I had just recently flashed my LG g3 back to stock and rooted it from my previous version lollipop 5.0. I had backed up system data and user apps with titanium backup. But unfortunately I cant restore my contacts because it's a different version from stock when I backed it up. And I have a custom backup with twrp. I'd like to know if I let my current version update and I loose my root so I could write down all of my contact numbers would I be able to use my twrp backup to go back to my rooted stock? And do y'all know of a stable android 5.0
I have recently updated my XPERIA X10 version to 2.3.3 frm 2.1. (updated through the sony care) Everything works fine than the SMS. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Verizon (SM-G900V) on the latest lollipop build (OE1). Whenever I have to switch on my phone from being powered off, it tells me "Android is Upgrading" ever since I did the latest update.
I got a SE XPERIA X8 for me and my girlfriend, in a special package from Vodafone Portugal. The site said that the 2.1 Update is available. I start using the phone and got a notification saying the update was available to make. So, I got a PC Companion, did exactly what they said and nothing, it stopped in Step 2, when I push the "Back" button and insert the USB cable. So, I researched and all, used the Update Service, still nothing, removed Anti-Viruses, Firewalls and run the computer in safe mode in networking...and nothing.
I have downloaded the ROM upgrade to set my phone to Android 2.1. I have also downloaded the latest HTC Sync software.i have no problem 'syncing' my phone with my PC (Windows 7) and the connection is fine. Until, I open the ROM upgrade software on my PC. When I get to the first window warning me the upgrade will delete all info from my phone and asking me to open the Readme, the connection always drops out. Therefore, the PC cannot start updating the phone.
Ever since upgrading to 5.0.2 and later, when turning on my (now replaced) Z3 it would show the Sony logo, the encryption/lock animation, ask for my encryption pattern, get to the wavy boot animation screen then restart. After the restart it would go through the same process but after inputting my encryption pattern I'd come across the 'Android is upgrading/starting' screens. Meaning it would take around 10 minutes to just turn on my phone.
I thought it was just a problem that would be fixed with a reset. However, when my device was broken (insured) I was given a completely new one by my carrier which after a few days came across the exact same problem and has been doing it for over a month now. As far as I can tell it only happens after I turn on encryption but that might not be the cause at all.
so now i can no longer copy my pictures or install any .apk files that i have. After upgrading to android 2.1, when i connect the phone via USB cable, it makes connection, then as i want to copy files, it reboots the phone, every time.
I want to upgrade my Motorola Atrix from Android 2.2.2 to 2.3 Gingerbread. However, the upgrade instructions require installed Blur_Version.4.1.83.MB860.ATT.en.US. My installed version is 4.4.20.MB860.Retail.en.DE. How can I upgrade my Android version?
I've just upgraded my x10 to 2.1 and all of my contacts are not being restored, where are they? It took 10 minutes to restore the contacts so they must be there somewhere, does anybody know where?I've tried importing them from the memory card in the phonebook options but it says that it can't read the memory card.
I used to face reboots when my X10 was still on 1.6, but I was ok with them since they happened on certain apps and not that frequent. After upgrading to android 2.1, my phone never stops rebooting. The first reboot occurred when I was using Backup and Restore app to restore my contact, SMS .... I have not even downloaded or set up any application. Then the reboot started to happen whenever I turn on my Wifi. Now whenever I am using my phone it reboots, during calls, searching contacts, installing and playing games. I tried re-installing Android 2.1 several times using PC companion and Sony Ericsson Update Service, but no use. Always the first reboot after a fresh install will be when I am restoring my data. I like the phone and was waiting for android 2.1 since September, and this is what I get, a useless phone where I can barely place a call.
After upgrading my Xperia X10 mini pro all my notes disappeared even though I did a back-up. I had(hopefully still have somewhere) a lot of important information stored there. This topic has already been issued at this as well as other forums, without any reasonable solution. My notes were stored in Notes which is an original feature of the phones software. Is it really impossible to retrieve them anyhow? Aren't there a way to wind time backwards and undo the upgrade? Where and in which format Notes files information is stored? Are they saved at the SD card?
