Motorola Motoactv :: Flakes Out When It Detects A New Update?
Jul 14, 2012I would like to know if anyone else has noticed their MotoActv flaking out when it detects the availability of new updates. I would really hate to think that Motorola would be foolish enough to do this intentionally just to encourage people to update their devices. However, my Motoactv has never had the massive behavioral problems that I see upon update notification at any other time.Just to give you guys a baseline, I normally burn just over 2K calories in a day if I don't work out, and my battery is normally at about 70-80% after being unplugged for 12-16 hours.
The first time that I noticed the problem, the device told me that I burned over 30K calories in one day, and the battery life was completely horrible that day. I don't remember exactly, but I believe that it was down to about 10% by the end of the day.Now today, the battery life was horrible again. It actually died somewhere during the day, after being unplugged for less than 8 hours and not doing any workout. Once I got home and plugged it back in, it had completely forgotten even the time and date. I let it charge enough to power back on, and low and behold it told me their was an update available! This is completely unacceptable. For a device to run just fine right up until the time that it detects an available update, and then for it to start acting like a complete piece of garbage is ridiculous.I really hope that Motorola has an explanation for this. But if it reads something like, "The updates address the problems you're experiencing, please update the device and you should no longer experience the problems." I'm going to be pissed.

Mar 11, 2015Sony Xperia Z2, display random flickering spikes, after Sony update.Is a Z2 D6503, locked bootloader, stock DRM key, stock 23.0.1.A.0.167 rom. The problem came when i updated multimedia application Album, Movies, Walkman ......I flash with flash tool D6503_17.1.A.2.55_Unbranded.ftf (4.4.2), not solved.Update with Sony Pc Companion to latest D6503_23.0.1.A.0.167, not solved.Repair with Sony Pc Companion (reinstal D6503_23.0.1.A.0.167) not solved.By the way, in landscape mode, almost no problems; some games, applications have problem’s in landscape mode; in portrait mode all have problems.In Album, Movies app, random flickering spikes disappear when press settings options in on the left side.When chek Disable HW overlays under Developer options, more less random flickering spikes.Actualy i am on custom D6503_23.0.1.A.0.167, i decreased the frequency processor, GPU, but not solved.

Apr 15, 2012I just got this last week in the hopes of replacing my ageing Garmins (Edge 705 for the bike and Forerunner 405 for runs) and have just put in 2 short rides over the weekend. I manage a couple of online training sites (don't ask me why) including the awesome Sportracks and these typically can either import .CSV or .TCX files.So I got the CSV exported from the MotoACTV website and basically imported it wholesale into Sportracks. Also I used an online tool to convert the CSV to TCX where I upload to Garminconnect and Strava (online). What I observed is that the speed shows 'spikes and dips' I guess overall the average speed will be the same over distance and I've checked this to be true but what with the 'spikes and dips'? This has basically sent the power estimation algorithm in Strava and Sportracks to overestimate the power due the the sudden deceleration 'dips' and sudden acceleration 'recovery from dips'. I don't see the same issue on the speed curve on the motoactv site itself.

I left it charging over night and tried to turn it on in the morning but it was still completely dead. Jul 13, 2012I got the curve 9360 in January this year. Ive updated software before by using the wireless updater. Two days ago I updated it, all was fine until yesterday. The battery was still about 30% when suddenly I got the 'battery too low for radio use' notification. The signal went off and went back on again, this happened about 10 times till the battery actually turned orange, you know, before it goes red. It kept vibrating so I turned it off. This morning, I put it on charge and the red light goes on for a while and the nothing. Its been on charge since 8 and still nothing. When I remove the battery and put it back in, the light around the trackpad goes on and then off again. Is it the battery?
