all of the sudden my volume control on the side and my volume/ vibrate slider is not working?

I've had this problem for a while and now I'm getting work I don't want to miss my phone because I've put it on dead mode. Before I factory reset my phone, I was able to change my volume using the side buttons to go from different levels of sound, then vibrate only, then dead mode (complete silent and no vibrations). Now I only have different levels of sound and dead mode. I read about changing an option in sounds to vibrate only in silent mode, which will fix this but I can't find that either (my suspicians are that this option was taken out in ICS or moved to a secret location to foil my plans).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

All of a sudden I have a problem with the volume on my phone. I know it isn't a problem with the speakers as all my videos play normally with sounds, and when I try to change the ringtone, it plays. However, I cannot adjust the volume using the volume buttons on the side, and the silence switch doesn't work...when I press any of them, there is no on screen confirmation of a change. The ohphone also doesn't play any noise when I have an incoming call or text. But I like I said, I can play videos with sound, I can go to settings and sound and hear the ringtones. I have reset, and restored the phone but nothing has made any difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9800 and the volume buttons on the right side of my phone don't seem to be working with any music program (Pandora, Slacker Radio, etc.) other than the normal Music program that comes with the phone. Is there something I need to do to configure the buttons for third-party music programs? It used to work just fine with these programs but no more!
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.

But sometimes it will come through as a text and then the volume slider will again disappear. Or best to go to genius bar? Ive tried a reset, plugged in to itunes and charger and nothing has worked.

I have gone in and tried to set all to vibrate, but still the ringer volume keeps coming up and the volume bar shoots all the way to high
it diong wrong, I keep missing those Kodak moments, waiting for it to clear from the LCD when in the camera mode.
Why my iPhone behaves in a way like it was switched into a docking station?
When I play a music (using iPhone speakers), the iPhone automatically switches from 'iPhone" into "docking station" after several seconds of playing a music.
I've already been resetting iPhone, cleaning the docking station port off - it's ok from the hardware point of view. Â

My 2 week old G4 went crazy today, first thing I noticed was hearing the camera taking continuous photos while in my pocket, I took the phone out and watched the volume slider appear on screen and then go all the way down to mute, all three rear buttons were unresponsive and then the slider appeared and volume went up to full on its own.
I removed the battery as the power button was non-responsive. Put it back in and booted up, all fine for half an hour and then it went through the same thing again. I've resorted to a factory reset, fingers crossed.
my trackpad isn't working! i cannot scroll up down or side to side! ive tried taking out the battery, but nothing seems to work?

Does any know why my side volume/ringer has gone onto headphones ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy recently purchased Iphone 5 works great with one annoying issue. The volume buttons on the side are reversed. The button with the minus sign increases the volume and is directly underneath the mute toggle. The button with the plus sing decreases the volume.Â
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed on my Lumia 1020 that when I have a Bluetooth headset connected to it I don't have the option of adjusting the Ringer volume as the slider disappears. You can see in the screenshot that I only get the one slider for Bluetooth volume.
Is this normal? I found below a topic where someone thought it was normal..if I have the headset connected, but sitting on the desk beside me waiting for a phone call, and I want to adjust the ringer volume. I don't want to have it always in my ear when not on a phone call, and I would've thought the ringer volume for the phone should always be available? Volume/Mute for Windows 8.1
Occasionally (and apparently randomly) the dropdown arrow next to the volume slider disappears and is not pressable. Changing orientation and opening the volume panel (pressing a volume button) whilst in a different orientation fixes the issue.

Is it me or are the volume controls a little tricky to operate? You only get a touch screen variation once you can press one of thge buttons.
Is there any way to put a touch column slider on the notifications area like the brightness slider?
I have just recieved my new Bold and the side volume keys are not functioning... nothing happens when I touch them.Is there something I have to turn on for them to work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA volume setting is stored for playback through the iPhone's speaker, and another for when earphones are plugged in.
I have noticed since updating to iOS 5.1 that the volume slider in the Music app sometimes displays the "speaker" level during "earphone" playback when switching between the two modes.
Although the slider displays the incorrect volume level, the playback is at the earphone setting's volume, not the displayed volume.
N.B. I have an iPhone 3GS, and the performance of the Music app has degraded with each iOS update; this seems to be due to the core software growing more complex. It is possible that there is just a very long delay between loading the Music app, it recognising the earphones are plugged in, and the volume slider widget being updated accordingly. I will report back with more clarification after more observation.

I am new to BB and am learning my way through it. Hopefully this is just a setting, but there are 3 buttons on the right side of the phone. The one near the bottom is for the camera, and there are a couple above that that the user guide says are the volume buttons. When I press the them to increase or drecrease the volume, nothing happens.
