Moto X (2014) :: Why Aren't Callers Able To Hear When They Call
Feb 25, 2015
I am using Motorola Connect and the Google Chrome app to successfully send and receive messages (and I love the feature). However, when I get an incoming call on my Moto X 2014, it pops up on my phone and also a Chrome notification, when I answer via the phone, the caller cannot hear me, and I have to hang up.
I've recently got the Moto X and out of nowhere, I can only hear audio through one ear when having headphones plugged in. I've used compressed air and blew it in there and I've tested both headphones that I used on the phone on my laptop and they work perfectly. I probably have to send it in for warranty. I can't find the repair request form for Canada and when I do the request online it says "The IMEI is from a different country so you can't get it fixed in the United States." or something along those lines.
When making or receiving a call, the caller or the person I am calling cannot hear me. If I turn on speaker, they can hear me. This is a new iPhone 4, I traded in my 1 year old iPhone 4, because it also was having this issue, & the apple store staff could not fix it.
I have tried turning on/off, plugging in ear buds and unplugging them, cause I heard that could help, & syncing the phone. Nothing has worked yet that I have tried.
As a fairly new X2 owner (I just switched from an X1 a few weeks ago), one thing that really bugs me is that when I'm on a call that I originate, the phone does not remain on the "call in progress" screen. Instead it goes back to the home screen and if I want to access any "call in progress" options, I have to pull down the notification shade.
Is there any way to change this? Do I have any options?
when an incoming call comes in and I try to wave the call off it wouldn't work. I checked my Moto Assist options and it is in fact enabled, however I was still unable to wave the call off. I did several test calls and still cannot get the wave to silence to work. What should I do?
Picked up my Moto X on launch day at Verizon, and every time I make a call, I notice the 4g signal at the top go down to 1x. Kind of new to smartphones, so just wondering what's going on. My wife upgraded to an HTC One M8 last month and her 4g remained stable during her calls. Pic is below ......
I use hangouts every day to talk to my girlfriend. For about the last week or so I've had many occasions where hangouts crashes, normally when our call gets cut off. Maybe related to the update to 5.1 which I did around a week ago.
incoming call screen on my wife moto X14 changed all of a sudden. there is no more swipe to answer, there is only notification on top, u have to swipe right then swipe down to answer.
When my phone is connected to my car (2014 toyota RAV4) and i am listening to audio (i.e. pocketcast) and I get a call, the audio does stop for the phone ring but when I pick up, the audio begins to play again during the phone call and the pocketcast app disappears from the notification bar also so I cannot stop it manually. Please note that the podcasts I listen to are not streaming, they are pre-downloaded. Why this is happening? Is this a Lollipop bug?
So whenever I use hangouts to place a call (to a conference line for example) 3g/4g work fantastically, better than a cellular call. However if I am on wifi the hangouts call audio is constantly speeding up and slowing down, and people complain they cant hear me.
I receive calls to my Google Voice Number in Hangouts (I only have a Data Plan/No Cellular Voice Plan). When an incoming call comes in, it uses the default Hangouts Ringer (which I don't like). However, I can't find anywhere to set the ringtone for Incoming Google Voice Calls ringing in Hangouts.
I have been having intermittent problems where I can't hear callers but they can hear me. I could usually restore it by turning my phone off, taking out the memory card and sim and then restarting it.This then became constant a few days ago and I did as above but still nothing. I updated my phone to 2.1 and now I hear 1 or 2 words very very faintly but that's it! In fact it is more faint than it was originally and over the space of 30 seconds I only get 2 words max. Everything else is working fine.
Phone was working fine and then a couple of days ago I tried making a call and couldn't hear any dialling tone or when the person answered I couldn't hear them. I can hear them if I turn on the speaker. I cannot hear either if I get a call though the phone rings fine.
I've updated the software and a battery pull but no use. Starting to lose patience now.
I can receive incoming calls and the person on the other end can hear me but i can't hear them unless i have them on speakerphone or have the headphones plugged in. it was working fine earlier but has stopped.
I just recently am unable to hear callers via the earpiece, but i am able to hear callers via the speakerphone and also music via the bb media player though.
Today I connected my Iphone to my Itunes for the first time in a long time, and incoming callers cannot hear me. I can call them back, and then they hear me. The phone is not on mute and the volume is up. I update to 5.1 and still having the same problem.
I am having an intermittent problem where callers can't hear me for 6-10 seconds when they call. This is a t best embarrassing and frequently they hang up. As I say the problem is intermittent - sometimes the phone answers as usual. Interestingly, I can hear them talking (and usually saying 'hello? hello?) but they can't hear me and I just keep saying hello until they hang up or until the sound kicks in and we can converse.
I did a factory reset with no improvement, and have also downloaded the PC updater and updated the system with no improvement. Then, I spoke to a friend the other night who described an identical problem with his X10.
Running 6.0 Bundle 695 (v6.0.0.246, Platform 6.4.0.105) on BB Torch 9800.I can't hear incoming callers on handset mode but speakerphone works. The caller can hear me on both modes. Have done the following but to no avail:- Wiped BB- Removed battery and rebooted- Removed 3rd party applications- Volume is up- Bluetooth is off- Plugged in earphones and can hear- Speakerphone works fine
First time post and really hoping someone can help before I need to claim on insurance. My Blackberry Torch has worked great until all of a sudden this week I have been unable to hear people when they call me.They can hear me - but I simply hear no audio at all from the handset. The only way I can hear what callers are saying is if I put them on speaker phone or use headphones.I have tried hard reset, volume level checks, updating software to no avail.
I bought a 9900 recently and when people call me or I call out, I can't hear them! They can hear me fine when I answer but the line is completely dead - radio silence! Every other sound aspect on the phone is working fine - alarm, BB alerts, ringtones, etc took it to a phone shop fo repair yesterdy and they changed the speaker/mic, but to no avail.
Be on a call and all of the sudden the other side cannot hear anything you're saying but you can still hear them. This can happen when you first answer the phone or while you're in the middle of a call. I already got a device replacement and it's still doing the same thing. I only have this problem with 9780 and never with the 9700. I hate to have to downgrade back.
I'm currently having an issue w/ my iPhone 4. For some odd reason when people call me they can't hear me but I can hear them loud & clear. I can record voice memos w/ no issues what-so-ever. I'm not sure what I can do to fix this issue. I've also tried replacing my sim card w/ a new one & that didn't work either, unless that sim card was a bad one as well.
Occasionally the person on the other end of the line can't hear me - unless I can turn the speaker phone on in time. I have tried rebooting. My software is up to date. And I have tried with bluetooth off. It still happens sometimes - but not all the time.
So I understand Priority Notifications is the new 'silent' mode but I can't get it working so that it has the same functionality as older Android versions.
I've set all priority notifications (events / calls / messages) off and choose to turn on priority notifications indefinitely but each day it reverts back to 'all' so I have to remember to turn it on every day.
Also, when in an app (e.g WhatsApp) and a new message comes through, it still makes a noise even though it's in priority notifications mode!
