I've Searched A Lot On Internet To Find Out The Offline Backup For My Lumia 1020. Like It Was For Older Phones Like Nokia 701, N8 And Else.. . But I Didn't Found Any.
Is There Any Possible Way Or Any App Like Nokia Suite That Can Synchronize My Phone And I Can Take Offline Backup Of My Contacts And Text Messages In My PC.?
I recently got my NL1020. My girlfriend is complaining why my status on viber gets offline all the time. I know I have Wifi connected all the time. Then why is viber showing me as offline?
I have a Lumia 1020 and love taking photos with it and I love using G+. Using G+ on the web apps on WP8 isn't too shabby but I hated getting pictures and videos to it because it'd mean I'd have to plug in my phone to my pc and upload the photos to G+ from there. Well, that is no longer the case!!
Google released the new version of Picasa today which is the Program for Mac/Windows that allows you to manage your G+ photos on the computer. One of the biggest features they added today way autouploading photos on your PC to G+. WP8 already autouploads to skydrive so I pointed the picasa autoupload folder to my skydrive folder on my PC and it works FLAWLESSLY!!
If you want to do this you just need a few things.
1. Install Picasa on your PC/MAC 2. Install Skydrive on your PC/MAC 3. Point the Picasa Autobackup folder to your Skydrive photos folder on computer
So you'll take a photo, it'll auto back up to Skydrive, which then syncs with your PC. Picasa then grabs the photos as they are downloaded to your PC and uploads them to G+!
Is there any way possible to actually make a backup image of my 1020?
The only other smartphone I've had prior to this was an iPhone and one thing Apple did right was making a backup image. If I had to get my phone replaced, I'd just sync it with iTunes and it the new phone immediately had all the settings and screens my old phone had right down to whatever websites I had up last.
I see there are backup options on here but it doesn't seem to actually make an image.
My girlfriend and I went on a big trip around Europe recently, and she has a Lumia 1020 (I have a Lumia Icon). Over the last few months, she has not been able to back up her data, apps, photos, etc. properly. It has been hit or miss.
Now, she wants to connect her phone to her computer to import the photos and videos to her computer. However, connecting her phone does nothing other than charge it. No prompt comes up, no device is recognized, not even in device manager. Nothing happens at all. It only charges.
Microsoft suggested a hard reset of the whole phone. But that would mean losing all of the data she has, including the very important photos from our trip. They suggested to back up to the cloud, but OneDrive backups have been unreliable, as only some of her photos actually get backed up, and when she tries to create a new backup of settings+apps, it gets to 100% and then says there was a problem and fails.
I'm trying to restore a 1520 from a backup that was created on a 1020. It's not working and I can't explain why. When I restored a back up from a 920 to the 1020 it worked flawless. So here is more information ....
Lumia 920 with firmware Black and WP8.1 to Lumia 1020 with Black and WP8.1 works.
Lumia 1020 with Black and WP 8.1 UP 1 to Lumia 1520 with Cyan and WP8.1 does not work, backup doesn't show up, but the old backup from the 920 shows up.
I bought N97 mini couple of weeks back. I had battery backup problem. Approched Nokia care, they updated software. From then it became worst. Battery backup problem is not solved and phone goes offline/swiches off suddenly.
I bought the phone 3 weeks ago and was shocked to find out it only worked online ... not at all the way it was advertised (imho).Nokia Maps ''always free of charge'' was the one big reason I decided for a Nokia loyalty rather then going to Samsung or Apple.
1. Is / will Nokia Maps be available soon for Lumia 800 in offline mode, like the good old Nokia I had for 4 years?
2. Is there a good alternative (is Drive really an alternative and is truly offline)?
3. If none of the above - which Nokia smartphone does work offline with Nokia Maps? I still have a week's time to bring it back to the store!
when i use my lumia 800 GPS to travel, is their a way to save the journey on the phone so that next time i dont have to replan the same route. also can i make a trip using via points?
I just bought a new lumia 710 here in Singapore and I am trying out the offline navigation. I've already downloaded the maps here but everytime I would search for the destination, the phone keeps on searching for it "online". I thought offline should work with Lumia
I'm going to be taking a road trip through Canada and want to use my 1520 without using data. I know I can download maps but I've never actually done this. How does it work if you're not connected to a network? How does it accurately pick up your position?
I installed Nokia Music 3.0 on my Lumia 800 (UK - no branded) 7.10.8112.7 Location - Kazakhstan / Operator - Beeline
When I run the first time, in menu I can find My Music / Radio Mix / Gigs / Setting. After couple of time I enter/exit from the app, Gigs and Radio Mix disappear, and I have only My Music and Setting. Means I can't anymore listen to online music or download radio mix for offline listening. If I uninstall the app and install again, the first time I found the complete menu, but after they disappear again. Without Radio Mix menu the Nokia Music app is not useful anymore.
I have just notice tonight that when I was talk to people through the text/messaging app and then suddenly everyone would be offline then after going offline then online it would fix it for a second then do the same thing.
I have not yet gotten ahold of a Lumia 950 but plan to do so in the fairly near future. I've been reading this forum and find various comments about whether or not to restore from a WM 8.1 backup. My current phone is a Lumia 1020 running Denim.
My question is for those who have recommended a fresh install rather than a restore from backup. Are you referring only to the "Apps and Settings" backup and not the "text messages" backup?
Cant understand why the backup to PC of vital Lumia phone information such as contacts, calendar and messges can not be easily and quickly achieved as with the Nokia suite and N8. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.
I have the 1020. I get updates on my Facebook page from Shape magazine. It has videos on workouts. When I click on the link it says I need an app and do I want to install. I hit yes and says no app available and takes me back to the post. When I install the App from the app store, it's free, it appears to install, but cant access it.
I wonder if there is an app similar to "No screen off" (Android) that allows to suspend the automatic screen off, then reactivate it with the previously memorized delay.
Click on the widget to toggle between the two modes, to change the screen timeout.
My 1020 has become quite sluggish of late so I've decided I'm going to do a hard reset at the very least.I bought the device (yellow AU CV) whilst on holiday in Australia, but I'm now back in the UK, so I thought as I'm going to wipe it anyway, I might as well reflash it to the CV UK ROM, especially as Australia appear to be massively stalling on Denim as well.
Lately, I've been getting a fair number of corrupted DNG files in my Lumia 1020 - I mean, I guess they're corrupted, since when I import them to Lightroom, the program states it can't open or edit them.
Curiously, the 5 mpx are fine.. When I check the size of the DNGs, I can see that they have, exactly, 1 byte less, in size, than the DNGs that Lightroom can edit.