This problem has only risen after installing the android 2.1 upgrade when I have my usb cable connected.. I have tried reinstalling the upgrade but the problem has not been resolved.
II'm unable to backup my iPhone 5 since upgrading to iOS 8. I get the message "the last backup could not be completed" after attempting to do it manually in iCloud settings.
Info: iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.1, upgraded to Yosemite on Mac
I have a big problem with my Xperia Z3, I i am using lollipop 5.0.2 . It worked fine with no issue until yesterday when I restart my xperia z3 it just keep on restarting . I switched it off and the on again.
Now its stuck at” Android upgrading, starting apps” all the time and it keeps restarting. I have tried to soft –reset nothing is happening. I have reached at a level to lose everything in the phone especially my contacts by deciding to do a hard/factory reset but still I cant do that using volume up or down. I am totally stuck. How to get rid of this. I cant get into recovery mode coz nothing is happening when I press key combination.
What is your best procedure for backing up and restoring apps, data, settings, call history, wifi settings, SMS/MMS, vpn settings, etc. while upgrading ROMs or totally wiping the phone and switching from one custom ROM to a different one?
Do you use HTC sync? cloud? HTC backup app? Titanium? adb backup command? copying files directly to PC?
What tools to use to backup/restore all things in the phone...
I had backup my data when my phone was on android 4.4.2. Since I updated it to android 5.1, I am unable to restore my data of that backup which I took in 4.4.2
I have gotten my phone back from repair, and it is now empty. Before I sent it, I backed up the SMS messages using the stock messages app. I stored the file on dropbox. Now, I am trying to restore the messages. So, I go to dropbox, and export the file to the SD Card in the phone. However, no matter where on the SD card I store the file, the messages app cannot find it to restore.
//Note that I now have no messages in my phone. Do I need to make some messages to produce the correct folder first?// (Edit: I did this, and it made no difference)
I'm using Titanium Backup and my backup folder used to be a USB-drive I mounted with Stickmount.
Now, with Android 6, Stickmount no longer works for me and the built-in USB-OTG mount takes over and mounts the USB drive to /mnt/media_rw/SOMEFOLDER.
But with Titanium Backup, I can't access this folder (folder chooser has no permission to move into this folder).
So, is there a possibility to access the USB drive in another way or do I have to do backups to the internal storage and move it to the USB drive manually?
How can i create a full backup from my xperia Z2 (not rooted), include System etc., before update to Android 5.0 Lollipop and how can i rollback after Update to Android 5.x ( if i don´t like or to many problems)?
I reflashed all the factory images to my Nexus 6P (except userdata), and then restored a TWRP backup of the data partition. This worked, my phone boots up and obviously has my installed apps, etc. But... on the Nexus 6P when you restart the phone you have to enter your lock pattern or PIN. My phone was previously configured with a pattern. It seems the TWRP data backup didn't backup the lock pattern, because it doesn't recognize my pattern.
My fingerprint is recognized, but on the Nexus 6P you still have to enter the lock pattern or PIN when you first reboot. So, I have no way to get into the phone. I tried setting a new lock screen password with Android Device Manager, but it doesn't work. I still get the screen asking for the lock pattern. Is there any way I can get into my phone without blowing away all the data?
I did a normal backup and just before it finished, a message came up saying the DM could not backup one Theme. I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.
I have updated my iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 and I can't restore my backup files because when I try to restore my backup iTunes shows that the backup is corrupted or not compatible with the iPhone
When setting up my new iPhone 4s, should I restore from icloud or itunes backup? Or set up as a new iPhone? The phone number is staying the same from my iPhone 4.
My N95 8GB reboots at the final stage of backup during settings. I have reset to factory settings but no change. My PC uses Windows 7 and I have latest software on my phone and PC. I would appreciate help please.
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
