Motorola Droid X :: Cannot Attach A File On It To An Outbound Email
Jun 8, 2011
I have tried all combinations I can think of but cannot attach a file on the Droid to an outbound e-mail.
I start to compose, put in the address, move to the body, hit the menu button, select attach file, select a file..... and then I get dumped back out at the inbox and when I open the draft, there is the original e-mail address and a new one too. but no attachment.

I have got myself the new bold 9900 and I really like it. However, I am not able to attach FIles and Videos while sending emails; I only get 2 options when I press the attach button while I am compising emails which are pictures and contacts. I also have a friend of mine who gets the attach file option on his emails.
I have tried everything, from rebooting the device, to wiping out the memory, to uninstalling the software completely but my problem remained.
I do get a long list of options while I am sending a text or BBM message.

I've tried to connect an external microphone so I can use my Droid 4 to record high quality video podcasts, but the video apps don't appear to allow input from anything other than the internal microphone. Even a bluetooth microphone. Other droids allow allow high quality microphones. The microphone adapters that work on the Samsung Droid Charge (and the iphone) don't work on Droid 4. It appears to have a different microphone wiring configuration.

Using the stock File Manager app I can see audio files on my Maxx HD's internal storage and also on the SD card. I happen to be looking at ringtone files. If I tap on the filename to play the ringtone, Amazon Cloudplayer pops up and shows all the music files on my SD card. No ringtones can be found. If I back out of Amazon Cloudplayer and use the file manager to try finding and playing ANY audio file on EITHER my SD card or the internal storage I get sent to Amazon Cloudplayer. I then have to use the back button to get back to the file manager icon in the App drawer. Same thing happens if I try to play audio files on my SD card. Amazon Cloud Player pops up. I don't want to use Amazon Cloud Player to play an audio file in SD storage.
If I connect my phone to my PC and navigate to the ringtones on internal storage and click on them they play as per usual (Windows media player). If I use my PC to play audio files on the SD card they play as usual. Why does my phone default to Amazon Cloud Player when I tap on an audio file in File Manager? What is the stock audio file player on the Maxx HD? Why can't I browse to an audio file with the file manager and tap on it and have it play? How do I fix this?

No great rhyme or reason - very once and a while I cannot combine the outbound with the inbound in text messaging application. An irritation in trying to follow thread conversation. Noworkaround confirmed. Restart doesn't always correct andsometimes corrects itself during idle time.

Have configured three email accounts on my curve 3g and have been receiving emails and can also send emails from all of them. Can also view attachments such as pdf, xls and doc. The only problem I have is that I cannot attach pdf, xls, or doc files present on my device or media card to any emails. When I go to the attach option in email, only Picture and Contact pop up. Called up service provider (Ideacellular, India) and they told me Blackberry needs to send me attachment services. Called up redington, blackberry support partner in India. After 4 unsuccessful attempts got hold of the supervisor, who told me that " Files cannot be attached to emails on a blackberry". Prevented myself from fainting and told him to check again. He did check again, told me the same thing and has arranged a callback from Blackberry on tuesday. Researched on the internet, found out about blackberry attachment service. Cannot find it on my device. Connected to desktop manager/Applications/ cannot be seen there too! Have downloaded the OS 6 and installed on my comp.

Been a blackberry 10 user for a long time - considering the new lumia 950. One of the key features I'm looking for is the ability to attach multiple files from cloud storage like google/sky drive, drop box etc.
With bb10, while composing an email i can click attach files it takes me to BB10 file manger which has all my drives integrated - I can choose files from dropbox or skydrive and attach it to an email while replying to an email (remember. I don't have to start with the file manager app to attach files)

If you are presented with the dialog box to always do something with a particular file, but later change your mind and want to us another program or something, where do you go about chaging file associations? I haven't needed to do this yet, but have checked some of those boxes and always wonder what if I change my mind.
