I received the new update today and have noticed that my phone vibrates when I receive a new text. It only happens for SMS. I have checked the individual setting for SMS and Hangouts and vibrate is turned off.
View 2 RepliesIf I go into hangouts and sign out, next time I go back in it just automatically signs me straight back in. So basically anybody can read my messages because hangouts will just automatically log me in. How the hell do you stop it from automatically signing you in? Can't find anything in settings and I've tried going into apps and deleting the hangouts cache and hangouts data. But it still signs me straight back in. It won't even let me delete the app either.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the last couple months, people have complained that they hear an echo of themselves when I call them using speakerphone. With some trial and error, I've determined that the echo occurs because the microphone on my end is picking up the sound of the phone's loudspeaker (hitting the mute button on my end stops the echo for the other person).
This only occurs when I'm using a third party application. Speakerphone works fine if I'm using the native dialer. But any speakerphone or video call from Hangouts or Facebook Messenger gives the person on the other end of the line the intolerable echo of themselves.
The echo still happens in safe mode. The echo remained after I wiped the cache partition, and even after a full factory reset.
I use hangouts every day to talk to my girlfriend. For about the last week or so I've had many occasions where hangouts crashes, normally when our call gets cut off. Maybe related to the update to 5.1 which I did around a week ago.

To read or reply to the text I have to touch the Hangouts icon because single or double taping the white notification does nothing and I cannot swipe to remove it. I only get this notification when the phone is on but not in screen lock mode. How do I stop this white notification bar from popping up?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed the update the Hangout today and ever since all my SMS messages vibrate in addition to my selected notification sound.
I have tried everything to turn this off. All the "Vibrate" check boxes are cleared and still it vibrates.
It does not vibrate for Hangouts messages only SMS. Yes, I know there is a separate setting for each message type. All of them have Vibrate unchecked.
I even tries restarting the phone, but that did not work.
I receive calls to my Google Voice Number in Hangouts (I only have a Data Plan/No Cellular Voice Plan). When an incoming call comes in, it uses the default Hangouts Ringer (which I don't like). However, I can't find anywhere to set the ringtone for Incoming Google Voice Calls ringing in Hangouts.

Whenever I reboot my phone those 5 archived conversation show back up in my current list of Hangouts conversations. I touch and hold the conversation I want to archive hit the archive button and get the message Archiving Hangout, but they still come back after a phone reboot.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm listening to music, either through Bluetooth or the phone's speakers (haven't tested this with headphones), and I get a Google Voice call through Hangouts, the music will pause while the phone rings, but a second or two after I answer the call, the music will start playing again. It's much quieter and awful quality, but still loud enough for the other person to hear and drown out their voice.
I'll answer the phone and start talking, then the music starts playing again and I have to tell that person to hold on a second while I pull the phone away from my face to pause the music. It's extremely annoying and it's never happened on any other Android device I own.
On my wife's MXPE running 6.0 on T Mobile she often cannot send group messages in Hangouts. Everything I've found on the subject is due to coming from an iPhone however she has never had an iPhone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I understand Priority Notifications is the new 'silent' mode but I can't get it working so that it has the same functionality as older Android versions.
I've set all priority notifications (events / calls / messages) off and choose to turn on priority notifications indefinitely but each day it reverts back to 'all' so I have to remember to turn it on every day.
Also, when in an app (e.g WhatsApp) and a new message comes through, it still makes a noise even though it's in priority notifications mode!
Pre-Lollipop, I was able to have a different ringtone for each contact. This was set in the 'Contacts' app. I can't seem to see how to do this in Lollipop.
