I'm a new AT&T customer, coming over from Verizon and would really like to keep my existing phone number. I called AT&T's porting department last night and was told they cannot port my number over because my number is from an area where AT&T does not have service (my number is originally from Southwest Minnesota, where I used to live -- AT&T is pretty much non-existant in the area). I'm told they need an address, in that area, that has AT&T service.
figured this may be a good idea to keep going with few questions and only posts of the new games that are decent or great ports from other platforms that are available through the repos.be sure you intsll rootfs to your device so that you can just use the eterminal with the directions below.below is the repos to be sure that you have them installed: mo Extras-Testing is: URL: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-testing/ Distribution: fremantle Components: free non-free Maemo Extras-Devel is: URL: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/ Distribution: fremantle Components: free non-free Mozilla repository is: URL: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile Distribution: chinook Components: release aMSN repository is: URL: http://www.amsn-projekt.net/maemo Distribution: fremantle Components: amsn tcltk My-maemo Name: My-Maemo.com URL: http://my-maemo.com/repository/ Distribution: fremantle Components: user New repo : Ovi repository Name : Ovi URL : https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ovi/ Distribution : ./ Components: Ovi Catalogue name: Maemo Nintendo Emulators Web address: http://b-man.xceleo.org/repo/maemo-nintendo-emulators/ Distribution: fremantle Components: main
After transferring a number from a previous carrier to a new carrier, I can no longer receive iMessages from my telephone number. People can only iMessage me if they know my Apple ID. I've tried restoring the phone, but I'm always faced with 'error' in the iMessage settings window.
I have only one cell number that will show up in my text messaging with just the number not the name. I have deleted it and reentered it. It has a + in front of the number.
I sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?
I am using E71, which firmware version is 410.21.010. I have a contact which has 2 number (mobile and Telephone) and i have set mobile as default. When i make call from the contacts applicaition it is calling to mobile without showing the number list. But if i call from the homescreen by typing the name, it is showing the number list. I also created new contacts with more than a number and tried, it's not working... And when it shows the number list in the homescreen, pressing the call end button doesn't cancel showing the number list. I have to press the cancel button to cancel the list showing...
I am really happy with my N900, but one thing is frustrating me.When I have a contact with multiple numbers saved and they are calling me or sending me sms (even worse in the latter case), I would like to be able to see from which number they are dialing to know whether they are calling from abroad, local, mobile, fixed instead of just seeing their name when they call. With the sms, I can't even know from which number they sent the sms!solution please.
i just wondering if anybody can tell me the difference between the pin that beginning with number 2 and the one that beginning with number 3?And also how about you guys? what number is your pin beginning with?
I just purchased a new Iphone 4s 64GB. I brought it to my carrier to have it activated. when I came home to register it with Apple, I noticed that the serial number on the box is different then the serial number on my Iphone.
my phone number and serial number not populated in phone settings. I think they used to. Have recently unlocked and flashed with stock firmware. Could this be related and does if matter?
I need instructions on how to change the MIN & MDN numbers for my carrier. They are preset in the X2 and I don't how how to delete or override the existing number.
I am new to this whole Blackberry thing, so please... take it easy on me.Anyway, whenever I add a new contact from a phone call or whatever it, by default, goes under as their "Work" number. Even when I transferred numbers from my Envy to my Blackberry a lot of the contacts went under "Work" rather than "Mobil".How can I change it so that by default it comes up under mobile (since that's the majority of numbers I add to my contacts)? Also, is there a way to easily switch the classification of a number? Lately I've been just going into the contact and retyping it, but doing that for all of my contacts will be a pain.
I have transferred the number from my old phone to my Blackberry Curve but the phone stills shows the original number. Is it possible to change it?, and if so how is it done?
In trying to find out why my boss and I cannot send or receive each others iMessages I discovered that my phone was displaying the number I was originally assigned when I bought it. However I have ported my old number!
I receive text messages from other people with no trouble, so I assume the ported number is in there somewhere.
Can anyone explain how the phone is hanging on to its old number (I have twice changed it to the ported one in 'settings' but it keeps going back) and is this why the boss and I can't iMessage each other? I don't know any other iPhone users to check with.
I have a new AT&T phone purchased from someone else who did not activate it. Now I am trying to activate it but it keeps stopping me when it gets to a phone number that I do not recognize (assume it is whoever purchased this phone originally). I am trying to reset it so I can use my working SIM card. I have tried the restore and no luck. For some reason, the phone seems locked until it is activated by the original purchaser.
I recently sold my iPhone 3GS and ported the number out to Google Voice. This old number is now forwarded to a new number on an employer provided 4S. I figured I could save some money, avoid the hassle of carrying two phones, and, at the same time, keep my personal number. I read about all of the problems that would happen if I did not turn off imessage before porting a number away from iOS and was determined to not let it happen to me.Before doing anything, I SHUT OFF iMESSAGE. I then ported the number out and cancelled my account, removed the SIM (AT&T), did a complete wipe/restore of the iphone, unregistered the iphone from my support profile, and sold the phone. From what I can tell from all of the support forum posts, I did everything I was supposed to do to ensure I would have no issues with imessage. I was so sure of myself, I didn't even bother to test it. I wish I had.
Despite my efforts, I am still not receiving text messages from iOS imessage users because messages from them to me still default to imessage instead of SMS. It doesn't seem to matter if they have the "Send as SMS" option toggled on or off...I will not get the message regardless. I've had people delete entire message strings and delete/replace my contact info in an effort to fix. No luck. I even had a stranger at work who did not have my contact info test it out for me. When he tried to text me, it defaulted to imessage. I must point out that I have ZERO issues receiving SMS messages.
how do I go about correcting the issue? I've already spent about an hour on the phone with Apple and about an hour at the genius bar (where the issue was successfully demonstrated first hand when a "genius" tried to text me from his phone). They claim that they had no prior knowledge of any issues with imessage and suggested that I tell all of my contacts with iphones to simply "just remember" to send me SMS only. Seriously? This is an unreasonable request...and certainly not a fix. After arguing for a while, they took my contact info and "escalated the issue to engineering." It's now been three weeks and I've heard nothing.
My brother's girlfriends dad gave me his iPhone 3GS to call AppleCare and set up a replacement. I havent called becuase I can't find the serial number. The iPhone was dropped in water and it doesn't boot at all. The sim tray has no IMEI or serial number. He doesn't have the box or any backups avaliable on his computer either . Is there anyway Apple can fix it or replace the iPhone without a serial number? Could there be a serial number inside the iPhone?
