Anyone else experience the shortcuts to apps that are on the SD card not reappearing on the home screen(s) after disconnecting from USB? Or does anyone have any solutions? I seem to remember them coming back most of the time (they would just have placeholders) before the Android 2.3. update.

Periodically disappear from the screen of application shortcuts. Usually, they disappear from the second to the center of the screen, with the top line.

I am returned to the home screen but now the shortcut I had for my email account inbox is gone, replaced by a shortcut to the music store. Is there a way to delete, change or deactivate the "web" short cut on the bottom right of the Elm home screen, as activated by the top right hand button i.e. the same button used to "lock" the key pad and to go "back" from most functions. I am constantly starting the web process which is really frustrating & time consuming. Also costs me 50p if don't realize & it goes on from Vodafone homepage. Took phone to shop & their suggestion was to deactivate web by changing internet & WAP settings to 'pay as you go'. This is unhelpful as means can't send picture messages which I regularly do (camera one of reasons for buying Elm!).

The symptoms are random disconnects from WLAN and, after doing a soft reset, unable to put shortcuts on the home screen (using the Shortcuts theme). I really think the problem is with the memory card because I can't turn the phone on with the card inside.
Is there a way to scan/repair problems with the memory card? I really, really want to avoid a hard reset. Last time I did that, I lost all my apps from the memory card (I have the Games Edition). I can try using PC Suite or Ovi Suite to back up my memory card apps, but I don't trust the suites that much. What I'd like to do is drag and drop my memory card apps to another location in my PC, but I cannot see the memory card apps in Windows Explorer.
I bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan this year. There was no issue for the first few days... Then suddenly it started restarting . Radomly. First when I enabled bluetooth. Then later on it would restart when I changed a setting like Home Screen Shortcuts or Personalised the General Profile ... etc. I am using a SanDisk MicroSD 4 GB card brand new clean formatted. I have only put in music from NokiaMusic and OVI store apps. It has nothing to do with software installed. There is some really wierd problem.
..So , I went to the Nokia Care store countless times, and they re-installed and updated the phone software and gave it to me.. still the same problem.. SO then they sent it to the Delhi Head Office and I got a replacement 5230 !!! And guess what still the same problem !!! Random restarts. I feel there is some issue with the phone software or firmware or there is some issue with the phone accessing its memory card , I dont know. I have the latest firmware update for this phone V12.0.089
Just got the Atrix (ME860, Android 2.2.2) and I really liked the main screen's 3D style display of the 5 different sections (Weather, Tools, Messages, Main screen, etc.) where I could just swipe my finger and switch between them. But for some reason this option dissapeared (maybe when I installed the gmail app?). I can't see that little middle button on the bottom of the main page where I use to press and be able to flip between those 5 screens. Is there any way to get that back? (of course without resetting the phone back to factory settings).

According to the tips&tricks section of Help Center, when I am on any home screen, pressing home again should take me to the middle home screen. Touching home from the middle screen should give me a thumbnail view of all home screens, enabling me to jump directly to anyone of them. Neither of these functions is working. Am I perhaps missing a setting?

If I press the search button while browsing through applications, I get the following error:"The application Home (process com.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."After I am forced to "force close" this, automatically all recently used (probably running) apps get started. To elaborate on the problem. It occurs every time I perform following steps.
1. I'm on the home screen
2. Press the Apps button (to view all installed apps)
3. Press the search button
Effects:
1. Error pop-up : Application Home has stopped unexpectedly (Exact message given above)
2. Click on "Force Close" button on the error popup
3. Screen blanks out for a couple of seconds and the home screen reappears. In case any other applications are running in the background originally, then all those apps start ie they occupy the screen (instead of home screen).
I added a couple of application shortcuts onto my home, and I couldn't find how to delete them.

Hope that helps instead of going through Contacts > your contact > FaceTime or going to Phone > Recent > etc.

First with my Atrix, and now with my Atrix 2, I just can't seem to consistenly connect, via USB, from my device to my PC. I've tried:
1. Charge only
2. USB Mass storage
3. Windows Media Sync
4. Motorola Phone Portal.
When I try all of these and go to Windows Explorer, all I see is My Computer>Mobile Device...but nothing is there. As I "scroll" through the above choices, I get tons of "bum-beep...bee-bumps" from my PC indicating some sort of connection, but no connection come to fruition. I am running a 32GM Sandisk microSD, and it is formatted--nothing on it. No apps, nothing. Windows XP.
Somethins I get a "Found new hardware" message "MTP device" but it just hangs there.
As far as I know, I have all the proper drivers installed, as I recently tried the one-click root for this device, which didn't work either. I think I deleted the Motorola Media Link stuff. I can't even get the ZumoCast to work.
My home entertainment or media center is not working. It used to work and now it turns the TV to 720 but thats it, no pop up selection on the phone. Ive tried to force it using media share but that has no effect either.
Ive now tried it on 2x tvs and 2x monitors and Im getting the same problems.
When I got my Atrix 2 days ago, I brought it home and connected to my home wifi with no problem. Downoaded the 1st of 2 updates/upgrades and after installing it, I was no longer able to connect to it. "Obtaining IP address" was all it displayed until disabling it and connecting to one of my neighbour's unsecured, poor signal, on and off connection.I've tried the tech people at Bell Mobiity and even my internet provider and they are clueless.Everything else in the house connects without issue, including my old blackberry bold 9000, xbox, 3 laptops, tv, etc. Just not my Atrix.I've rebooted the router several times, renewed WAN settings, switched to static ip. I've also pulled the battery for 2+ minutes, rebooted the phone, told it to forget, then re-entered the password to try to reconnect. Nothing.I also don't have any issue connecting to other wifi networks. Just the one in my house.
