Lumia Icon :: Video Out Through Micro USB?
Oct 8, 2014I am a new Icon owner (moved from iPhone) and I love it. One thing that I'm looking for (and kind of assumed that all phones had now) is a way to transmit video out from the phone. I have a car that accepts RCA inputs. I had an Android phone about 4 years ago that you could connect directly and it would work. The iPhone needed a special cord to do it (of course).
I'm about to buy a microUSB to RCA cord, but then it dawned on me that there might not even be a video out with this phone. I realize that it supports Miracast with 8.1 but I'm looking for a physical solution.
Lumia Icon :: How To Back Up Music
Jul 29, 2014Just took the leap from IPhone to the Nokia Lumia Icon despite all the criticism from friends and family who are avid IPhone users. I was a little unsure at first and nervous but when I opened that thing up it was amazing. So about two hours into playing with it I wanted to try my hand at putting music on it. So I plugged it into my computer, nothing, I read everything online about how to do it, and so I kept trying the computer and still nothing. Ehhh I'll figure it out later. I go to charge it at night, nothing. So to make a longer story a little shorter, I took it back to Verizon to get a new one not even 24 hours after I got it. Now I'm super nervous about having an Icon, but so far this is day 3 and I'm loving it. I have all my music on it but I wanted to know if there was anyway to back up the music I have to my computer or is that just something I need to use SkyDrive for?

Jun 7, 2015Ever since Denim have been psyched to take my Icon to a concert and capture some 4k video. indeed, the sound is incredible. video is pretty good. but the recording seems to "hiccup" every 20-30 seconds. here's a 4k clip from last week: and then here is a "mere" HD clip from the same concert. it also skips: I can't think of anything I did to prompt this behavior.

Feb 25, 2014I have my Skydrive / Onedrive storage settings set up (in Settings/Photos + Camera/Auto upload/Skydrive - turned on, and best quality (needs wifi) set for both photos and videos.
For some reason, videos are not uploading, even when i'm connected to WIFI. Is there a max file size for uploading? If I go into Pocket File Manager, I can copy/paste a video file into my Skydrive folder, but this doesn't seem to be the best way to do this. The files should auto-upload based on the settings Ive selected.
Also - If I delete my low res photos from within pocket file manager (not DNG, the 16mp jpg files), will they delete from my photos app?

Mar 16, 2012When I press the Music & Video tile it looks like it is going to load but then bounces back to the main menu.Does on the complete list menu as well.Did this once before for a while then started working agin.Also now the xBox Live games is doing the same thing .The Nokia Music tile works OK though.When it first happened I thought it was a low battery thing as the battery was lowish, but this time the battery is fully charged.

Mar 26, 2014I am having two problems with Nokia Camera on my Icon. When recording a video in Nokia Camera. I have found that it isn't recording sound.When recording a video in Nokia Camera, it takes about 5 seconds after hitting the record button for it to actually start recording.
I am not sure how to replicate the issue because it has only happened a few times and it will fix itself by restarting the phone.
When it does happen it will happen every time I record a video through Nokia Camera until a reboot. I at least now figured out that if I hit record and there is a delay between it actually starting to record, then the sound will not be recorded so a restart is necessary.
I can still record through the WP camera app and audio will be recorded, but this is a huge problem for me. I have about 5 videos that I have taken in the past week that were actually pretty important that have no sound now.
I uninstalled Nokia Camera and reinstalled and it still did it. Is this a Nokia Camera bug or an Icon bug?
Lumia Icon :: Stuttering In Video Recording In Loud Environments
Jun 24, 2015I think one of those recent updates fixed the stuttering in video recording in loud environments. Last night I took the Icon to a RUSH concert and was very pleased with the results.
The hall was deafening, but the audio is surprisingly clear and not distorted as I feared it would be.
I used the 1440p/30fps setting. The video quality is a bit lower than 4k, but i think this setting is the best compromise. It's the highest setting that enables you to use the 4k tools for choosing a frame / action shot / etc. but also zooms in as far as the 720 or 1080 setting. I can't get the 2160 to zoom in far at all.

Mar 12, 2014Has really horribly noisy low light photos and video? I recently went on a concert cruise, and everything during the day is stunningly crisp and detailed (audio is INSANE, by the way. SO good. Most people could not tell that it was recorded on a phone.) but photos and videos taken at night had a huge noise attack or something.

Jul 19, 2010Recently my c905a has become unable to playback certain videos, the last 20 or so i have taken. The videos can be played immediately after recording, but later if attempted have a broken film icon instead of thumbnail and if tried to play the message "Currently Unavailable appears". This is not consistent however, a few videos in the middle of the 20 are playable. Their sizes are all varying, settings on each video are the same. I thought that they were possibly not playable on my phone so i moved them onto my computer - same issue, E.M. Total Player fails to open the videos. I hope someone can help me with this. I was counting on these 8.1 MP to record some good material for an oral presentation and final presentation for the chinese class i'm taking right now. I picked up great material, the base of the two projects. These projects are 40% of my grade and need to be presented in 2 and 3 days! How can i salvage these videos? Every video lists appropriate size, what else should i look for? How should i go about fixing this?

Dec 20, 2010I successfully upgraded to Android 2.1 on my Xperia x10 Mini Pro. After the upgrade everything works beautifully except 2 things.
1> I am unable to play any online videos. When I try loading the video it does not load the control for it and shows a small square block like a Lego brick. Looks like the browser is missing some add-on like Flash or something. Have tried installing Flash for the browser but it said Flash is already installed.. Have tried downloading a different browser, like Opera but that does not help either.
2> This is not very important, but for some reason the alarm does not work any more. I can set the alarm on the phone. It shows that the alarm is set for a particular time but when the time comes it does not ring. Have tried using different applications for this but those don't work either.
