst part is, maybe 4 out of 10 times, when I plug in my headphones and click the play button on the remote, Poweramp will start and a song will start to play, but the other 6 times, I'll click play and nothing will happen and I have to unlock my phone and manually press play on the Poweramp widget on one of my home screens. I just want to plug in my headphones and have it work consistently every time like it did on my S3.
When I go to the music player and select a song to play, I get a message that tells me to plug in my headphones. The issue is that my headphones are plugged in. I didn't have this issue a week ago. I was listening to my music just fine. I have rebooted the device several times already. The weird thing is that I can hear the boot up sounds through my headphones, as well as notifications. I just can't play music. I have the same issue with the FM radio.

Have installed QuasarMx on my Anna E6 and would like to have as my default music player but when I go to settings|application settings|default applications and try and change the default for playing music only the Nokia Music player is listed.

Every time I select my phone as the Music source in the BMW Nav, the phone chooses the last used music source. So, if I've rebooted the phone and haven't used any media players on phone, it opens the Samsung built in music player and plays the demo song that came with the S6.
If I last opened Spotify, the next time I select my phone Spotify auto plays. Same with Pandora.
Any way to select a default and work around this "last used" setting?

The Zune music player on my Windows Phone has this functionality.
Given that if you go anywhere near it, it jumps towards the start of the track. However, if you disable it, then you can't focus the camera. Any workarounds?And while we're on the topic of the Music Player, I find it pretty bad that you can't exit out of the application and then have it pick up playing where you left off. I don't mean let it keep going in the background - I mean actually leave the Music Player. This seems like pretty basic functionality. Makes listening to podcasts on the phone very tedious. Am I missing something? Is there a way to pick up where you left off?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this has been posted like a hundred times or more and I've followed all the threads around this but if anyone has a new suggestion that would be REALLY apreciated .Have a C-5 with latest firmware. Has around 365 songs in it now but when i add new ones it doesn't see them.Have tried refresh, trashed the databases etc. Reformated the card and loaded them back bit by bit and that worked and then added 9 new ones - that worked. Played it this morning for a few hours and tried to ad some more. Doesn't see them in the refresh. Card is a Sandisk 4gb - should be good - no bad sectors etc

View 3 Replies View Relatedso I have a GB 2.3.4 Atrix 4G, and usually, it plays my music and takes pictures fine. But every so often (it seems everyday), I wind up rebooting after, when trying to player music, it says "sorry, this type of file is not supported," even tho I've been playing them all the time. Also, when this happens, the camera and camcorder also happen to stop working, saying "com.camera.android (or blur)" unexpectedly closed. All my songs are MP3 or MPEG4, and usually all play.
Why is this happening on an update? What can be done to prevent it? Are there apps I need to keep off the "auto-end list?" Does rooting a phone bring this on (via pre-install method)? Or is this a common glitch? I have also complained about the way the music player doesn't have an "all songs" option for the player. Personally, I think a blur 5.0 needs to come out already.
Had my eletrify for two weeks and everything was working great. Synced the Music Player with my iTunes thru MML and was all working fine. Yesterday I was playing music thru the library etc. No problems. Today - When I go to "Music" - it errors out and says "Sorry! Application Music (in process com.motorola.music) is not responding. I have tried rebooting, closing the app, re-syncing to iTunes with MML, etc. But no luck. I can go directly to my SD Card file and play a particular song and the music player works. However I no longer have a library or the ability to use playlists etc.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded the firmware from v31.0.101 to v50.0.005 and I had the unpleasent surprise to find that the music player is no longer working. It plays only the files stored in the phone memory and is unable to update the library. It shows music files on the memory card that were deleted longtime ago and refresh library does not change anything: always shows refresh complete 0 files added. When I connect the phone to the PC, the Ovi Player doesn't see the phone and even the device manager shows that there is a problem with the portable device (conneced in PC Suite or Media Transfer modes). Done even a hard reset but nothing has changed except that it has lost the applications it had in the phone memory.
