Motorola Droid :: Show/Hide Contacts Groups Display?
Aug 25, 2011I have taken my gmail contacts and sorted them into groups. For example Friends and Friends 2, where Friends are people I call all the time and Friends 2 are those I call once a year. On my D2G under Contacts>menu>Show/hide. It says "check the groups to hide." If I check Friends 2, should this not now hide all the contacts in the Friends 2 group?
In Contacts Menu there is also a "Show Group", and this has the options Create new Group, All contacts, favorites, Google, and Phone contacts. This is confusing to me. If I choose "Google" which I assume is all my Gmail contacts, shouldn't the Show/hide apply to those groups? This is not the case. I have checked and unchecked several groups to hide and they still display. I have also verified that the contacts are only in the groups that are checked. So they should be hidden.
I want be able to hide certain groups in contacts and only show them when I need them. I'm not getting this right. I have synced since organizing the the the Gmail contacts.

a) undelete the contact or
b) readd all of the peripheral contact info (facebook, skype...)

Jan 25, 2012I am facing a very frustrating problem. Sometimes when I create/edit a contact and hit save, then search for that contact in my contacts I can't find it!! Or sometimes I can find it but with all the contact information deleted.I am using Verizon Backup assitant to manage my contacts. I wonder if anyone else have the same problem. That problem is not only frustrating, but also embarassing, especially when you are entering a new friend's contact while showing off your phone

May 9, 2012The first time I used my Droid Razr with the Verizon Car Dock and got a text message it popped up the option to listen, and read me my message. The 2nd time (same day) I hit cancel after I heard the message and since then it will not pop up and read me the message anymore. The only topics I can find on this are how to turn this feature off, I like this feature and want to know how to turn it back ON.

Aug 7, 2012Since the last automatic Droid Razr update a few weeks ago it is very complicated to mark all unread emails as read! It was easy to do before but after this update it seems not to work! If go to my main email account I can sort the email by date, unread, or other options. I select by unread. I then press the menu key and select "select all". Then some iconw appear in the bottom: a trash, a mail, and a flag. I select the mail one and it opens up and the word "mark read" appears but the messages don't clear as read. It used to work without issues before the update.

Motorola Droid Razr :: ICS--new Widgets Don't Show Unless Reboot?
Jul 9, 2012I've noticed that after the ICS update, newly downloaded and installed widgets from Google Play don't show up in the Widgets list until I reboot. Not a critical bug, but annoying nonetheless. I have noticed this on my Acer A500 and A100 tablets on ICS as well, so I assume it's an OS problem, not hardware-specific. Wondering if anyone has found a workaround, and would also like Moto to be aware of this so that it can be corrected in the (hopefully) next update.

May 26, 2011I only recently got my first Android phone, a Motorola Droid 2 and I absolutely love it (though the extended battery is a must-have and probably should just come bundled with the device!) but since I got it, I've been having a very curious issue. Occasionally, when I receive a text message, it displays the sender's correct phone number but the name displayed is that of a different contact. Even when I'm having a back-and-forth text conversation, one of the incoming texts will suddenly appear with someone else's name.

Feb 10, 2012Similar to a previous question, one day after purchasing the Razr I played a song with the included My Music player via MotoCast and enjoyed the lyrics display. Immediatly after playing the song I played it again and could not get the lyrics to reappear. No setting changes on the Razr, tried everything suggested in the forums including other songs, pressing on the song window, etc. Live music information setting shows green check mark next to "Song Lyrics."

Jan 27, 2013I needed to show the date stamp on some pics I shot on my RMHD running JB. I know the date info is included in the EXIF metadata I was surprised that I could not find a way to enable this to show this on the actual pic. I checked the Play Store and found nothing.
Since I had already downloaded my pics onto my Win 7 laptop, I figured some Win app would allow the date to be displayed on the pics. Wrong! Finally after googling, I found a Win app that would add the date stamp to my pics.
Presuming this feature does not currently exist on JB or the Gallery app, I think having the ability to optionally add the date stamp to pics would be useful. The option needs to be user selectable so that pics can be shown without the date stamp or with the date stamp.
I have attached a pic without the date stamp and with the date stamp (using the Win 7 app to overlay the date).

Jul 22, 2012Woke up this .morning and had 4 text messages but no notification in my status bar but just y.esterday it was working fine I could get text notification. I did everything reboot my phone cleared cache from recovery and nothing seems to work I checked my messaging settings and its checked for vibrate when receiving notifications but it don't vibrate or nothing. Jun 8, 2012I have over 3000 contacts. When entering a name in the search field, the Razr only seems to search for the FIRST word in a contact field. Because I have so many contacts, I input key words in contact fields. Either in first name, last name or company. I may have the persons name in the last & first name fields and in the company field I may input their company name and or simply input several key words to remember them by... such as where I met them, how I remember them, etc. Now, my iphone will search for ANY of these words in the contacts fields, however my new Razr seems to only pick up the FIRST WORD in each field. With as many contacts as I have, I cannot depend on searching this way! COME ON!?, Really? Am I doing something wrong?

Oct 30, 2012How often the "My Gallery" updates does it? I mean I guess I'm noticing that after friends' have published their photos on facebook its almost taking 2hrs before "My Gallery" shows up. Some of my friends update takes almost half a day to show up and other friends show up pretty immediately....so very random. And believe me I've reformatted the Cell Phone and removed my Facebook acct and cleared app data/cache and sometimes it works but not all the time.
How can I remove just the "email account on My Gallery". After a reformat occurs you can set up your Facebook Account "Gallery" to syncronize to, of course, your cell phone within My Gallery. You can add/remove Facebook all you want but it seems the "My Gallery" option is greyed out; once you activate it I cannot find a way to dis engage it.

I think the problem has something to do with Verizon Backup Assistant +. If I go in manually for the contact and put the contact photo in, then I can see them in Handcent SMS. Jun 18, 2012I just bought a Droid Razr Maxx yesterday. My previous phone was also a motorola Droid. On my old phone, when I checked my email messages on the phone, the messages remained "unread" on the server, so that when I got to work, I would know that those messages had not been dealt with. Only the messages I read or responded to on my phone showed up as "read" on the server. On the Razr Maxx, the minute the emails download to the phone, they show up as "read" on my computer, even if I never opened them on the phone.The old phone had some kind of setting that gave me the option to leave messages unread on the server, but I can find no such setting on the Razr Maxx and live tech support said it did not exist either. I use Verizon and the email is set up on a POP 3 account?
