Feb 2, 2016If I remember correctly, at some point while I was discovering Cataclysm I ran into the option to keep the screen off when you plug or unplug the charger.But for the life of me I can't find that setting anymore. With the Cataclysm topic being closed, I thought I'd ask here.Google gave some answers, but all required additional apps which I do not want to install.

Jul 1, 2010Its been a while since I posted on here but I woke up this morning to a phone call and while trying to talk to the person on the other end my blackberry kept thinking I was plugging in and unplugging a wired headset making it impossible to communicate. When I actually plugged in my wired headset it worked fine but from then on any calls without the headset have the same issue.
I don't know if it has anything to do with it but I recently updated a ton of system and user apps however the phone was working fine until this morning.I've done a battery pull, blown compressed air into the audio jack itself, I've restored the phone in desktop manager, and I've even taken the phone apart and made sure the contacts for the audio jack weren't obscured but to no avail.Do you think this could be a hardware issue with the jack or is it more likely to be a software issue? I'm thinking hardware considering it works fine with the wired headset in place

Lumia Icon :: Phone Won't Turn On After Battery Died
May 25, 2015Last night I let my battery die. Not on purpose, of course. It was at 4% and I was actually walking over to the charger when I got the goodbye message and the phone shut off. I tried to turn it on, but I just got the low battery sign. I remember this happened on my old phone, so I just let it charge for the night. Unfortunately, when I woke up this morning it still wouldn't turn on. Didn't even get the low battery sign. Soft reset does nothing. Both of my computers did not even recognize that anything was plugged in. The only thing is, last week when I charged my phone I got a message saying something along the lines of your phone is charging slow because you're not using the stock charger.

The only problem is that they only display for a few seconds and they usually vanish before I can get to the phone to see what the notification was, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to pull up a list of old notifications. So I'm wondering if there's any way to make these notifications display longer. Right now, they seem to be about five seconds and they're gone. I'd like to extend that to at least ten seconds. Mar 15, 2014The volume warning that pops up when you are plugged into the headphone jack with the volume at 30. The fact that it automatically turns my volume down to 13 is maddening! And it does this at a seemingly random interval.
Any way to turn this super ridiculous "feature" off? It never fails that I'm listening to music, or a podcast, through my portable stereo plugged into the aux jack, and lets just say I was changing spark plugs in a Jeep (hypothetically speaking of course) and I couldn't get to the phone to turn it back up and dismiss the nanny message... Even if I had a set of headphones plugged in, who is Nokia to tell me at what level I can have the volume set?

I love the phone, but this shutter delay kills me. Seriously, I die a little inside every time I try to take a picture. I'm perfectly capable of keeping my hand steady. The option to turn off the shutter delay does not exist in my phone. Is there an app or a download I can find to turn off the delay all together and keep my flash? I found a thread that suggested that I make sure I check all my running apps, which I did and shut down all but the defaults and the icon would still pop up. May 10, 2015Is there any way to save the USB connection type when plugging the phone to the PC? Specifically MTP. I'm on the Verizon variant, unrooted.
Right now, when I plug it in, it comes up with "Connected as installer" and the Verizon Mobile cd drive thing gets mounted. If I wait it out or if I manually go into the phone and swipe down notifications to change the type to Media device (MTP), the phone mounts. Problem is, the next time i plug in the phone again, I have to either wait it out again or select MTP again. Is there a way to save it to the MTP option? First time on a Samsung phone and not sure if it was just like this since the beginning of time or what.

I have to mention that I changed the screen another times, but the problems started again after 3 days, and that sometimes the phone gets fixed sudenlly, but not for too long, the longest period was 2 days, and two more times it worked properly again for few minutes (once I unlock the lock screen, the phone gets corrupted again)

Sep 28, 2014I'm relatively new to using the lumia 1520, and have just about got my start screen setup how I like it with tiles. However one thing that is bugging me, is that I can't appear to change the text size displayed in the calendar tile on my start screen. Is this normal?
I've messed with text slider in ease of access to see if this would improve things, which it does in other apps & internet explorer, but it doesn't appear to have any effect on the text size displayed in the calendar tile. If this is the norm, do you think that the size of text in the calendar tile may be able to be changed in a update. I'm running official 8.1.

I'm also noticing some seriously delay in some incoming SMS's (up to 20 minutes). It's 2012 and it's Nokia we are talking about... How can they possibly release a phone that struggles with the most basic of mobile phone tasks? I get that Nokia didn't receive WP8 until a few weeks before the device was released, but, I feel like I'm using a phone built with alpha/beta code.
